Com.inations of m.tal and lanthanide oxides have been done through casted film. for potential m.dical applications. In this regard, sam.rium.Ⅲ) oxide/chrom.um.Ⅲ) oxide/graphene oxide(GO)/polycaprolactone(PCL) based film. nano-com.osites(NCs) were fabricated, pointing their utilization as a biological scaffold for wound dressing purposes. Also, sam.rium.Ⅲ) oxide and chrom.um.Ⅲ) oxide have been m.rged as prom.sing optical constituents due to their unique optical behavior. The structural and com.ositional exam.nation of the studied NCs was executed by X-ray diffraction(XRD), Ram.n, and field em.ssion scanning electron m.croscopy(FESEm.. The Sm.(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL NC exhibits a surface with a lower roughness degree owing to the presence of GO. Cr_(2)O_(3)shows size reduction upon GO insertion to reach 1.2 μm.as the average grain size, whilst Sm.(2)O_(3)records an average grain size of less than 1 μm. As well, the polym.ric nano-com.ositions exhibit variation in contact angle values that hit 29.76°± 3.52°for Sm.(2)O_(3)/PCL, and 48.62°± 1.37°for Sm.(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL as the second lowest contact angle. The optical behavior contributes to absorption edge relocation along the x-axis from.1.7 eV for pure PCL, to 2.65 eV for Sm.(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL. Regarding biological responses, the cell exposed to 2.5 μg/m.L of Sm.(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL shows cell viability of 119.31%, while 5 μg/m.L hits 99.6%. Additionally, the resulting cell attachm.nt m.crographs show layers of fibroblast tissue, besides the proliferation and growth of cultivated cells. Thus, the Sm.(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL scaffold provides 3D proliferation of fibroblast cells endorsing the wound healing process.

Developing a biom.terial for wound healing applications is still a ***,dysprosium.oxide(Dy_(2)O_(3)),alum.num.oxide(Al_(2)O_(3)),and graphene oxide(GO)were em.edded in cast film. based on polycaprolactone(PCL)to be exam.ned for wound dressing *** techniques were used to characterize the fabricated film. including X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),Ram.n,and scanning electron m.croscopy(SEm.,besides their biological *** therm.gravim.tric analysis(TGA)exhibits high therm.l stability as the scaffold weight decreases slightly to 98.6%after raising the tem.erature from.room.tem.erature to 280℃.The cell viability was investigated and it is shown that the viable cells grow up to approxim.tely 93%at 75μg/***,the cell attachm.nt shows excellent behavior as the cells attach on m.st of the surface of the m.dified PCL which shows high biocom.atibility.

In this article, we shall report the results of the spectroscopic m.asurem.nts of the plasm. param.ters utilizing the spectral lines em.tted from.the air atom. surrounding plasm. (O I line at 777.19 nm.and N I at 746.83 nm.. The plasm. was created via irradiation of plane solid alum.num.target in open air by a high peak power Nd: YAG laser pulses at fundam.ntal wavelength of 1064 nm. The em.ssion spectra were recorded using Echelle type spectrograph in conjunction with a tim. gated ICCD cam.ra at different delay tim. from.1 to 5 μs and at a fixed gate tim. of 1 μs. The plasm. electron density was m.asured utilizing the Stark broadening of the N I and O I lines and then com.ared to the reference density as deduced from.the optically thin Hα-line at 656.27 nm.appeared in the sam. em.ssion spectra. The results show that under our experim.ntal conditions the air lines are subjected to m.derate absorption. The plasm. electron tem.erature was m.asured utilizing the relative spectral intensity of the air (O I to N I) lines after correcting their spectral radiance against absorption. The standard tem.erature was m.asured utilizing the Al II ionic lines. A com.arison to the reference tem.eratures shows a very close agreem.nt after correcting the em.ssion spectral radiance of the air lines against self absorption, which em.hasizes the im.ortance of correction process.

We have utilized the relative intensity of m.gnesium.lines originated from.the m. I at 285.2 nm.and m. II at 280.27, 279.55 nm.to m.asure the plasm. electron tem.erature. The plasm. was produced via interaction of Nd:YAG laser with solid alum.num.target contains traces of m.gnesium. The m.gnesium.lines were found to suffer from.optical thickness which m.nifests itself on the form.of scattered points around the Saha-Boltzm.nn line. We have utilized a sim.le m.thod used for rapid calculation to the am.unt of absorption to these lines via com.arison of the electron densities as deduced from.m.gnesium.lines to that evaluated from.the optically thin hydrogen Hα line at 656.27 nm.appeared in the sam. spectra under the sam. condition. A correction to the m.gnesium.spectral lines intensities was carried out;hence the corrected tem.eratures were re-evaluated. The m.asurem.nts were repeated at different delay tim.s ranging from.1 to 5 μsec. This work em.hasizes on the im.ortance of correcting the em.tted spectral line intensity against the effect of self absorption before using them.in the calculation of plasm. electron tem.erature in laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) experim.nts.

AIm. To evaluate the safety and the efficacy of the ultrasound ciliary plasty(UCP) on the intraocular pressure(IOP) control in glaucom.tous eyes without previous glaucom. ***: A retrospective study included patients with prim.ry and secondary glaucom. who underwent UCP in Dar Al Shifa Hospital, Kuwait between January 2017 to June 2018. High-intensity focused ultrasound procedures were perform.d under peribulbar anesthesia using the 2^(nd) generation probe with 8 s duration of each of the 6 shots. Com.lete ophthalm.logic exam.nations were scheduled pre-treatm.nt, and at 1 d, 1 wk, 1, 3, 6 and 12 m. posttreatm.nt. Prim.ry outcom.s were the IOP reduction and success rates at 12 m., while the secondary outcom.s were the occurrence of vision threatening com.lications and visual ***: The records of 62 eyes of 62 patients were analyzed with m.an age of 63.8 y(67.7% m.les). There was statistically significant reduction in the m.an IOP from.35.2±8.3 m. Hg before treatm.nt to 20.6±8.7 m. AIm. To assess the effect of photoactivated chrom.phore for keratitis crosslinking(PACK-CXL) in case of severe keratitis with m.lting on the electrophysiological function of the retina and the optic ***: The study included 32 eyes of 32 patients with sm.ar positive severe infectious keratitis with corneal m.lting. The patients were random.y divided into two groups. Group I(control group) included 16 eyes received system.c and topical antim.crobial drugs guarded by culture and sensitivity test. Group II underwent CXL and then continued their antim.crobial treatm.nt. Full field electroretinogram.ERG) and flash visual evoked potential(VEP) were done for each patient in both groups basically and then 1 wk, 1 and 3 m. post-treatm.nt to assess the changes in the electrophysiological function of the retina and optic ***: Healing of 10 eyes in group I in com.arison to 14 eyes in group II was recorded. The m.an duration of healing was 36.56±5.21 d in group I vs 20.2±4.4 d in group II(Pm.ters of ERG and VEP after CXL. The am.litude of scotopic rod response, oscillatory potential am.litude, flicker am.litude and photopic cone response were insignificantly decreased(P=0.4, 0.8, 0.1, and 0.3 respectively). There were insignificant prolongation of latencies of scotopic rod, oscillatory potential, flicker and photopic cone response(P=0.2, 0.7, 0.5 and 0.1). There was slight delay in latency of VEP without a significant reduction in ***: CXL is an effective technique in treatm.nt of severe infectious keratitis with m.lting as it halts the m.lting process with acceptable safety on the retinal and optic nerve function.

In this article we will present an attem.t to m.asure the Stark broadening param.ter of the Zn I-line at 636.23 nm.utilizing the optical em.ssion spectroscopy (OES) technique, taking into consideration the possibility of existence of self absorption. This m.thod is standing on com.arison of the Lorentzian FWHm.and spectral line intensity of the unknown Stark broadening param.ter line (Zn I-636.23 nm.in our case) to a well known Stark param.ter line (e.g. Zn I-lines at 472.2, 481 and 468 nm. at a reference electron density of 2.7 × 1017 cm.3 and tem.erature of 1 eV. We have utilized the em.ssion spectral data acquired from.well diagnosed plasm. produced by the interaction of Nd: YAG laser at wavelength of 1064 nm.with ZnO nanom.terial target in open air. The results indicates that the Stark broadening of the Zn I-line at 636.23 nm.is centered at 5.06 ± 0.03 ? with a 25% uncertainty at the given reference plasm. param.ters. The knowledge of the Stark broadening param.ter of the 636.23 nm.line m.y be im.ortant in the diagnostics of the laser plasm. experim.nts especially in the absence of the Hα-line.

AIm.To evaluate the safety and efficacy of augm.nted trabeculotom. with Ologen versus perfluoropropane in m.nagem.nt of pseudophakic ***:This is a com.arative random.zed study included 57 pseudophakic eyes of 57 patients with m.dically uncontrolled open angle glaucom.(OAG).Twentynine patients were allocated in group I(trabeculectom. with Ologen;trab-ologen group),while 28 patients were assigned in group II(trabeculectom. with perfluoropropane gas bubble;trab-C3 F8 gas bubble group).RESULTS:The intraocular pressure(IOP)was significantly reduced in both study groups at all postoperative follow up intervals(1 wk,3,6,12,18,24,30 and 36 m.,Pm.an IOP values of both groups rem.ined statistically insignificance during the early 12 m.nths of follow ***,the trab-ologen group achieved a statistically significant reduction over the trab-C3 F8 gas bubble group during the last 24 m.nths of follow ***:Augm.ntation of trabeculectom. with either Ologen im.lant or perfluoropropane gas bubble are associated with strict long term.IOP control and evident safety in m.dically-uncontrolled pseudophakic eyes with OAG.
