Photoluminescence and Electroluminescence Studies on Tb-Doped Silicon Rich Oxide Materials and Devices

Photoluminescence （PL） characteristics of Tb-doped silicon rich oxide （SRO） films prepared by DC-sputtering and post-annealing processes were studied. The silicon richness of the SRO film could be controlled by varying the sputtering power and oxygen concentration in the sputtering chamber. PL emission from the as-deposited sample was found to be composed of Th^3 ＋ intra 4f transition-related emission and the silicon nano particle-related broad bandwidth emission. Thermal annealing could significantly improve the material properties as well as the PL signals. PL properties depended strongly upon the annealing scheme and silicon richness. Annealing at high temperatures （900- 1050℃） enhanced Tbrelated emission and suppressed the silicon nano particle-related emission. For samples with different silicon richness, annealing at 950 ℃ was found to produce higher PL signals than at other temperatures. It was attributed more to lifetime quenching than to concentration quenching. Electroluminescent （EL） devices with a capacitor structure were fabricated, the optimized process condition for the EL device was found to be different from that of PL emission. Among the annealing schemes that were used, wet oxidation was found to improve device performance the most, whereas, dry oxidation was found to improve material property the most. Wet oxidation allowed the breakdown electrical field to increase significantly and to reach above 10 mV·cm^-1. The EL spectra showed a typical Th^3＋ emission, agreeing well with the PL spectra. The I-V measurements indicated that for 100 nm thick film, the Fowler-Nordheim tunneling started at an electrical field of around 6 mV·cm^-1 and the light emission became detectable at a current density of around 10-4 A·cm^-2 and higher. Strong electroluminescence light emission was detected when the electrical field was close to 10 mV·cm^-1.

Rapid and Sensitive LC-MS/MS Method for Quantification of Fexofenadine in Human Plasma——Application to a Bioequivalence Study in Chinese Volunteers

A rapid and sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method（LC-MS/MS）was developed and validated for the quantification of fexofenadine in human plasma,to conduct comparative bioavailability *** plasma was extracted with a mixture of dichloromethane-diethyl ether（volume ratio 2∶3）in a basic environment and the extract was separated on a C18 column with a mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile-methanol-10 mmol/L ammonium acetate（volume ratio 45∶45∶10）.The analytes were detected via electrospray ionization（ESI）tandem mass spectrometry in the multiple-reaction-monitoring（MRM）*** linearity was within a range of 1-1000 ng/*** intra-and inter-day precision were〈4.1% and〈4.8%,respectively,and the accuracy was in the range of 95.0%-105%.The method was applied to the quantification of fexofenadine human plasma from 20 healthy male Chinese volunteers,according to a single dose,randomized,two-way crossover design with a two-week washout *** mean values of major pharmacokinetic parameters of ρmax,AUC0-48,AUC0-∞,tmax,and t1/2 were determined from the plasma *** analysis of variance（ANOVA）did not show any significant difference between the two products of fexofenadine and 90% confidence intervals fell within the acceptable range for bioequivalence.

We proposed a novel integration processes including multi-layer CVD poly-Si deposition and post-annealing and thermal oxidation processes for nano-Si quantum dot flash memory devices *** these processes,high quality nano-Si quantum dot flash memory devices have been *** increasing tunneling oxide thickness,the operation voltage increases,but retention properties are *** increasing nano-Si particle sizes and layer thickness,the memory window increases from 6V to *** programming to "on" or "off" states,the drain current read at 1V is about 5×10 A and 5×10A respectively. The ratio of "on" current to "off" current is about 8 *** nano-Si quantum dot memory devices show very good properties.

First-order Derivative Spectrophotometry for the Determination of Vitamin C in Medicament

A novel method for the determination of vitamin C（Vc） is proposed in this article. After the reaction with Folin-Ciocalteau reagent at ambient temperature, Vc solution was scanned at 750--1100 nm, and its first-order derivative spectrum were obtained from the original spectrum. The values of derivative selected at 995 nm were used for determination. It was proved that Vc could quickly react with Folin-Ciocalteau reagent within 5 min and the product was quite stable for a long time. The conditions required for this method is not very complicated, its precision and accuracy are similar to those of the iodometric titration described in Chinese Pharmacopoeia, and the limit of detection is 0.312 μg/mL. The determination of the results of vitamin C tablet, pill, and injection demonstrates that this method has wide pharmaceutical applications.

Liquid Chromatography-Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry Method for Determination of Protopanaxadiol in Rat Plasma

A simple, rapid and sensitive method for the determination of protopanaxadiol in rat plasma with ginsenoside Rh2 as internal standard was developed and validated. The analyte and internal standard were extracted from plasma with ether-dichloromethane（3：2, volume ratio） and then were analyzed by reversed-phase HPLC on a short Zorbax Extend C18 column（50 mm×2.1 mm, 3.5 μm i. d.） eluted with a mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile/methanol 0.10 mmol/L ammonium acetate（45：45：10, volume ratio） at 0.4 mL/min. Detection was performed on an Applied Biosystems Sciex API 4000 mass spectrometer set at unit resolution in the multiple reaction monitoring mode. Electrospray ionization was used for ion production. The assay method shows linear over a range of 5-2000 ng/mL and intra- and inter-day precisions over this range were 〈10.0% with accuracy ranged from 86.3% to 114.1%. The limit of detection was 500 pg/mL in the plasma. The method was successfully applied to a preclinical pharmacokinetic study of protopanaxadiol（17.5 mg/kg） administered as a single oral dose.

TCD5 Enhances the Photosynthesis Capacity,Increases the Panicle Number and the Yield in Rice

Improvement of photosynthetic efficiency is a major approach to increase crop yield ***,we cloned a gene encoding the chloroplast-located putative monooxygenase TCD5,which is essential in plastid development under low temperature in rice(Oryza sativa L.).In this study,the effects of TCD5 on the photosynthesis and the yields were investigated in *** sets of genetic materials with three levels of TCD5 expression,including tcd5 mutant or TCD5 RNAi transgenic lines and TCD5 over-expression transgenic lines in Jiahua1 and Nipponbare backgrounds,were used in the field trails of multi-locations and ***5 positively affected the panicle number and the yield at *** with the wild-types,the panicle numbers were 12.4%-14.6%less in tcd5 mutant and 8.3%-38.6%less in TCD5 RNAi lines,but 26.2%-61.8%more in TCD5 over-expression *** grain yields per plant were 9.1%-18.4%less in tcd5 mutant and 14.3%-56.7%less in TCD5 RNAi lines,but 6.9%-56.5%more in TCD5 over-expression *** measurements of net photosynthetic rate indicated that mutation or knock down of TCD5 decreased the net photosynthetic rate by 10.4%and 15.6%,respectively,while increasing it by 8.9%and 8.7%in the TCD5 over-expression lines in Jiahua1 and Nipponbare backgrounds,***,the measurements of chlorophyll fluorescence parameters showed that the electron transport rate and quantum yield decreased in tcd5 mutant or TCD5 RNAi lines but increased in TCD5 overexpression lines,both in Jiahua1 and Nipponbare ***-MS screening revealed that TCD5 interacts with 29 chloroplast proteins involved in chlorophyll synthesis,photo-reactions of the photosynthesis,carbon assimilation and metabolism,energy metabolism,redox balance,protein synthesis and *** TCD5 interacted proteins,D1 and FBA were effective targets for improving *** results suggest a potentially new strategy for increasing rice yield by enhancing photosynthe

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the fifth most common type of cancer and the fourth leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the *** has a reported recurrence rate of 70%-80%after 5 years of *** tumor recurrence is the most critical factor associated with HCC *** salvage therapies for recurrent HCC include re-hepatectomy or liver transplantation,transcatheter arterial chemoembolization,Y-90,target therapy,and immunotherapy;however,these conventional treatment modalities have yet to achieve consistently favorable ***,previous studies have demonstrated that conventional therapies in combination with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),acupuncture,moxibustion or dietary supplements could notably benefit patients with HCC recurrence by strengthening and augmenting the overall management ***,systemic reviews related to the interactions between complementary therapies and conventional therapy in recurrent HCC are *** this review,we discuss the molecular mechanisms underlying the functions of complementary therapies for recurrent HCC,which include augmenting the local control to improve the congestion status of primary tumors and reducing multicentric tumor occurrence via inducing autophagy,apoptosis or cell cycle *** and its derivatives may play important roles in helping to control HCC recurrence by inhibiting epithelial-mesenchymal transition,migration,invasion,and metastasis,inhibiting cancer stem cells,and ameliorating drug resistance.

QTL analysis of rice low temperature germinability

A double haploid population, derived from anther culture of F, hybrid between a typical indica and a japonica (ZYQ8/JX17), has been used to investigate the low temperature germinability (LTG) at 15℃. The low temperature germinability of two parents was significantly different. In 6-11 d, the germination percentage of ZYQ8 was higher than that of JX17. In 12-16 d, the germination percentage of JX17 was higher than that of ZYQ8. The quantitative trait loci (QTLs) of every day for low temperature germinabilityhave been mapped based on a molecular linkage map constructed from this population. In 8-11 d, qLTG-9 was identified in C397B-RZ617B on chromosome 9, the additive effect was positive, showing that, the allele from JX17 could increase low temperature germinability. In 12-16 d, qLTG-4 was mapped between RG908 and CT563 on chromosome 4, the additive effect was negative, showing that the allele from ZYQ8 could increase low temperature germinability. The rice OsV4 encoding a novel pentatricopeptide repeat protein is required for chloroplast development during the early leaf stage under cold stress

Pentatricopeptide repeat （PPR） proteins, charac- terized by tandem arrays of a 35 amino acid motif, have been suggested to play central and broad roles in modulating the expression of organelle genes in plants. However, the molecular mechanisms of most rice PPR genes remains unclear. In this paper, we isolated and characterized a temperature-conditional virescent mutant, OsV4, in rice （Oryza sativa cultivar Jiahual （WT, japonica rice variety））. The mutant displays albino phenotype and abnormal chloroplasts at the three leaf stage, which gradually turns green after the four leaf stage at a low temperature （20℃）. But the mutant always develops green leaves and well-developed chloroplasts at a high temperature （32℃）. Genetic and molecular analyses uncovered that OsV4 encodes a novel chloroplast-targeted PPR protein including four PPR motifs. Further investigations show that the mutant phenotype is associated with changes in chlorophyll content and chloroplast development. The OsV4 transcripts only accumulate to high levels in young leaves, indicating that its expression is tissue-specific. In addition, transcript levels of some ribosomal components and plastid- encoded polymerase-dependent genes are dramatically re- duced in the albino mutants grown at 20℃. These findings suggest that OsV4 plays an important role during early chloroplast development under cold stress in rice.
