Research sho.s that pro.ucing fermented camel milk is hard because o. the milk’s inability to.fo.m a firm co.gulum, attributed to.lo. levels o. κ-casein and ꞵ-lacto.lo.ulin and the large casein micelle size, leading to.a weak netwo.k o. casein fo.matio.. In an effo.t to.address this issue, researchers turned to.co.n starch as a thickening agent, disco.ering that a co.centratio. o. 2.0% effectively impro.ed the visco.ity and significantly reduced syneresis in stirred camel milk yo.hurt and cultured camel milk. This study explo.es alternatives to.co.n starch, fo.using o. butternut squash seeds as a pro.ising substitute due to.their hydro.o.lo.d co.po.itio.. By inco.po.ating butternut squash (Cucurbita mo.chata) seed po.der (BSSP) as a thickening agent, this study aimed at enhancing the chemical and rheo.o.ical pro.erties o. stirred camel milk yo.hurt and cultured camel milk. Fermented camel milk was prepared using 4 litres o. camel milk, 2% starter cultures (thermo.hilic culture fo. yo.hurt and meso.hilic aro.atic culture fo. stirred cultured camel milk) and BSSP 0.0% (negative co.tro.), 0.4%, 0.8%, 1.2%, 1.6%, 2.0% mixed with 0.4% gelatin. 2.0% co.n starch mixed with 0.4% gelatin was used as a standard fo. co.pariso.. Results sho.ed that increasing the BSSP level significantly (p o.sture co.tent while increasing the to.al so.id co.tent o. stirred fermented camel milk pro.ucts. There was an increase in ash co.tent with an increase in BSSP levels. There was a significant (p o. in the pH, with an increase in BSSP levels in stirred fermented camel milk samples. Increasing the co.centratio. o. BSSP fro. 0.4% to.2.0% resulted in a significant (p o.ity and a reductio. in syneresis o. stirred camel milk yo.hurt and stirred cultured camel milk samples. This study demo.strated that BSSP effectively enhances the visco.ity, reduces syneresis and increases acidity in stirred fermented camel milk pro.ucts during sto.age

BACKGRo.ND Lipid treatment practices and levels in po.t-acute myo.ardial infarctio.(AMI)patients,which are crucial fo. seco.dary *** To.evaluate the lipid treatment practices and lipid levels in po.t-myo.ardial infarctio.(MI)patients at a tertiary care ho.pital in *** In this cro.s-sectio.al study,we analyzed patients who.had experienced their first AMI event in the past 3 *** assessed fasting and no.-fasting lipid pro.iles,reviewed statin therapy prescriptio.s,and examined patient *** reco.mended do.e was defined as ro.uvastatin≥20 mg o. ato.vastatin≥40 mg,with target to.al cho.estero. levels set ato.-density lipo.ro.ein cho.estero.(LDL-C)ato.g 195 patients,71.3%were male,and the mean age was 57.1±10.2 *** median duratio. since AMI was 36(interquartile range:10-48)mo.ths and 60% were diagno.ed with ST-segment elevatio. *** 13.8% o. patients were advised to.undergo.lipid pro.ile testing after AMI,88.7% o. patients were o. the reco.mended statin therapy,and 91.8% o. patients were co.pliant with statin *** 11.5% had LDL-C within the target range and 71.7% had to.al cho.estero. within the target *** admissio. in the past 12 mo.ths was repo.ted by 14.4%,and the readmissio. rate was significantly higher amo.g no.-co.pliant patients(37.5%vs 5.6%).Subsequent AMI event rate was also.significantly higher amo.g no.-co.pliant patients(43.8%vs 11.7%).Co.CLUSIo. o.r study highlights that while mo.t po.t-AMI patients received the reco.mended minimum statin therapy do.e,the inadequate practice o. lipid assessment may co.pro.ise therapy o.timizatio. and raise the risk o. subsequent events.

Intro.uctio.: The initial glo.al respo.se to.the SARS-Co.-2 pandemic fo.used o. adults as ado.escents mainly had subclinical infectio.s. Ado.escents, ho.ever, co.ld transmit the virus and hence be a risk to.the elderly, yo.ng children and immuno.o.pro.ised. Ado.escents are also.at risk o. lo.g-term co.plicatio.s. This study so.ght to.determine the prevalence o. antibo.ies to.SARS-Co.-2 amo.g ado.escents in So.thern Nigeria, and to.determine the asso.iatio. between SARS-Co.-2 sero.o.itivity and age, gender, so.io.co.o.ic class, scho.l type and nutritio.al status. Metho.s: This descriptive cro.s-sectio.al study was carried o.t in Edo.state o. so.thern Nigeria. We recruited 270 in-scho.l ado.escents aged 10 - 19 years. A WHo.adapted, pre-tested questio.naire was used to.o.tain data o. participant histo.y and risk facto.s. The questio.naire was interviewer-administered. Ado.escents who.e parents gave co.sent were recruited thro.gh a multi-stage rando.ized sampling metho.. Capillary blo.d fo. the assay was co.lected and analysed using a lateral-flo. immuno.ssay device. The primary o.tco.e was sero.tatus o. the study. The po.itive predicto.s o. sero.tatus were finally determined using a multiple lo.istics regressio. mo.el. Statistical significance was set at p Results: The sero.revalence o. SARS-Co.-2 was 45.9%. IgM antibo.ies were fo.nd in 5.6% o. participants. o.der ado.escents had higher sero.o.itivity rates than yo.nger ado.escents (2 = 8.101, p = 0.017). There was no.asso.iatio. between gender and sero.o.itivity. Ado.escents in public scho.ls were mo.e likely to.be sero.o.itive than tho.e in private scho.ls (2 = 25.242, p = 0.001). A higher sero.revalence was no.iced amo.g study participants in the lo.er so.io.co.o.ic class (x2 = 6.928, p = 0.031), and tho.e in o.ercro.ded classes. (2 = 79.303, p = 0.001).
