Mountainous areas are of special hydrological concern because topography and atmospheric conditions can result in large and sudden floods,posing serious risks to water-related safety in neighbouring *** Yarlung Zangbo(YZ)River basin is the largest river basin on the Tibetan Plateau(TP),but how floods will discharge in this basin and how the role of glacier melt in floods will change throughout the 21st-century under shared socioeconomic pathways scenarios(SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5)remain ***,we comprehensively address this scientific question based on a well-validated large-scale glacier-hydrology *** results indicate that extreme floods was projected to increase in the YZ basin,and was mainly reflected in increased duration(4–10 d per decade)and intensity(153–985 m^(3)s^(−1)per decade).Glacier runoff was projected to increase(2–30 mm per decade)throughout the 21st-century,but there was also a noticeable decrease or deceleration in glacier runoff growth in the late first half of the century under the SSP2-4.5,and in the latter half of the century under the *** melt was projected to enhance the duration(12%–23%)and intensity(15%–21%)of extreme floods under both SSPs,which would aggravate the impact of future floods on the socioeconomics of the YZ *** effect was gradually overwhelmed by precipitation-induced floods from glacier areas to YZ *** study takes the YZ basin as a projection framework example to help enrich the understanding of future flood hazards in basins affected by rainfall-or meltwater across the TP,and to help policy-makers and water managers develop future plans.

Single atom catalysts(SACs)have garnered significant attention in the field of catalysis over the past decade due to their exceptional atom utilization efficiency and distinct physical and chemical *** the semiconductor-based electrical gas sensor,the core is the catalysis process of target gas molecules on the sensitive *** this context,the SACs offer great potential for highly sensitive and selective gas sensing,however,only some of the bubbles come to the *** facilitate practical applications,we present a comprehensive review of the preparation strategies for SACs,with a focus on overcoming the challenges of aggregation and low *** research efforts have been devoted to investigating the gas sensing mechanism,exploring sensitive materials,optimizing device structures,and refining signal post-processing ***,the challenges and future perspectives on the SACs based gas sensing are presented.

What can we learn from quality assurance badges in open-source software?

In the development of open-source software(OSS), many developers use badges to give an overview of the software and share some key features/metrics conveniently. Among various badges, quality assurance(QA) badges make up a large proportion and are the most prevalent because QA is of vital importance in software development, and ineffective QA may lead to anomalies or defects. In this paper, we focus on QA badges in open-source projects, which present quality assurance information directly and instantly,and aim to produce some interesting findings and provide practical implications. We collect and analyze 100000 projects written in popular programming languages from GitHub and conduct a comprehensive empirical study both inside and outside QA badges. Inside QA badges, we build a category classification for all QA badges based on the properties they focus on, which shows the types of QA badges developers use. Then,we analyze the frequency of the properties that QA badges focus on, and property combinations, too, which present their use status. We find that QA badges focus on various properties while developers give different preferences to different properties. The use status also differs between different programming languages. For example, projects written in C focus on Security to a great extent. Our findings also provide implications for developers and badge providers. Outside QA badges, we conduct a correlation analysis between QA badges and some software metrics that have potential relationships with code quality, contribution quality, and popularity. We find that QA badges have statistically significant correlations with various software metrics.

Repelling liquid drops from engineering surfaces has attracted great attention in a variety of *** achieve efficient liquid shedding,delicate surface textures are often introduced to sustain air pockets at the liquid-solid ***,those surfaces are prone to suffer from mechanical failure,which may bring reliability issues and thus limits their ***,inspired by the aerodynamic Leidenfrost effect,we present that impacting drops are directionally repelled from smooth surfaces supplied with an exogenous air *** theoretical analysis reveals that the synchronized nonwetting and oblique bouncing behavior is attributed to the aerodynamic force arising from the air *** versatility and practicability of our approach allow for drop repellency without the aid of any surface wettability treatment and also avoid the consideration of mechanical stability issues,which thereby provides a promising candidate for the applications that necessitate liquid shedding,e.g.,resolve the problem of tiny raindrop adhesion on the automobile side window during driving.

Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets play a crucial role in energy conversion and electronic *** essential magnetic properties of Nd-Fe-B magnets,particularly coercivity and remanent magnetization,are significantly infuenced by the phase characteristics and *** this work,Nd-Fe-B magnets were manufactured using vacuum induction melting(VIM),laser directed energy deposition(LDED)and laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)*** evolution and phase selection of Nd-Fe-B magnets were then clarified in *** results indicated that the solidification velocity(V)and cooling rate(R)are key factors in the phase *** terms of the VIM-casting Nd-Fe-B magnet,a large volume fraction of theα-Fe soft magnetic phase(39.7 vol.%)and Nd2Fe17Bxmetastable phase(34.7 vol.%)areformed due to the low R(2.3×10-1?C s-1),whereas only a minor fraction of the Nd2Fe14B hard magnetic phase(5.15 vol.%)is *** the LDED-processed Nd-Fe-B deposit,although the Nd2Fe14B hard magnetic phase also had a low value(3.4 vol.%)as the values of V(10-2m s-1)and R(1.45×106?C s-1)in the LPBF process resulted in the substantial formation of the Nd2Fe14B hard magnetic phase(55.8 vol.%)directly from the liquid,while theα-Fe soft magnetic phase and Nd2Fe17Bxmetastable phase precipitation are suppressed in the LPBF-processed Nd-Fe-B ***,crystallographic texture analysis reveals that the LPBF-processedNd-Fe-B magnets exhibit isotropic magnetic ***,the LPBF-processed Nd-Fe-B deposit,exhibiting a coercivity of 656 k A m-1,remanence of 0.79 T and maximum energy product of 71.5 k J m-3,achieved an acceptable magnetic perfor

Macleaya cordata extract(MCE)is a potential replacement for *** the current study,effects of MCE on the gastrointestinal health and humoral responses of host animals were explored.A total of 30 weanling goats with similar body weight of 9.15±1.36 kg were randomly allocated into three groups(n=10 per group):control group(CON group,fed with a basal diet),antibiotic group(Abx group,fed with the basal diet supplemented with 0.18 g/d vancomycin and 0.36 g/d neomycin),and MCE group(fed with the basal diet supplemented with 5 g/d MCE),for three *** showed that antibiotic addition decreased the height and area of rumen papillae,ruminal mucosa Toll-like receptor 8(TLR8),interleukin-8(IL-8)and interleukin-1β(IL-1β)gene relative expression levels and microbial diversity,altered the volatile fatty acid(VFA)profile in the rumen,and increased monocytes amount and CD4+T cells percentage in the peripheral blood(P<0.05)compared to CON *** addition increased the average daily gain,ileal villus height,villus height/crypt depth,and immunoglobulin M(IgM)content in the peripheral blood(P<0.05)compared to the ***,MCE addition decreased the proportion of isobutyric acid in the chyme of the ileum(P=0.005)compared to the CON *** results suggest that antibiotic supplementation may suppress the epithelial state and microbial diversity and fermentation in goats,but stimulate cellular response to maintain the growth performance of *** administration improved the epithelial state and humoral response to promote the growth performance in goats.

Aiming to investigate the impact of different stocking densities on the ability of Pacific white shrimp(Litopenaeus vannamei)to utilize Chlorella sorokiniana(CHL),a 3×2 factorial design stocking experiment was used in this ***,shrimp was fed with two dietary protein sources(fishmeal[FM]and CHL)at low(LSD;100 per m^(3)),medium(MSD;200 per m^(3))and high(HSD;300 per m^(3))stocking densities for 8 *** growth performance and resistance to Vibrio parahaemolyticus(1.0×10^(7) CFU/mL)of shrimp decreased with the increase of stocking density,but dietary CHL improved this *** between the CHL and FM groups for *** resistance were significant only under high-density conditions(P<0.05).Significant interactions between stocking density and protein source were found on the activities of catalase(CAT),superoxide dismutase(SOD)and phenol oxidase(PO),and the contents of malondialdehyde(MDA)in the hepatopancreas and the activities of intestinal amylase,most of which were significantly different between CHL and FM groups only at high stocking density(P<0.05).Analysis of 16S rDNA sequencing showed that dietary CHL increased the alpha diversity of intestinal microbiota,inhibited the colonization of pathogenic bacteria and enhanced the abundance of beneficial *** results showed that at high stocking densities,differentially expressed genes(DEGs)in the FM vs CHL group were mostly upregulated and primarily enriched in immune and metabolic related pathways including Toll,immune deficiency(Imd)and glycolysis–gluconeogenesis *** correlation analysis revealed significant correlation between the top ten intestinal bacteria at the genus level and markedly enriched DEGs,also more were detected under high density *** conclusion,CHL has great potential as a novel protein source in the intensive farming of shrimp.

A New Merged Product Reveals Precipitation Features over Drylands in China

Due to the considerable uncertainties inherent in the datasets describing the spatiotemporal distributions of precipitation in the drylands of China,this study presents a new merged monthly precipitation product with a spatial resolution of approximately 0.2°×0.2°during 1980–*** newly developed precipitation product was validated at different temporal scales(e.g.,monthly,seasonally,and annually).The results show that the new product consistently aligns with the spatiotemporal distributions reported by the Chinese Meteorological Administration Land Data Assimilation System(CLDAS)product and Multi-Source Weighted Ensemble Precipitation(MSWEP).The merged product exhibits exceptional quality in describing the drylands of China,with a bias of–2.19 mm month^(–1)relative to *** addition,the annual trend of the merged product(0.09 mm month^(–1)yr^(−1))also closely aligns with that of the MSWEP(0.11 mm month^(–1)yr^(−1))during 1980–*** increasing trend indicates that the water cycle and wetting process intensified in the drylands of China during this *** particular,there was an increase in wetting during the period from 2001–***,the merged product exhibits potential value for improving our understanding of the climate and water cycle in the drylands of China.
