The mechanism of toner display based on an electrical movement of black and white charged particles has been investigated. Two kinds of particles of black and white charged in the different electric polarity are enclosed in two ITO transparent electrodes using an insulating spacer. The particle movement is controlled by the external electric field applied between two transparent electrodes. The black toner is adhered on the electrode by an electrostatic force across the CTL to display a black image. The toners can be put back to the counter electrode by applying a reverse electric field, and a white image is formed. The black and white solid images are displayed by the switch of polarity of applied voltage in toner display cell. The polarity of charge and the value of charge to mass ratio of two particles were measured by observation of the particle separation on the surface-type electrodes and using q/m meter, respectively.

A molecular phylogenetic analysis of the genus Scomber was conducted based on mitochondrial(COI,Cyt b and control region) and nuclear(5S rDNA) DNA sequence data in multigene perspective.A variety of phylogenetic analytic methods were used to clarify the current taxonomic classification and to assess phylogenetic relationships and the evolutionary history of this *** present study produced a well-resolved phylogeny that strongly supported the monophyly of *** confirmed that *** and *** were genetically *** morphologically and ecologically similar to ***,the molecular data showed that *** has a greater molecular affinity with ***,which conflicts with the traditional *** phylogenetic pattern was corroborated by the mtDNA data,but incompletely by the nuclear DNA *** concordance between the mitochondrial and nuclear DNA regions for the basal nodes supports an Atlantic origin for *** present-day geographic ranges of the species were compared with the resultant molecular phylogeny derived from partition Bayesian analyses of the combined data sets to evaluate possible dispersal routes of the *** present-day geographic distribution of Scomber species might be best ascribed to multiple dispersal *** addition,our results suggest that phylogenies derived from multiple genes and long sequences exhibited improved phylogenetic resolution,from which we conclude that the phylogenetic reconstruction is a reliable representation of the evolutionary history of Scomber.

Dear Editor,MPL is a cytokine receptor that regulates the production of myeloid cells,in particular megakaryocytes and platelets(Kaushansky,2005).Dimerization of MPL is important not only for the initiation of signalling(Kaushansky,2005)but also for the resistance to a recent therapy for myeloproliferative neoplasms(Koppikar et al.,2012).In the current model,cytokine receptors exist as a mixture of monomers and dimers without ligand stimulation,while ligand binding induces additional receptor dimerization(Kaushansky,2005).

A lensless Vanderlugt optical correlator using two phase-only spatial light modulators （SLMs） is proposed. The SLMs are used for displaying input and filter patterns respectively. The SLMs are also used as programmable lenses in order to realize the lensless construction. This lensless system is simple and its alignment adjustment is easy. The performance of the SLMs as programmable lenses is also described.

Aim:To study the mechanisms by which N-demethyl-clarithromycin(NDC)induces human cervical cancer HeLa cell apoptosis in ***:The viabilityof N-demethyl-clarithromycin-induced HeLa cells was measured by MTT *** cells with condensed nuclei were visualized by phase *** DNA fragmentation was assayed by agarose *** of mitochondrial transmembrane potential wasanalyzed by a FACScan ***-3,poly-(ADP-ribose)polymerase(PARP),caspase-activated DNase(ICAD),Bcl-2,Bax,p53,and SIRT1 proteinexpression and the release of cytochrome c were detected by Western blot ***:N-demethyl-clarithromycin,an anti-inflammatory substance,inhibitedHeLa cell growth in a dose-and time-dependent manner.N-demethyl-clarithro-mycin induced HeLa cell death through the apoptotic *** pan-caspaseinhibitor(z-VAD-fmk),caspase-3 inhibitor(z-DEVD-fmk)and the caspase-9 inhibi-tor(z-LEHD-fmk)partially enhanced cell viability induced by N-demethyl-clarithromycin,but the caspase-8 inhibitor(z-IETD-fmk)had almost no ***-3 was activated then followed by the degradation of caspase-3 substrates,the inhibitor of ICAD and PARE Simultaneously,mitochondrial transmembranepotential was markedly reduced and the release of cytochrome c in the cytosolwas increased.N-demethyl-clarithromycin upregulated the expression ratio ofmitochondrial Bax/Bcl-2,and significantly increased the expression of the *** also downregulated anti-apoptotic protein SIRT1 ***:N-demethyl-clarithromycin induced apoptosis in HeLa cells via themitochondrial pathway.

Improvement of surge margin and reduction of interaction tone noise radiated from a centrifugal compressor with a vaned diffuser is discussed from experiments and CFD *** types of one-side tapered diffuser vanes,which are shroud-and hub-side tapered vanes,were used in the *** height of the leading edge of the tapered vanes varied from 100% to 10%.Both types of tapered vanes are effective for the reduction of the interaction tone noise radiated from the compressor,because of the smaller interaction area between impeller-discharge flow and diffuser vane ***,the hub-side tapered diffuser vane suppresses the evolution of the leading-edge vortex,which causes reverse-flow in the diffuser ***,the hub-side tapered diffuser vane,which has an optimized diffuser leading edge shape,can improve the compressor pressure-rise characteristics at low-flow operation and can enlarge the surge margin.

By ECH under a steady By field, a closed field equilibrium of a low aspect ratio as low as R/a = 1.4 is spontaneously formed in the LATE device. After the spontaneous formation, the plasma current has increased further up to Ip = 7.2 kA by 2.45 GHz, 30 kW and Ip = 11 kA by 5 GHz, 120 kW, by increasing the microwave power with a slow ramp of By for the equilibrium of the plasma loop at larger currents. Both amount to 12% of the total toroidai coil current. ECH/ECCD at 2nd harmonic resonance of EBW supports the plasma. An outline of the theoretical considerations for the formation process is presented.
