Antioxidants are usually added to polymeric insulating materials to suppress oxidative ***,the details of antioxidant added to a polymer are often not *** the other hand,compared to mid-infrared absorption spectroscopy,terahertz(THz)absorption spectroscopy,and far-infrared(FIR)absorption spectroscopy have not been performed so *** on the above backgrounds,six different kinds of antioxidants were added into low-density polyethylene sheets with four different contents,and their THz and FIR absorption spectra were *** a result,it has become clear that each antioxidant shows its specific absorption peaks,by which the antioxidants can be ***,the antioxidant content can be estimated by the absorption intensity of the specific peak.A chemometric analysis can make the estimation more accurately than a simple comparison of absorption intensity.

After Bénard＇s experiment in 1900, Rayleigh formulated heat convection problems by the Oberbeck-Boussinesq approximation in the horizontal strip domain in 1916. The pattern formations have been investigated by the bifurcation theory, weakly nonlinear theories and computational approaches. The boundary conditions for the velocity on the upper and lower boundaries are usually assumed as stress-free or no-slip. In the first part of this paper, some bifurcation pictures for the case of the stress-free on the upper boundary and the no-slip on the lower boundary are obtained. In the second part of this paper, the bifurcation pictures for the case of the stress-free on both boundaries by a computer assisted proof are verified. At last., Bénard-Marangoni heat convections for the ease of the free surface of the upper boundary are considered.

There are several cofactors which affect body iron metabolism and accelerate iron overload. Alcohol and hepatic viral infections are the most typical examples for clarifying the role of cofactors in iron overload. In these conditions, iron is deposited in hepatocytes and Kupffer cells and reactive oxygen species （ROS） produced through Fenton reaction have key role to facilitate cellular uptake of transferrin-bound iron. Furthermore, hepcidin, antimicrobial peptide produced mainly in the liver is also responsible for intestinal iron absorption and reticuloendothelial iron release. In patients with ceruloplasmin deficiency, anemia and secondary iron overload in liver and neurodegeneration are reported. Furthermore, there is accumulating evidence that fatty acid accumulation without alcohol and obesity itself modifies iron overload states. Ineffective erythropoiesis is also an important factor to accelerate iron overload, which is associated with diseases such as thalassemia and myelodysplastic syndrome. When this condition persists, the dietary iron absorption is increased due to the increment of bone marrow erythropoiesis and tissue iron overload will thereafter occurs. In porphyria cutanea tarda, iron is secondarily accumulated in the liver.

Technical Development of Simple Shear Deformation Experiments Using a Deformation-DIA Apparatus

Technical developments for simple shear deformation experiments at high pressures were made. The newly designed cell assembly can be compressed by deformation-DIA apparatuses with the MA 6-6 system, which consists of six second-stage tungsten carbide anvils （with a truncated edge length of 5 mm） and the anvil guide. Deformation of samples was barely observed during the compression process, showing that the shear strain of the deformed samples can be measured by the rotation of a strain marker. Simple shear deformation experiments on anhydrous and hydrous oli- vine aggregates were conducted under upper mantle conditions （pressures of 5.2-7.6 GPa and temperatures of 1 473-1 573 K）, and sample deformation with a shear strain of 7=0.8-1.2 was successfully achieved at a shear strain rate of 4.0×10^-5-7.5×10^-5 s^-1. The present study extended the pressure range of simple shear deformation experiments in the deformation-DIA apparatus from 3 GPa in an early study to 7.6 GPa at high temperatures.

A deformation experiment of ringwoodite with a strain of 9% was achieved at 20 GPa and 1 700 K and at a strain rate of 3×10^-5 s^-1 using a deformation-DIA （D-DIA） apparatus and a multi-anvil 6-6 （MA 6-6） assembly. The crystallographic orientations of the deformed sample were successfully analyzed by the electron backscatter diffraction （EBSD） method, although any notable latticepreferred orientation （LPO） was not observed presumably due to the insufficient strain in the present experiment. In this study, the deformation experiment on ringwoodite succeeded at P-T conditions consistent with the lower part of the mantle transition zone and at a controlled strain rate for the first time. The present study extended the pressure range of deformation experiments in the D-DIA apparatus from 16 GPa in our earlier study to 20 GPa at 1 700 K. The successful extension of the pressure range demonstrates potential importance of the D-DIA apparatus in studying rheological properties of minerals under the P-T conditions of the whole mantle transition zone.

Non-destructive quality detection and automatic grading are important in fruit *** traditional way divides bananas into 7-level ripening stages based on *** study investigated the changes of peel color at three positions of banana fingers,***,middle and tip.A support vector machine method was used to classify the ripening stages by color value L*,a*and b*as input *** ripening stages were classified by 10-fold cross validation method of support vector machines with radial basis function kernel and linear function *** results showed that the color change of middle position of banana finger adequately reflected the changes in banana ripening stages.a*value continuously increased from ripening stage 1 to ripening stage 7,L*and b*values increased from ripening stage 1 to ripening stage 5,and then decreased from ripening stage 5 to ripening stage *** was difficult to recognize the ripening stages using L*,a*and b*values *** accuracy of classification using support vector machine based on radial basis function kernel reached 96.5%,which was higher than that for linear function *** research can provide a reference for automatic classification of banana ripening stages.

Arsenic(As) in natural hydrological systems is known as a worldwide major environmental concern. A geochemical and sedimentological study was done to ascertain the origin and geographical distribution of As in surface water and fluvial sediment collected from the floodplains/basins of the River Indus and its four major tributaries that drain through the northern Pakistan. The hydrogeochemical compositions of all five rivers were similar with calcium(Ca2+) and bicarbonate(HCO3-) being the dominating ions. The concentration of As ranged from 0.62-24.05 μg/L(average 3.7 ± 3.5 μg/L, n = 61) in river water, 2.3-23.4 mg/kg(average 5.7 ± 3.9 mg/kg) in suspended sediment, and 2.0-13 mg/kg(average4.13 ± 2.3 mg/kg) in fluvial sediment. Various approaches were used, including mineralogical, sequential extraction, geochemical, and statistical analyses to investigate the distribution, behavior, and potential sources of As in the sediment. The effect of geological factors on the distribution of As was also *** noticeable changes in the relative abundance of minerals were observed in the sediment at different locations along the river. Both mineralogical and statistical analyses showed that silicate minerals like muscovite, biotite, and chloride are the main As reservoir while oxides minerals like hematite and magnetite, which are minor components in the sediment are second largest As carrier. A geochemical baseline, using the normalization and cumulative frequency distribution curves was constructed for *** estimated mean human contribution of As was 3.4% in the Indus River, 1.9% in the Jhelum River, 13.7%in the Chenab River, 17.5% in the Ravi River and 5.4% in the Sutlej River, indicating relatively higher effects of anthropogenic activity along the Chenab River and Ravi River. Natural and synthetic estrogens from sewage treatment systems are suspected to influence the reproductive health of the animals in the rivers. In this article, we investigated the enzymatic treatment of three estrogens （estrone, 17β-estradiol, and 17α-ethynyletstradiol） by a fungal laccase which oxidize phenolic compounds with dissolved oxygen. The elimination of the estrogenic activities by enzymatic oxidation was demonstrated by medaka vitellogenin assay. In addition, we developed an enzymatic treatment system comprised of β-D-glucuronidase and the laccase for 17β-estradiol 3-（β-D-glucuronide） degradation. The two enzymes eliminated 17β-estradiol 3-（β- D-glucuronide） and the intermediate, 17β-estradiol, efficiently.

Regulatory T(Treg) cells play key roles in various immune responses. For example, Treg cells contribute to the complex pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD), which includes Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis during onset or development of that disease. Many animal models of IBD have been used to investigate factors such as pathogenic cytokines, pathogenic bacteria, and T-cell functions, including those of Treg cells. In addition, analyses of patients with IBD facilitate our understanding of the precise mechanism of IBD. This review article focuses on the role of Treg cells and outlines the pathogenesis and therapeutic strategies of IBD based on previous reports.
