Multi-layer perceptron-based data-driven multiscale modelling of granular materials with a novel Frobenius norm-based internal variable

One objective of developing machine learning(ML)-based material models is to integrate them with well-established numerical methods to solve boundary value problems(BVPs).In the family of ML models,recurrent neural networks(RNNs)have been extensively applied to capture history-dependent constitutive responses of granular materials,but these multiple-step-based neural networks are neither sufficiently efficient nor aligned with the standard finite element method(FEM).Single-step-based neural networks like the multi-layer perceptron(MLP)are an alternative to bypass the above issues but have to introduce some internal variables to encode complex loading *** this work,one novel Frobenius norm-based internal variable,together with the Fourier layer and residual architectureenhanced MLP model,is crafted to replicate the history-dependent constitutive features of representative volume element(RVE)for granular *** obtained ML models are then seamlessly embedded into the FEM to solve the BVP of a biaxial compression case and a rigid strip footing *** obtained solutions are comparable to results from the FEM-DEM multiscale modelling but achieve significantly improved *** results demonstrate the applicability of the proposed internal variable in enabling MLP to capture highly nonlinear constitutive responses of granular materials.

A novel Eu^(2+)-Eu^(3+)co-activated ratiometric thermo-sensitive phosphor was developed and synthesized by solid-state *** valence state of Eu,photoluminescence and thermo-sensitive performance of the phosphor prepared either in ambient air or carbothermally were investigated and *** phosphor shows high sensitivity(Sa=0.0173 K^(-1),S_(r)=0.461%/K)and superior signal discriminability(Δν∼10380 cm^(−1)).the thermo-sensitive performance is subject to the dual effects of different thermo-responses by Eu^(2+)versus Eu^(3+)combined with energy transfer from Eu^(2+)to Eu^(3+),so that the sensitivity of the phosphor in the temperature range presents a non-monotonic *** development of the BaAl_(2)B_(2)O_(7):Eu^(2+),Eu^(3+)phosphor is not only expected to be relevant for application in the field of temperature sensing,but also of reference significance for improving the sensitivity by means of energy transfer between co-activator ions over a wider temperature range of Eu^(2+)-Eu^(3+)co-activated ratiometric thermo-sensitive phosphors.

the insect mitogenome is typically a compact circular molecule with highly conserved gene ***,mitogenome structural variations have been reported in specific taxa,and gene rearrangements,usually the tRNAs,occur in different *** synapomorphies of mitogenome organizations can provide information for phylogenetic inferences,comparative analyses of mitogenomes have been given increasing ***,most studies use a very few species to represent the whole genus,tribe,family,or even order,overlooking potential variations at lower taxonomic levels,which might lead to some incorrect *** provide new insights into mitogenome organizations and their implications for phylogenetic inference,this study conducted comparative analyses for mitogenomes of three social bee tribes(Meliponini,Bombini,and Apini)based on the phylogenetic framework with denser taxonomic sampling at the species and population *** analyses revealed that mitogenomes of Apini and Bombini are the typical type,while those of Meliponini show diverse variations in mitogenome sizes and *** inverted repeats(IRs)cause significant gene rearrangements of protein coding genes(PCGs)and rRNAs in Indo-Malay/Australian stingless bee *** evolution analyses showed that the lineage with IRs have lower dN/dS ratios for PCGs than lineages without IRs,indicating potential effects of IRs on the evolution of mitochondrial *** finding of IRs and different patterns of gene rearrangements suggested that Meliponini is a hotspot in mitogenome *** conserved PCGs and rRNAs whose rearrangements were found only in the mentioned lineages within Meliponini,tRNA rearrangements are common across all three tribes of social bees,and are significant even at the species level,indicating that comprehensive sampling is needed to fully understand the patterns of tRNA rearrangements,and their implications for phylogenetic inference.

the all-wheel drive(AWD)hybrid system is a research focus on high-performance new energy vehicles that can meet the demands of dynamic performance and passing *** optimization of the power and economy of hybrid vehicles becomes an issue.A unique multi-mode coupling(MMC)AWD hybrid system is presented to realize the distributed and centralized driving of the front and rear axles to achieve vectored distribution and full utilization of the system power between the axles of *** on the parameters of the benchmarking model of a hybrid vehicle,the best model-predictive control-based energy management strategy is ***,the drive system model was built after the analysis of the MMC-AWD’s drive ***,three fundamental strategies were established to address power distribution adjustment and battery SOC maintenance when the SOC changed,which was followed by the design of a road driving force ***,the energy consumption rate in the average time domain was processed before designing the minimum fuel consumption controller based on the equivalent fuel consumption ***,the advantage of the MMC-AWD was confirmed by comparison with the dynamic performance and economy of the BYD Song PLUS *** findings indicate that,in comparison to the comparative hybrid system at road adhesion coefficients of 0.8 and 0.6,the MMC-AWD’s capacity to accelerate increases by 5.26%and 7.92%,*** the road adhesion coefficient is 0.8,0.6,and 0.4,the maximum climbing ability increases by 14.22%,12.88%,and 4.55%,*** a result,the dynamic performance is greatly enhanced,and the fuel savings rate per 100 km of mileage reaches 12.06%,which is also very *** proposed control strategies for the new hybrid AWD vehicle can optimize the power and economy simultaneously.

Previous air pollution control strategies didn’t pay enough attention to regional collaboration and the spatial response sensitivities,resulting in limited control effects in *** study proposed an effective PM_(2.5)and O_(3) control strategy scheme with the integration of Self-Organizing Map(SOM),Genetic Algorithm(GA)and WRF-CAMx,emphasizing regional collaborative control and the strengthening of control in sensitive *** scheme embodies the idea of hierarchical management and spatial-temporally differentiated management,with SOM identifying the collaborative subregions,GA providing the optimized subregion-level priority of precursor emission reductions,and WRF-CAMx providing response sensitivities for grid-level priority of precursor emission *** Beijing-tianjin-Hebei and the surrounding area(BtHSA,“2+26”cities)as the case study area,the optimized strategy required that regions along taihang Mountains strengthen the emission reductions of all precursors in PM_(2.5)-dominant seasons,and strengthen VOCs reductions but moderate NOx reductions in O_(3)-dominant *** spatiotemporally differentiated control strategy,without additional emission reduction burdens than the 14th Five-Year Plan proposed,reduced the average annual PM_(2.5)and MDA8 O_(3) concentrations in 28 cities by 3.2%-8.2% and 3.9%-9.7% respectively in comparison with non-differential control strategies,with the most prominent optimization effects occurring in the heavily polluted seasons(6.9%-18.0%for PM_(2.5)and 3.3%-14.2% for MDA8 O_(3),respectively).this study proposed an effective scheme for the collaborative control of PM_(2.5)and O_(3) in BtHSA,and shows important methodological implications for other regions suffering from similar air quality problems.

Chlorine-based disinfectants(CBDs)have been widely used to prevent and control the spread of the COVID-19,which may lead to the formation of carcinogenic *** China,strict disinfection strategies by local governments/communities or volunteering by residents have been implemented to meet the Dynamic COVID Zero(DCZ)***,the amount of CBDs used has not been *** author proposed an urban-scale disinfectant consumption estimation(ALICE)model to quantify weekly CBD *** results show that the CBD consumption for the urban region of Beijing during the DCZ strategy was 3704.0 t(0.43 kg/(cap-yr)),equivalent to a monthly increase of 15 g/cap(70.5%)in CBD consumption compared with that in *** to the scenario analysis,a stricter strategy with a shorter response time toward new cases will decrease the total CBD consumption by 1.2% compared with the baseline estimation.A more precise prevention strategy with a smaller delineation of risk area and a less stringent strategy with a longer response time will lower the total CBD consumption by 0.42% and 0.35%,***,the more precise prevention strategy will reduce CBD consumption of close off and lockdown area(COLD area)by 16.9%,and the stricter strategy will reduce this consumption by 37.7%.this study highlights the impact of pandemic prevention and control strategies on chlorine-based disinfectant consumption and some implications for future environmental pollution and risk assessments.
