From April to July 2018,a data sample at the peak energy of the t(4 S) resonance was collected with the Belle Ⅱ detector at the SuperKEKB electron-positron *** is the first data sample of the Belle Ⅱ *** Bhabha and digamma events,we measure the integrated luminosity of the data sample to be(496.3±0.3±3.0) pb-1,where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is *** work provides a basis for future luminosity measurements at Belle Ⅱ.

Dear Editor,Approximately 20% of men with nonobstructive azoospermia （NOA） are diagnosed with infertility caused by genetic defects.1 these include chromosomal abnormalities, Y-chromosome microdeletions, and several specific gene mutations/deletions, such as in DAZ, RBMY, USP9Y, SYCP3, HSF2, PLK4, and tEX11.1,2 Several histones have been detected in mammalian testes, and testis-specific variants are specifically and highly expressed during spermatogenesis^3.

Identification of the layered morphology of the esophageal wall by optical coherence tomography

AIM： to assess each layer of the optical coherence tomography （OCt） image of the esophageal wall with reference to the histological structure, MEtHODS： Resected specimens of fresh pig esophagus was used as a model for the esophageal wall. We injected cyanoacrylate adhesive into the specimens to create a marker, and scanned them using a miniature OCt probe. the localization of these markers was assessed in the OCt images. then we compared the OCt-imaged morphology with the corresponding histological section, guided by the cyanoacrylate adhesive markers. We prepared a second set of experiments using nylon sutures as markers. RESULtS： the OCt image of the esophageal specimen has a clear five-layered morphology. First, it consisted of a relatively less reflective layer; second, a more reflective layer; third, a less reflective layer; fourth, a more reflective layer; and fifth, a less reflective layer. Comparing the OCt images with marked histological sections showed that the first layer corresponded to stratified squamous epithelium; the second to lamina propria; the third to muscularis mucosa; fourth, submucosa; and fifth, muscularis propria with deeper structures of the esophageal wa CONCLUSION： We demonstrated that the OCt image of the normal esophageal wall showed a five- layered morphology, which corresponds to histological esophageal wall components.

tongue-like Barrett's esophagus is associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease

AIM:to test this hypothesis of barrett esophagus (BE) classified into two types and to further determine if there was any correlation between the shape of endoscopically suspected esophageal metaplasia (ESEM), prevalence of reflux esophagitis (RE) and heartburn. MEtHODS: A total of 6504 Japanese who underwent endoscopy for their annual stomach check-up were enrolled in this study. BE was detected without histological confirmation that is ESEM. We originally classified cases of ESEM into 3 types based on its shape: tongue-like (t type), Dome-like (D type) and Wave-like (W type) ESEM. the respective subjects were prospectively asked to complete questionnaires concerning the symptoms of heartburn, dysphagia, and abdominal pain for a one-month period. RESULtS: ESEM was observed in 10.3% of 6504 subjects (ESEM the frequency of ESEM was significantly higher in males compared with female subjects. Statistical analysis showed that the prevalence of heartburn and RE were significantly higher in the t type ESEM than in the W type ESEM (P the t type ESEM was strongly associated with reflux symptoms and RE whereas the W type ESEM was not associated with GERD.

Background. Although previous studies have indicated that serum pepsinogen I levels, as well as the pepsinogen I/II ratio, were positively correlated with maximal gastric output, the relationship may be different between Helicobacter pylori-negative and -positive subjects. the aim of this study was to investigate the relation between serum pepsinogen concentrations and gastric acid secretion in H. pylori-positive and -negative subjects separately. Methods. the presence of H. pylori infection, the serum pepsinogen concentration s, and gastric acid secretion were investigated in 182 subjects without localize d lesions in the upper gastrointestinal tract. Serum pepsinogen concentration wa s measured by radioimmunoassay, and maximal gastric acid output was estimated by an endoscopic gastrin test, as we have previously shown. Results. In H. pylori -positive subjects, serum pepsinogen I levels and the pepsinogen I/II ratio wer e significantly correlated with gastric acid secretion, although the latter show ed a better correlation (r = 0.40 and 0.53, respectively). On the other hand, in H. pylori-negative subjects, serum pepsinogen concentrations were well correla ted with acid secretion (r = 0.57), but there was no relation between the pepsin ogen I/II ratio and acid secretion. Conclusions. the correlations between serum pepsinogens and gastric acid secretion differ, depending on the presence or abse nce of H. pylori infection. With the use of serum pepsinogens as a simple measur e of gastric acid secretion, therefore, consideration of H. pylori infection sta tus is needed. Because the determination of the acid secretory level has some cl inical implications in both H. pylori-positive and -negative subjects, its est imation by serum pepsinogen concentrations can be of practical use.

Helicobacter pylori-negative gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphomas: A review

Since Isaacson and Wright first reported on the extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma of the stomach in 1983,following studies have clarified many aspects of this *** now know that the stomach is the most affected organ by this disease,and approximately90% of gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue(MALt) lymphomas are related to Helicobacter pylori(***) *** implies that approximately 10% of gastric MALt lymphomas occur independent of *** *** pathogenesis of these ***-negative gastric MALt lymphomas remains *** date,there have been several *** possibility is that genetic alterations result in nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB) *** these alterations,t(11;18)(q21;q21) is more frequently observed in ***-negative gastric MALt lymphomas,and such translocation results in the synthesis of fusion protein API2-MALt1,which causes canonical and noncanonical NF-κB *** possibility is infection with bacteria other than *** could explain why *** eradication therapy can cure some proportions of ***-negative gastric MALt lymphoma patients,although the bacteria responsible for MALt lymphomagenesis are yet to be *** advances in endoscopy suggest magnifying endoscopy with narrow band imaging as a useful tool for both detecting gastric MALt lymphoma lesions and judging the response to treatment.A certain proportion of ***-negative gastric MALt lymphoma patients respond to eradication therapy; hence,*** eradication therapy could be considered as a first-line treatment for gastric MALt lymphomas regardless of their *** infection status.

Characteristics of escape mutations from occult hepatitis B virus infected patients with hematological malignancies in South Egypt

AIM to investigate the prevalence and virological characteristics of occult hepatitis B virus(HBV) infections in patients with hematological malignancies in South *** Serum samples were collected from 165 patients with hematological malignancies to monitor titers of HBV DNA, hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag), and antibodies to HBV core(anti-HBc) and surface antigens. Serum samples negative for HBs Ag and positive for anti-HBc were subjected to nucleic acid extraction and HBV DNA detection by real-time polymerase chain reaction. DNA sequences spanning the S region were analyzed in cases with occult HBV infection. In vitro comparative study of constructed 1.24-fold wild type and S protein mutant HBV genotype D clones was further performed. RESULtS HBV DNA was detected in 23(42.6%) of 54 patients with hematological malignancies who were HBsA g negative, but anti-HBc positive, suggesting the presence of occult HBV infection. the complete HBV genome was retrieved from 6 occult HBV patients, and P120 t and S143 L were detected in 3 and 2 cases, respectively. Site directed mutagenesis was done to produce 1.24-fold genotype D clones with amino acid mutations t120 and L143. the in vitro analyses revealed that a lower level of extracellular HBsA g was detected by chemiluminescence enzyme immunoassay(CLEIA) with the clone containing t120 mutation, compared with the wild type or the clone with S143 L mutation despite the similar levels of extracellular and intracellular HBs Ag detected by Western blot. Southern blot experiments showed that the levels of intracellular HBV DNA were not different between these clones. CONCLUSION Occult HBV infection is common in patients with hematological malignancies and associated with P120 t and S143 L mutations. 120 t mutation impairs the detection of HBsA g by CLEIA.

Background. In Japan, drug eruptions to nonionic iodinated contrast media have been reported since the products appeared on the market in 1986. Objectives. to evaluate this clinical finding, we analysed the number of patients with drug eruption to contrast media in our hospital from 1989 to 2003. Methods. In total, 117 patients suspected of such drug eruptions were patch and intradermal tested with contrast media (as commercially sold). those who tested positive were evaluated. Results. Of the 117 patients, 69 patients (19 men; 50women, mean± SD age 51.4 ± 16.5 years, range 17-86) showed positive reactions to contrast media. the number was 6-13 annually from 1989 to 1995, and 1-4 annually from 1996 to 2003. Conclusion. Although our data suggest (but do not prove) that patients with drug eruption to contrast media decreased in number, this condition is still not rare in Japan. Higher annual exposure to contrast media, including pretesting, could play an important role in this observation.

PURPOSE:Role and timing of frameshift mutations during carcinogenesis in hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer have not been *** study was designed to clarify the relationship between frameshift mutations and clinicopathologic features in colorectal cancer from patients with hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal ***:thirty-one colorectal cancers from patients with hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer at different clinicopathologic stages were analyzed for frameshift mutation in 18 ***:the frameshift mutations of the ACVR2 and PtHLH genes were found to have an extremely high frequency(94-100 percent)in all pathologic stages,and mutation of the MARCKS gene also was high(94 percent)in Dukes B and C *** frequencies were higher than the frequency of tGF βRII gene inactivation(64-88 percent).Mutations of the hMSH3,tCF4,CASP5,RIZ,RAD50,and MBD4 genes were comparatively frequent(>35 percent)in all *** of inactivation of the MARCKS,BAX,IGF IIR,and PtEN genes were significantly higher in Dukes B and C cancers than in Dukes A cancer(P the number of accumulated frameshift mutations was larger in Dukes B and C cancers(9.4)than in Dukes A cancer(6.8)(P = 0.003).CONCLUSIONS:the present data suggest that the disruption of the transforming growth factor-βsuperfamily signaling pathway by the alteration of the ACVR2 and/or tGFβRII genes and the disruption of antiproliferative function by the PtHLH gene alteration contribute to the development of early colorectal ***,the further accumulation of alterations in the MARCKS,BAX,IGF IIR,and PtEN genes seem to be associated with progression from early to advanced colorectal cancer from patients with hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer.

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes ( MWNts) were prepared by DCarc dischargein hydrogen gas, and werethermally purified byinfrared radiation in air. the morphology of pristineand purified MWNts was observed by scanning electron microscope ( SEM) , and the crys tallinestructureand perfection wereinvestigated by high resolution transmission electron mi croscope( HRtEM) and Raman spectrometer. Itcameto the conclusion thatthese MWNts possessed a high degreeof graphitization and very narrow centralchannel(about1 0 nm indiameter) , giving risetotheappearanceof breathing modesfor MWNts.
