Within this work, we perform a sensitivity analysis to determine the influence of the material input parameters on the pressure in an isotropic porous solid *** provide a step-by-step guide to obtain the analytical solution for a porous isotropic elastic cylinder in terms of the pressure, stresses, and elastic displacement. We obtain the solution by performing a Laplace transform on the governing equations, which are those of Biot's poroelasticity in cylindrical polar coordinates. We enforce radial boundary conditions and obtain the solution in the Laplace transformed domain before reverting back to the time domain. the sensitivity analysis is then carried out, considering only the derived pressure solution. this analysis finds that the time t, Biot's modulus M, and Poisson's ratio ν have the highest influence on the pressure whereas the initial value of pressure P0plays a very little role.

Currently,in the conventional aeroponic system the collection of data for crop performance is quite slow,whereas such data are typically collected ***,the root zone temperature is one of the most important factors affecting plant growth in aeroponics *** study aimed to obtain temperature and relative humidity data inside an aeroponic system based on the Internet of things(Iot)and automatically cool the root zone using a novel low-cost effective technique for cooling via a cooling fan connected to the Arduino *** results revealed that the newly designed system could monitor and record the data in real-time on an internet server per ***,the temperature and humidity data can be displayed on the smartphone application,and be sent to the personal email weekly as an excel *** system was able to maintain the temperatures inside the roots chamber between 28.7℃-29.2℃ while the maximum external temperature was 38.1℃,and the average temperature in the traditional aeroponics system was fluctuating between 29.5℃-31.5℃.the newly automated cooling system root zone system of this study showed an optimization of lettuce growth *** significantly increased the lettuce absorbance of inorganic nutrients such as N,P,and K by 45.5%,66.6%,and 45.0%,respectively,also revealed an increment of fresh weight,total chlorophyll,ascorbic acid,total carbohydrate,and total amino acids by 131.0%,26.2%,41.9%,30.7%,6.2%,respectively in comparison with the conventional aeroponic ***,this study may play a significant role in the aeroponic monitoring and control,for providing more suitable growth parameters and achieving the least human interaction.

the shiny cowbird Molothrus bonariensis parasitizes many species with different life-history traits and has a detrimental effect on the survival of the progeny of the *** response,hosts have developed numerous antiparasitic ***,we examined the effects of brood parasitism by shiny cowbird on the clutch and brood sizes(83 nests)in a small host,the black-backed water tyrant Fluvicola *** also studied whether the death of parasite nestlings was related to the care of the foster parents and whether the host had any antiparasitic defense against the shiny *** results indicate that brood parasitism significantly decreased the host hatching and fledging *** majority of nest failures(57%)were caused by brood *** cowbird parasitism occurred in 52%of nests and the intensity of parasitism was 1.23±0.53 eggs per parasitized *** the total host eggs,54%were *** the incubation stage,20 nests(47%)were abandoned because of egg punctures by shiny cowbirds *** two parasitic fledglings were recorded,while the remaining nestlings either died from starvation(n=12)or predation(n=3).Foster parents abandoned parasitic nestlings between 5 and 10 days *** findings demonstrate that the shiny cowbird has very low rates of fledging success when parasitizing black-backed water ***,parasitism had a high reproductive cost in the black-backed water tyrant because a very low proportion(7%)of the parasitized nests(n=43)were successful.
