In this paper, we propose a thermal model of a hybrid photovoltaic/thermal concentration system. Starting from the thermal balance of the model, the equation is solved and simulated with a MAtLAB code, considering air as the cooling fluid. this enabled us to evaluate some of the parameters influencing the electrical and thermal performance of this device. the results showed that the temperature, thermal efficiency and electrical efficiency delivered depend on the air mass flow rate. the electrical and thermal efficiencies for different values of air mass flow are encouraging, and demonstrate the benefits of cooling photovoltaic cells. the results show that thermal efficiency decreases air flow rate greater than 0.7 kg/s, whatever the value of the light concentration used. the thermal efficiency of the solar cell increases as the light concentration increases, whatever the air flow rate used. For a concentration equal to 30 sun, the thermal efficiency is 0.16 with an air flow rate equal to 0.005 kg/s;the thermal efficiency increases to 0.19 with an air flow rate equal to 0.1 kg/s at the same concentration. An interesting and useful finding was that the proposed numerical model allows the determination of the electrical as well as thermal efficiency of the hybrid CPV/t with air flow as cooling fluid.

the aim of this study was to present the epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic aspects of adult urological cancers in the department of urology at Zinder National Hospital. Patients and Methods: this was a cross-sectional study of adult primary urologic cancers during the period of January 2019 to December 2023. Data were obtained from the record of patients admitted to urology, and the medical oncology department. the parameters studied were;frequency, age, sex, urogenital distribution, anatomopathological type, and therapeutic aspects. Data were recorded on Excel 2013 and analyzed with Epi-info version 7.2.5. Results: Epidemiology: About 289 cancers were diagnosed through 6017 consultations during the period, corresponding to 4.80% of urological pathologies: prostate cancer (n = 221;76.47%), bladder cancer (n = 46;15.92%), kidney cancer (n = 13;04.5%), testis cancer (n = 09;03.11%). Median age of patients was 50.42 years. Prostate cancer: was Adenocarcinoma in 100% (n = 221) with Gleason scores > 7 (77.83%) and prostatique specific antigen (PSA) > 20 ng/ml in 90.04%. Extension evaluation 134 cases (60.63%). treatment was chirurgical castration in (62.44%) and resistance to castration appeared between 8 and 11 months. Hospital mortality for prostate cancer was 16.29%. Bladder cancer was found in 46 cases with Sex ratio 7/1. Cystoscopy was performed for all. Histology revealed squamous cell carcinoma (n = 41;89.13%), and (n = 5;10.87%) urothelial. Endoscopic resection performed (n = 14;30.43%). Kidney cancers were 13 cases (10 men, 03 women). Nephrectomy was performed in (n = 8;61.54%) cases and Histology revealed renal cell cancer in 76.92%. testicular cancers were diag 09 cases. History of cryptorchidism was found in 4 cases, 4-year infertility in 3 cases. Orchidectomy was done in all cases. Chemotherapy in 3 cases. Context: In Burkina Faso, there is only one retinoblastoma treatment center located in the capital. Nowadays, the treatment of retinoblastoma has benefited from the contribution of scientific progress. Objective: the aim was to take stock of the situation of retinoblastoma in the pediatric oncology department from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2019. Materials and Methods: this was a descriptive cross-sectional study with retrospective data collection over a 10-year period, based on records of patients admitted to pediatric oncology department of CHU-YO. Data were analysed using CS Pro version 7.2 software. Categorical variables were compared using Pearsons Chi-square test at the 5% significance level. Overall survival was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method. Operational definitions were used for lost to follow-up, consultation and diagnosis delays. Results: We collected a total of 204 cases in 10 years, i.e. an annual average of 20.4 cases/year. the mean age at diagnosis was 37.5 months for unilateral cases and 26.4 months for bilateral cases. Male predominance was noted, with a sex ratio of 1.31. the majority of patients came from disadvantaged backgrounds (72% farming fathers and 91% housewives). Clinically, leukocoria and exophthalmos were the main presenting features. the average time to consultation was long (8.73 months) and unilateral localization was predominantly unilateral at 77%. In terms of treatment, 102 patients were eligible for curative treatment and 80 for palliative treatment. the prognosis was poor, with 41% death and numerous cases of lost to follow-up (18%). Overall survival was estimated at 32%. the factor associated with the lethality of retiniblastoma was the extension of the tumor to other organs. Conclusion: Recognition of the early clinical signs of retinoblastoma can anticipate the occurrence of this cancer. Laser-driven ramp compression was used to investigate iron characteristics along the isentropic path. the iterative Lagrangian analysis method was employed to analyze the free surface velocity profiles in iron stepped target measured with two VISARs. the onset stress for the α to ε phase transformation was determined from the sudden change in the sound velocity and was found over-pressurized compared to the static and shock results. the derived stress（26 GPa） and strain rate（up to 10-8 s^-1） are consistent with our previous experimental results. the stress-density relations were compared with those from previous ramp experiments and good agreements were found, which experimentally confirms the simulations,showing that iterative Lagrangian analysis can be applied to the ramp-compression data with weak shock.

Early postpartum hemorrhage is one of the major causes of maternal death in the world especially in developing countries. Its management often relieves resuscitation that is often difficult to set up in our countries and sometimes based on invasive and mutilate surgery. Objectives: the purpose of this survey was to report frequency of this pathology, to describe its management and the factors that influence the prognosis of early postpartum hemorrhage in low setting health in Africa. Method: Authors conducted a prospective study that analyzed early postpartum hemorrhage in the motherhoods of Gabriel touré teaching hospital and community five health reference center of the district of Bamako. It took place from January, 2015 to December, 2016. the study concerned all the cases of early postpartum hemorrhage according to WHO definition. Statistical tests used were X2 or Fisher test, its 95% confidence interval (CI95%), p value was significant if Results: Early postpartum hemorrhage frequency has been 0.7% (62 cases for 8.885 deliveries). Sixty nine and one percent (69.1%) of patients have been blood fluid transfused. Obstetric treatment dominated by uterine revision (30.7%). Hysterorraphy (4.0%), hysterectomy (3.0%), suture of uterus injuries (15.7%), hypo gastric artery ligature (2.0%) and B-Lynch compression suture (2.0%) have been the main practiced surgical operations. No satisfy blood transfusion need was 26.9%. the main risk factors of early PPH were high parity (p = 0009;RR = 3.04;CI95% [2.80 - 5.11]), prolonged labor (p = 0004;RR = 4.00;CI95% [3.06 - 10.02]), oxytocin/prostaglandin use (p = 0003;RR = 1.47;CI95% [1.17 - 3.16]). Eleven of maternal occurred (11.8%). Conclusion: Early postpartum hemorrhage is still a severe event in developing countries especially. Its management sometime consisted to invasive cares. Maternal prognosis that is influenced by unsatisfied blood need and late management is marked by high lethality.

this paper presents a study using in situ measurements (AERONEt data) to characterize the intra-seasonal variability of aerosols and their shortwave radiative impacts on Sahel (11N - 18N and 20W - 15E) climate using a long time series (2000 to 2010) from AERONEt data. We first used the MISR aerosol optical depth (AOD) averaged between 2000 and 2010 to identify dust maxima regions. they are mainly located over Eastern Mauritania-Northern Mali and Eastern Niger-Western tchad (near the Bodele depression). Moreover the aerosol loading is stronger during the spring (MAM) and particularly during the summer (JJA). the analysis of AERONEt data at 4 Sahelian stations (Dakar, Agoufou, Banizoumbou and Ouagadougou) shows that Sahel is under dust influence all year long. the dust season is mainly located between March and October, with two peaks of AOD recorded in March and June;while the maximum of biomass burning activity is recorded in winter (December to February). the radiative forcing of aerosols on the Sahelian climate results mainly in a cooling as well as at the surface than at the top of the atmosphere (tOA) but the forcing is stronger at the surface and particularly during the summer (JJA) and spring (MAM) periods. Although there is not a sharp difference between DJF and SON periods from a station to another one when considering the aerosol loading (AOD), the radiative forcing is stronger at the surface and weaker at the tOA during DJF for most stations. the analysis of the force effectiveness (ratio between AOD and the radiative forcing) suggests that the BOA radiative forcing is mainly influenced by the nature of aerosols.

the SSt variability during the summer period in the northeastern tropical Atlantic region (NtA) is characterized by an alternation of warming/cooling which represents 87% of the total variability. the aim of this paper is to study the atmospheric responses as well as the precipitation associated with these oceanic conditions. Based on Reynolds’s SSt from 1982 to 2019, a normalized Northern tropical Atlantic index (NtAI) is computed into the region between 15° - 25°W;12° - 16°N and a composite analysis is then performed. It is shown that the NtAI is significantly correlated with the SSt’s first principal component mode (PC1) in this region. Moreover, the composite of SSt anomalies and atmospheric parameters exhibits a strong local ocean-atmosphere interaction which highly impacts the large-scale atmospheric circulation in West Africa, particularly in the western Sahel. An in-depth analysis shows that the atmospheric response to the warm (cold) SSt is a cyclonic (anticyclonic) circulation in the lower layers near the West Africa Coast. this cyclonic (anticyclonic) circulation strengthens/reduces the moisture transport towards the continent in the low levels. In the middle layers of the atmosphere (500 hPa), the warm (cold) composite is associated with a decrease (increase) in the intensity of the African Easterly Jet (AEJ) whereas, in the upper atmosphere (200 hPa), the strengthening (weakening) of the tropical Easterly Jet (tEJ) is observed. With regard to the composite precipitation field, a positive/negative SSt anomaly is associated with significantly enhanced/reduced rainfall in the western Sahelian region. It is found that this relationship (correlation) increases as we are closer to the coasts.

Background: It is yet a controversy subject whether low birth weight and infant death are associated to human immunodeficiency virus-1 infection. Objective: to appreciate association between low birth weights, mother to child HIV transmission and infant mortality in HIV-1 infected pregnant women delivering between 2011 and 2016. Materials: We conducted 6 years cohort study in urban Mali. Outcome included preterm delivery, small for gestational age, infant survival status and HIV transmission. Comparison concerned women clinical WHO stage, mother viro-immunological status, and newborn anthropometric parameters. Results: HIV-1 infected women who delivered low birth weight newborn were 20.9% (111/531) versus 16.5% (1910/11.546) in HIV negative patients (p = 0.016). CD4 t cell counts low than 350 t cells count were strongly associated to LBW (p = 0.000;RR = 3.03;95% CI [1.89 - 3.16]). there is no significant association between ARt that was initiated during pregnancy (p = 0.061, RR = 0.02;CI 95% (1.02 - 1.99)) or during delivery (p = 0.571;RR = 1.01;CI 95% (0.10 - 3.02)) and LBW delivery. In multivariate analysis ARt regimens containing protease inhibitor (PI) were lone regimens associated with LBW ((p = 0.030;RR = 1.001;95% confidence interval [1.28 - 3.80]). Very low birth weight was statistically associated to women HIV infection (adjusted relative risk, 2.02;p = 0.000;95% confidence interval (2.17 - 4.10)). there is no significant difference between mother to child HIV transmission rate in the two HIV-infected pregnant women (10 infected children in group 2: MtCt rate 4.5%) and 3 infected children in group 1 (MtCt rate: 2.7%) (p = 0.56;RR, 0.59;CI 95% (0.18 - 4.39)). In multivariate analysis, LBW was associated with infant death (p = 0.001;RR = 2.04;CI 95% [1.04 - 5.05]). the median weight of infant at the moment of death in group 1 was 851 g (IQR: 520 - 1833 g). trong>Introduction: trong>The objective of this study was to evaluate the epidemiological, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of cardiogenic shock in children at the Albert Royer Children’s Hospital in Dakar. Methods: This was a retrospective, descriptive and analytical study from January 2020 to February 2021, including all children aged 2 months to 16 years hospitalised for cardiogenic shock diagnosed on the basis of clinical and ultrasound criteria. Results: During the study, 38 patients were hospitalised for cardiogenic shock. The hospital prevalence was 4.2%. The mean age of onset of shock was 64 months, and there was a predominance of females with a sex ratio of 1.92. Consanguinity was found in 42% of the patients. Consanguinity was found in 42% of patients. Infection was identified as a trigger for cardiogenic shock in 18 (52.9%) of our patients. The most common type of heart disease was rheumatic heart disease in 12 (32%) of the patients. The mortality rate was 65.8%. Conclusion: Cardiogenic shock is a diagnostic and therapeutic emergency. Its prevalence and mortality are still high in developing countries.
