Wit. recent.advances in t.eory and observat.ons, direct.connect.ons emerge bet.een t.e progenit.rs of t.pe Ia Supernovae （SNe Ia） and t.e observed light.curves and spect.a. A direct.link is import.nt.for our underst.nding of t.e supernovae physics, t.e diversit. of SNe Ia and t.e use of SNe Ia for high-precision cosmology because t.e det.ils of t.e explosion depends sensit.vely on t.e init.al condit.ons and t.e explosion scenario（s） realized in nat.re. Do SNe Ia originat. from SD- or DD syst.ms, and do t.ey lead t. Mcu mass explosions or dynamical mergers？ Does t.e st.t.st.cal dist.ibt.on of SNe Ia depend on t.eir environment.which can be expect.d t. change wit. redshift. In t.is cont.ibut.on, we will exam from t.e t.eoret.cal point.of view t.e t.ll-t.ils for t.is connect.on, t.eir consist.ncy wit. t.e observat.ons, and fut.re direct.ons. In a first.sect.on, we present.t.e physics of t.e explosion, light.curves and spect.al format.on in a nut.hell t. help underst.nding t.e connect.on. For det.ils of t.e progenit.r evolut.on and explosion physics, we refer t. reviews and t.e ot.er cont.ibut.ons in t.is issue. Each of t.e t.pical sect.ons st.rt. wit. a brief general review followed by a more det.iled discussion of specific result.. Because t.e yout. of t.e field, some bias is unavoidable t.wards result. obt.ined wit.in our collaborat.ons （and FSU）. t.e imprint.of t.e met.llicit., progenit.r st.rs and propert.es such as t.e cent.al densit. of t.e exploding WD are present.d. IR spect.oscopy, polarimet.y and imaging of SNR remnant. are discussed as a t.ol t. t.st.for t.e WD propert.es, magnet.c fields and asymmet.ies. We discuss different.classes of t.pe Ia supernovae, and t.eir environment. Possible correlat.ons bet.een t.e spect.oscopic and light.curve propert.es of SN Ia are discussed. Finally, t.e overall emerging pict.re and fut.re development. are discussed.

diamonds and Ot.er Exot.c Minerals Recovered from Peridot.t.s of t.e Dangqiong Ophiolit., West.rn Yarlung-Zangbo Sut.re Zone, t.bet

Various combinat.ons of diamond, moissanit., zircon, quart., corundum, rut.le, t.t.nit., almandine garnet. kyanit., and andalusit. have been recovered from t.e Dangqiong peridot.t.s. More t.an 80 grains of diamond have been recovered, most.of which are pale yellow t. reddish-orange t. colorless. t.e grains are all 100-200 μm in size and most.y anhedral, but.wit. a range of morphologies including elongat.d, oct.hedral and subhedral variet.es. t.eir ident.ficat.on was confirmed by a charact.rist.c shift.in t.e Raman spect.a bet.een 1325 cm^-1 and 1333 cm^-1, most.y at.1331.51 cm^-1 or 1326.96 cm^-1. Int.grat.on of t.e mineralogical, pet.ological and geochemical dat. for t.e Dongqiong peridot.t.s suggest. a mult.-st.ge format.on for t.is body and similar ophiolit.s in t.e Yarlung-Zangbo sut.re zone. Chromian spinel grains and perhaps small bodies of chromit.t. cryst.llized at.various dept.s in t.e upper mant.e, and encapsulat.d t.e UHP, highly reduced and crust.l minerals. Some oceanic crust.l slabs cont.ining t.e chromian spinel and t.eir inclusion were lat.r t.apped in suprasubduct.on zones（SSZ）, where t.ey were modified by island arc t.oleiit.c and boninit.c magmas, t.us changing t.e chromian spinel composit.ons and deposit.ng chromit.t. ores in melt.channels.

Format.on of diamond powders from melamine under high pressure and high t.mperat.re

High pressure pyrolysis of melamine has been at.ract.ng great.int.rest.recent.y, due t. it.being considered as a suit.ble precursor t. realize t.e g-C3N4 and even superhard C3N4. In t.is work, we st.died t.e det.iled pyrolysis behavior of melamine at.22 GPa. Melamine was st.ble at.800℃, and decomposed t. diamond in t.e form of powder at.1500-2000 ℃ under t.is pressure condit.on. At.2000℃, t.e pure cubic diamond powders wit. 0.1 0.5 μm grain size were obt.ined. t.e diamond part.cles exhibit.d euhedral forms and dispersed t. each ot.er, we proposed t.at.t.ese novel feat.res were caused by t.e presence of liquid N2 and NH3 during diamond format.on. t.e high pressure pyrolysis of melamine may provide a new means of producing micromet.r-sized diamond powders.

t.e Phase t.ansit.on during Post.Annealing

We have st.died why PA （post.annealing） t.kes a long t.me t. rest.re damaged cryst.llinit., which corresponds t. repeat.10 10 t.mes of lat.ice vibrat.ons. Using a MD （molecular dynamics） simulat.on, we monit.red t.e t.me-series of t.e LRO （long-range order） paramet.r as LRO pat.ern, in t.e case of a t.pe IIa diamond, from t.e beginning of ion impact.by a sub-keV N2 beam implant.t.on t. a few nanoseconds, i.e., close t. t.e feasible t.me limit.for MD simulat.ons. Due t. t.e ion impact. t.e LRO paramet.r changed gradually from ＂LRO = 1＂（cryst.l） t. ＂LRO = 0＂（amorphous）, showing t.e so-called crit.cal slowing-down phenomenon. However, since PA was st.rt.d t.e LRO pat.ern was not.unique. t.e LRO pat.erns were grouped int. more t.an t.ree t.pes of phases and t.e t.ansit.on bet.een t.em was also found. From t.e viewpoint.of st.t.st.cal dynamics, such chaot.c variat.ons in t.e LRO pat.ern may present.t.at.t.e syst.m is a GCM （globally coupled map） of a complex syst.m in a closed syst.m. A GCM composed of coupled oscillat.rs develops slowly t. exhibit.several different.phases or ‘chaot.c it.nerancy＇ over t.me. t.erefore, t.e long durat.on required for PA may be at.ribut.ble t. t.e nat.re of a complex syst.m.

Ult.a-precision machining is an effect.ve approach t. achieve high dimension accuracy and surface finish required in opt.cal and laser component.. An ext.nsive st.dy using a t.o-axis diamond t.rning machine is conduct.d t. machine t.e reflect.r arrays used for laser diode beam shaping. t. posit.on t.e workpiece precisely, t.eoret.cal analysis is made so t.at.t.e dimensional accuracy can be achieved. Invest.gat.ons int. machining burr reduct.on are carried out. Wit. t.e process developed, reflect.rs wit. opt.cal surface finish of 8 nm in Ra and minimized burr size of less t.an 0.5 μm have been achieved.
