Solid-state nanopores offer a range of distinct advantages over biological nanopores, such as structural diversity and greater stability and durability; this makes them highly promising for high-resolution nanoparticle sensing. Biological nanopores can exhibit gating characteristics with stress-responsive switches and can demonstrate specificity toward particular molecules. Drawing inspiration from biological nanopores, this paper introduces a novel polymer nanopore with field-effect characteristics, leveraging a conductive polymer in its construction to showcase intriguing gating behavior. Notably, in this device, the polymer layer serves as the gate, enabling precise control over the source-drain current response inside and outside the pore by simply adjusting the gate voltage. This unique feature allows fine-tuning of the nanopore's sensitivity to nanoparticles of varying sizes and facilitates its operation in multiple modes. Experimental results reveal that the developed polymer nanopore field-effect transistor demonstrates remarkable selectivity in detecting nanoparticles of various sizes under different applied voltages. The proposed single device demonstrates the exceptional ability to detect multiple types of nanoparticle, showcasing its immense potential for a wide range of applications in biological-particle analysis and medical diagnostics.

An in-house code,CONTHAC-3D,was developed to calculate and analyze thermal-hydraulic phenomena in containments during severe ***-3D is a three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics code that can be applied to predict gas flow,diffusion,and steam condensation in a containment during a severe hypothetical accident,as well as to obtain an estimate of the local hydrogen concentration in various zones of the ***-3D was developed using multiple models to simulate the features of the proprietary systems and equipment of HPR1000 and ACP100,such as the passive cooling system,passive autocatalytic recombiners and the passive air cooling *** validate CONTHAC-3D,a GX6 test was performed at the Battelle Model Containment *** hydrogen concentration and temperature monitored by the GX6 test are accurately predicted by ***,the hydrogen distribution in the HPR1000 containment during a severe accident was *** results show that the hydrogen removal rates calculated using CONTHAC-3D for different types of PARs agree well with the theoretical values,with an error of less than 1%.As the accident progresses,the hydrogen concentration in the lower compartment becomes higher than that in the large space,which implies that the lower compartment has a higher hydrogen risk than the dome and large space at a later stage of the *** amount of hydrogen removed by the PARs placed on the floor of the compartment is small;therefore,raising the installation height of these recombiners appropriately is ***,we do not recommend installing all autocatalytic recombiners at high *** study findings in regard to the hydrogen distribution in the HPR1000 containment indicate that CONTHAC-3D can be applied to the study of hydrogen risk containment.

The support vector machine(SVM)is a classical machine learning *** the hinge loss and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)penalty are usually used in traditional ***,the hinge loss is not differentiable,and the LASSO penalty does not have the Oracle *** this paper,the huberized loss is combined with non-convex penalties to obtain a model that has the advantages of both the computational simplicity and the Oracle property,contributing to higher accuracy than traditional *** is experimentally demonstrated that the two non-convex huberized-SVM methods,smoothly clipped absolute deviation huberized-SVM(SCAD-HSVM)and minimax concave penalty huberized-SVM(MCP-HSVM),outperform the traditional SVM method in terms of the prediction accuracy and classifier *** are also superior in terms of variable selection,especially when there is a high linear correlation between the *** they are applied to the prediction of listed companies,the variables that can affect and predict financial distress are accurately filtered *** all the indicators,the indicators per share have the greatest influence while those of solvency have the weakest *** companies can assess the financial situation with the indicators screened by our algorithm and make an early warning of their possible financial distress in advance with higher precision.

The Bay of Bengal(BoB)tropical cyclones(TCs)and the Tibetan Plateau vortices(TPVs)are two crucial weather systems influencing the Tibetan Plateau(TP).Their synergistic effects can lead to widespread heavy precipitation events on the *** this study,we employ the Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory(HYSPliT)model to track the trajectory of water vapor transport during three large-scale precipitation events on the TP under the combined influence of BoB TCs and *** results indicate that low-level water vapor from the BoB under the influence of BoB TCs was cyclonically entangled into the cyclonic circulation,lifted and transported northward by southwesterly flow to the southeastern part of the TP,which contributes to the moistening of the entire troposphere ***,convergence of the cyclonic circulation of the TPVs on the northern TP further transports water vapor collected in the southeastern TP northward,conducive to the maintenance and development of precipitation systems,thus inducing widespread heavy precipitation events over the TP.

Currently,as the electromagnetic(EM)environment becomes increasingly complex,single-function EM materials can hardly resist the increasing electromagnetic interference(EMI),and there is an urgent need to develop multifunctional EM *** this work,multifunctional WSe_(2)/Co_(3)C was prepared by simple hydrothermal *** dielectric performance and EM response were *** absorption,shielding performance,and energy conversion devices were *** tailoring the loading content,WSe_(2)/Co_(3)C can switch between EM absorption and EMI *** maximum shielding effectiveness(SE)of WSe_(2)/Co_(3)C reached 36 dB,and high reflection loss(RL)of-60.28 dB and wide effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 6.16 GHz can be obtained at low *** multiple EM attenuation mechanisms brought by the combination of two-dimensional(2D)WSe_(2) and magnetic Co_(3)C are considered to be the main reason for the enhanced EM attenuation *** WSe_(2)/Co_(3)C composite provides a viable candidate for developing multifunctional EM materials in 2–18 GHz.

With the trend of multiple energies or flexible demand in power systems,binary variables appear in systemwide constraints,which are the foundation of marginal pricing currently in *** appropriate pricing method incentivizes compliance of market participants;otherwise,compliance can be incentivized by paying discriminatory uplift payments which jeopardize transparency of *** paper proposes two theorems to examine whether the binary variables brought by multiple energies and flexible demand will impact compliance under marginal *** first theorem shows sufficient conditions with which marginal pricing with fixed binary variables incentivizes compliance,while the second theorem shows sufficient conditions to require uplift *** improve transparency by reducing uplift payments under cases which fall into the second theorem,this paper further proposes a pricing method by combining 1)designed constraints to price binary variables in system-wide constraints,and 2)convex hull pricing to price binary variables in private *** of the proposed theorems and pricing method is verified in an electricity-gas case(consisting of the IEEE 30-bus system and the NGS 10-node system)and the IEEE 118-bus test system.

Objective Accurate infant brain parcellation is crucial for understanding early brain development;however,it is challenging due to the inherent low tissue contrast,high noise,and severe partial volume effects in infant magnetic resonance images(MRIs).The aim of this study was to develop an end-to-end pipeline that enabled accurate parcellation of infant brain *** We proposed an end-to-end pipeline that employs a two-stage global-to-local approach for accurate parcellation of infant brain ***,in the global regions of interest(ROIs)localization stage,a combination of transformer and convolution operations was employed to capture both global spatial features and fine texture features,enabling an approximate localization of the ROIs across the whole *** the local ROIs refinement stage,leveraging the position priors from the first stage along with the raw MRIs,the boundaries of the ROIs are refined for a more accurate *** We utilized the Dice ratio to evaluate the accuracy of parcellation *** on 263 subjects from National Database for Autism Research(NDAR),Baby Connectome Project(BCP)and Cross-site datasets demonstrated the better accuracy and robustness of our method than other competing *** Our end-to-end pipeline may be capable of accurately parcellating 6-month-old infant brain MRIs.

The migration of protons during the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is a key factor that affects the performance of OER *** enhance proton transportation,we designed a catalyst based on nickel/iron-pyromellitic acid(NiFe-PMA)prepared by the electrochemical deposition *** catalyst exhibited a low overpotential of 188 mV at a current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2),a Tafel slope of 28.2 mV·dec^(-1),and long-term stability for 30 days with a current of 50 mA·cm^(-2).We characterized the NiFe-PMA catalyst using various techniques,including Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,Raman spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry(ICP-OES).Our results showed that NiFe-PMA contains nickel,iron atoms,and both coordinated and uncoordinated carboxylate ***,XPS data confirmed that carboxylate ligands could adjust the outer electronic structure of metal ions,resulting in the high valence state of Ni in *** result of XAS indicated that the nickel atoms present in the catalyst might be easier to maintain a higher chemical *** investigations using kinetic isotope effects(KIEs)and proton inventory revealed that the uncoordinated carboxylic protons played a crucial role in receiving protons during the OER,which promoted the proton transfer of the rate-determining step of the *** novel electrocatalysts provide a new strategy for designing more active and cost-effective catalysts for the OER.
