Effect of foreign ions for the determination of metal ion in the presence of surfactants

Aluminum is the third most abundant metal in the Earth’s *** its ubiquitous nature it is present in small amount in living *** toxicity has been implicated in the pathogenesis of renal distinct clinical syndromes,including progressive and fatal encephalopathy and bone *** the present study,Al was selected for the analysis by complexometric *** method was based on the formation of a red colored ternary complex by the reaction of Aluminum with Aluminon(Aurin tricarboxylic acid triammonium salt)in the presence of micellar *** ternary complex of Aluminum with the surfactant Triton X-100 shows a maximum absorbance at 530 nm wavelength at pH 4.0 while with the sodium dodecyl sulfate it shows a maximum absorbance at 525 nm and at pH *** reaction was proceeded by the variation in pH and concentrations of surfactants,aluminon,*** effects on the reaction of aluminum with aluminon complex in micellar media were recorded by UV-visible *** reaction was found to be extremely rapid at room *** system obeys Lambert Beer’s law between 0.24 and 21.74μg/mL concentrations with Triton *** values of slope,intercept and correlation coefficients were 0.07,0.348 and 0.989,*** concentration varied between 0.24 and 24.14μg/mL with sodium dodecyl sulfate and the values of slope,intercept and correlation coefficients were 0.029,0.148 and 0.962,*** foreign ion effect was also tested by keeping the constant concentration of metal ion and determining its concentration in the presence of different foreign *** method was also applied for the determination of Al(III)in pharmaceutical formulations and water samples,which showed an excellent resemblance between reported and obtained results.

Hepatic manifestations of non-steroidal inflammatory bowel disease therapy

Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) is composed of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and is manifested by both bowel-related and extraintestinal manifestations. Recently the number of therapeutic options available to treat IBD has dramatically increased, with each new medication having its own mechanism of action and side effect profile. A complete understanding of the hepatotoxicity of these medications is important in order to distinguish these complications from the hepatic manifestations of IBD. This review seeks to evaluate the hepatobiliary complications of non-steroid based IBD medications and aide providers in the recognition and management of these side-effects.

Hydrodynamics characterization in terms ofﬂow regime behavior is a crucial task to enhance the design of bubble column reactors and scaling up related *** review presents recent studies on the typicalﬂow regimes established in bubble *** effort is also provided to introduce relevant deﬁnitions pertaining to thisﬁeld,namely,that of“void fraction”and related(local,chordal,cross-sectional and volumetric)*** studies involving different parameters that affect design and operating conditions are also discussed in *** the second part of the review,the attention is shifted to cases with internals of various types(perfo-rated plates,bafﬂes,vibrating helical springs,mixers,and heat exchanger tubes)immersed in the bubble *** is shown that the presence of these elements has a limited inﬂuence on the global column ***,they can make the homogeneousﬂow regime more stable in terms of transition gas velocity and transi-tion holdup *** last section is used to highlight gaps which have not beenﬁlled yet and future directions of investigation.

These days,imbalanced datasets,denoted throughout the paper by ID,(a dataset that contains some(usually two)classes where one contains considerably smaller number of samples than the other(s))emerge in many real world problems(like health care systems or disease diagnosis systems,anomaly detection,fraud detection,stream based malware detection systems,and so on)and these datasets cause some problems(like under-training of minority class(es)and over-training of majority class(es),bias towards majority class(es),and so on)in classification process and ***,these datasets take the focus of many researchers in any science and there are several solutions for dealing with this *** main aim of this study for dealing with IDs is to resample the borderline samples discovered by support Vector Data Description(sVDD).There are naturally two kinds of resampling:Under-sampling(U-s)and oversampling(O-s).The O-s may cause the occurrence of over-fitting(the occurrence of over-fitting is its main drawback).The U-s can cause the occurrence of significant information loss(the occurrence of significant information loss is its main drawback).In this study,to avoid the drawbacks of the sampling techniques,we focus on the samples that may be *** data points that can be misclassified are considered to be the borderline data points which are on border(s)between the majority class(es)and minority class(es).First by sVDD,we find the borderline examples;then,the data resampling is applied over *** the next step,the base classifier is trained on the newly created ***,we compare the result of our method in terms of Area Under Curve(AUC)and F-measure and G-mean with the other state-of-the-art *** show that our method has betterresults than the other state-of-the-art methods on our experimental study.

securing digital image data is a key concern in today’s information-driven *** encryption techniques are required to protect sensitive image data,with the substitution-box(s-box)often playing a pivotal role in many symmetric encryption *** study introduces an innovative approach to creating s-boxes for encryption *** proposed s-boxes are tested for validity and non-linearity by incorporating them into an image encryption *** nonlinearity measure of the proposed s-boxes is *** qualities significantly enhance its resistance to common cryptographic attacks,ensuring high image data ***,to assess the robustness of the s-boxes,an encryption system has also been proposed and the proposed s-boxes have been integrated into the designed encryption *** validate the effectiveness of the proposed encryption system,a comprehensive security analysis including brute force attack and histogram analysis has been *** addition,to determine the level of security during the transmission and storage of digital content,the encryption system’s Number of Pixel Change Rate(NPCR),and Unified Averaged Changed Intensity(UACI)are *** results indicate a 99.71%NPCR and 33.51%*** results demonstrate that the proposed s-boxes offer a significant level of security for digital content throughout its transmission and storage.

Vitreous microparticles contain apoptotic signals suggesting a diabetic vitreopathy

AIM:To evaluate differences in microparticle profiles in vitreous samples between diabetic and non-diabetic eyes undergoing ***:Un-masked cross-sectional series of 34 eyes undergoing *** specimens were collected and processed to evaluate for membrane integrity(DAPI),apoptosis(Annexin-V),and endothelial-cell origin(V-Cadherin).A BD LsR II flow cytometer was used for analysis and standardized sub-micron-sized beads were used for size ***:Thirty-four specimens underwent *** levels of Annexin-V were found on microparticles from specimens in which blood had entered the vitreous(n=12)compared to those without blood(n=22;52.3%±30.7%vs 19.6%±27.2%,P=0.002).Patients with diabetes having surgery with hemorrhage(n=7)had greater expression of Annexin-V than those without hemorrhage(n=8;62.1%±31.7%vs 18.9%±20.9%,P=0.009).However,in patients with non-diabetic vitreous hemorrhage,the level of Annexin-V expression was not significantly different compared to other disease processes(38.6%±25.7%,n=5 vs 20.0%±30.9%,n=14,P=0.087).CONCLUsION:Increased expression of the apoptotic marker,Annexin-V is detected on vitreous microparticles in diabetes-related vitreous *** evaluating vitreous hemorrhage in patients without diabetes,the apoptotic signal is not significantly *** in patients with diabetes,and improvement in visual outcomes,may be related to the removal of a serumderived,pro-apoptotic *** investigation is warranted in order to identify the molecular characteristics of microparticles that regulate disease.

Combination therapy for inflammatory bowel disease

Biologic therapies such as infliximab and adalimumab have become mainstays of treatment for inflammatory bowel disease. Early studies suggested that combination therapy(CT) with infliximab and an immunomodulator drug such as azathioprine may help optimize biologic pharmacokinetics, minimize immunogenicity, and improve outcomes. The landmark sONIC trial in Crohn's disease and the UC sUCCEss trial in ulcerative colitis demonstrated CT with infliximab and azathioprine to be superior to monotherapy with either agent alone at inducing clinical remission in treatment na?ve patients with moderate to severe disease. However, many unanswered questions linger. The role of CT in non-naive patients as well as the optimal duration of CT remains unknown. The effectiveness of CT with alternate biologics and/or alternate immunomodulators is not as clear, and it is unknown whether sONIC's conclusions can be extrapolated beyond infliximab and azathioprine. Also looming are the risks of CT including opportunistic infection and malignancy; specifically, lymphoma. This review lays out the evidence as it pertains to the risks and benefits of CT as well as the areas that require further research. With this information in hand, the practitioner may develop a treatment strategy that best suits each individual patient.

Early selection of bread wheat genotypes using morphological and photosynthetic attributes conferring drought tolerance

Genetic diversity is the base of any genetic improvement breeding program aimed at stress *** variability among breeding materials is of primary importance in the achievements of a good crop ***,105 wheat genotypes were screened against drought stress using factorial completely randomized design at seedling stage to determine the genetic diversity and traits association conferring drought *** of variances revealed that all the studied parameters differed significantly among all genotypes,indicating the significance genetic variability existed among all genotypes for studied *** 10 best performance genotypes G1,G6,G11,G16,G21,G26,G39,G44,G51,and G61 were screened as drought tolerant,while five lowest performance genotypes G3,G77,G91,G98,and G105 were screened as drought *** length,chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b,and carotenoid contents were significantly correlated among themselves which exhibited the importance of these indices for rainfed areas in future wheat breeding *** length exhibited non-significant and negative association with other studied traits,and its selection seems not to be a promising criteria for this germplasm for drought *** performance genotypes under drought stress conditions will be useful in future wheat breeding program and early selection will be effective for developing high yielding and drought tolerant wheat varieties.
