This 121-day experiment eval.ated the rearing performance of brown trout Sal.o trutta fed one of two isonitrogenous and isocal.ric diets and reared at vel.cities of either 2.8 or 16.1 cm/s. Fishmeal.was the primary protein source for the reference diet, and bioprocessed soybean meal.repl.ced approximatel. 67% of the fishmeal.in the experimental.diet. At the end of the experiment, there were no significant differences in gain, percent gain, feed conversion rates, or specific growth rates between the dietary treatments. There were al.o no significant differences in intestinal.morphol.gy, spl.nosomatic, hepatosomatic, and viscerosomatic indices rel.ted to diet composition. However, gain, percent gain, feed fed, and specific growth rate were al. significantl. greater in brown trout reared at the higher vel.city. No significant differences in any of the other variabl.s measured were observed between the vel.city treatments. There were no significant interactions between diet and vel.city in any of the variabl.s. Based on the resul.s of this study, bioprocessed soybean meal.can repl.ce at l.ast 67% of the fishmeal.in brown trout diets, regardl.ss of the rearing vel.cities used in this study. However, higher rearing vel.cities are recommended to maximize juvenil. brown trout growth rates.

In this contribution, robust faul. detection probl.ms for discrete time-del.y systems with l.-norm bounded unknown inputs are studied. The basic idea of our study is first to introduce a state-memoryl.ss observer-based faul. detection fil.er (FDF) as the residual.generator and then to formul.te such a FDF design probl.m as an Hen optimization probl.m in the sense of increasing the sensitivity of residual.to the faul.s, whil. simul.aneousl. enhancing the robustness of residual.to unknown input as wel. as pl.nt input. The main resul.s consist of the formul.tion of such a residual.generation optimization probl.m, sol.abil.ty conditions and the derivation of an anal.tic sol.tion. The residual.eval.ation probl.m is al.o considered, which incl.des the determination of residual.eval.ation function and threshol.. A numerical.exampl. is used to demonstrate the proposed faul. detection scheme.

In this study, we report the fabrication of engineered iron oxide magnetic nanoparticl.s (MNPs)functional.zed with anti-human epidermal.growth factor receptor type 2 (HER2) antibody totarget the tumor antigen HER2. The Fc-directed conjugation of antibodies to the MNPs aidstheir efficient immunospecific targeting through free Fab portions. The directional.specificity ofconjugation was verified on a macrophage cel. l.ne. Immunofl.orescence studies on macrophagestreated with functional.zed MNPs and free anti-HER2 antibody reveal.d that the antibodymol.cul.s bind to the MNPs predominantl. through their Fc portion. Different cel. l.nes with different HER2 expression l.vel. were used to test the specificity of our functional.zed nanoprobe formol.cul.r targeting appl.cations. The resul.s of cel. l.ne targeting demonstrate that these engineered MNPs are abl. to differentiate between cel. l.nes with different l.vel. of HER2 expression.

Microdial.sis is a technique used to measure the unbound antibiotic concentration in the interstitial.spaces, the target site of action. In vitro recovery studies are essential.to cal.brating the microdial.sis system for in vivo studies. The effect of a combination of antibiotics on recovery into microdial.sate requires investigation. In vitro microdial.sis recovery studies were conducted on a combination of vancomycin and tobramycin, in a simul.ted in vivo model. Comparison was made between recoveries for three different concentrations and three different perfusate fl.w rates. The overal. rel.tive recovery for vancomycin was l.wer than that of tobramycin. For tobramycin, a concentration of 20μg/ml.and fl.w rate of 1.0μl.min had the best recovery. A concentration of 5.0μg/ml.and fl.w rate of 1.0μl.min yiel.ed maximal.recovery for vancomycin. l.rge mol.cul.r size and higher protein binding resul.ed in l.wer rel.tive recoveries for vancomycin. Perfusate fl.w rates and drug concentrations affected the rel.tive recovery when a combination of vancomycin and tobramycin was tested. l.w perfusate fl.w rates were associated with higher recovery rates. For combination antibiotic measurement which incl.des agents that are highl. protein bound, in vitro studies performed prior to in vivo studies may ensure the rel.abl. measurement of unbound concentrations.

In the present study, ozone was introduced as an al.ernative approach to harvest and disrupt microal.ae cel.s (Chl.rel.a vul.aris) simul.aneousl. for biodiesel.production. At the optimum ozonation conditions (6.14 g·h^(−1) ozone concentration, 30 min ozonation time, 1 l.min^(−1) of ozone fl.wrate at medium pH of 10 and temperature of 30℃), the sedimentation efficiency of microal.ae cel.s increased significantl. from 12.56% to 68.62%. It was observed that the microal.ae cel.s aggregated to form fl.cs after pretreated with ozone due to the increment of surface charge from −20 to −6.59 mV. Besides, ozone had successful.y disrupted the microal.ae cel.s and resul.ed in efficient l.pid extraction, which was 1.9 times higher than the control.sampl.. The extracted microal.ae l.pid was mainl. consisted of methyl.pal.itate (C16:0), methyl.ol.ate (C18:1) and methyl.l.nol.nate (C18:3), making it suitabl. for biodiesel.production. Final.y, util.zation of recycl.d cul.ure media after ozonation pre-treatment showed robust growth of microal.ae, in which the biomass yiel. was maintained in the range of 0.796 to 0.879 g ·h^(−1) for 5 cycl.s of cul.ivation.
