A novel non-invasive method for predicting bone mineral density and fracture risk using demographic and anthropometric measures

F1离子固化剂加固试验黄土机理及强度特性研究

为研究F1离子固化剂对黄土的加固效果和固化机理,利用不同掺量的F1离子固化剂加固试验黄土。从黏土颗粒表面化学入手,利用CBR试验、三轴压缩试验、SEM电镜扫描以及IPP6.0比表面/微孔隙分析软件,对F1离子固化剂加固试验黄土的CBR值、膨胀特性、强度参数和固化前后土体微观结构的变化规律进行了研究。结果表明:F1固化剂可减小土颗粒表面结合水膜的厚度,使土颗粒间的距离(或体积)减小、引力增大,在碾压时形成排列更加紧密、团聚体更大的层状堆叠结构,使得土体的孔隙面积百分比和形态分布分维数减小,土颗粒间的黏结强度、剪切强度、密实度和稳定性增强;在试验黄土中加入0.3 l/m^(3)(最佳掺入比)的F1溶液后,其摩擦角和黏聚力分别增大了1.17倍和1.55倍;F1固化剂通过离子交换作用占据了黏土颗粒表面的阴离子点位,阻碍了其对水分子的吸附,大幅减小了黏土颗粒的膨胀变形;F1固化剂具有绿色环保、加固效果良好等优点,在黄土地区土体填筑工程中有广阔的应用前景。

Characterization of spray deposition and drift from a low drift nozzle for aerial application at different application altitudes

A complex interaction of controllable and uncontrollable factors is involved in aerial application of crop production and protection *** it is difficult to completely characterize spray deposition and drift,these important factors can be estimated with appropriate sampling protocol and *** height is an important variable influencing off-target spray drift,but this variable has not been easily measured or logged.A custom-configured aircraft-mounted laser with logging capabilities makes this *** study was designed to investigate droplet size and deposition characteristics of a low drift CP flat-fan nozzle at application altitudes 3.7 m,4.9 m,and 6.1 *** the study,CP flat-fan nozzles were set to a downward angle of 30 degrees applying a mixture of water,Syl-Tac®adjuvant,and Rubidium Chloride(RbCl)tracer at a 28.5 l/ha application *** droplets were collected using water sensitive paper(WSP)cards placed in the spray *** sheets were also placed in the swath and downwind for drift *** analysis indicated that median droplet diameter as determined by WSP in the spray swath was not significantly influenced by spray application ***,statistical analysis also indicated that concentration of RbCl tracer from Mylar samplers in the spray swath was not significantly influenced by application *** height had a significant effect on spray deposition from drift samplers,along with wind direction and relative *** results for drift samplers may have been influenced by shifts in wind direction that altered the relationship between orientation of samplers and wind.

High-Throughput Chemotyping of Cannabis and Hemp Extracts Using an Ultraviolet Microplate Reader and Multivariate Classifiers

Background:large numbers of post-deployment *** are diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)and/or traumatic brain injury(TBI),leading to an urgent need for effective interventions to reduce symptoms and increase veterans’*** includes anxiety,flashbacks,and emotional *** symptoms increase health care costs for stress-related illnesses and can make veterans’civilian life ***:We used a randomized wait-list controlled design with repeated measures of *** veterans to address our specific aim to test the efficacy of a 6-week therapeutic horseback riding(THR)program for decreasing PTSD symptoms and increasing coping self-efficacy,emotion regulation,social and emotional *** participants were recruited and 29 enrolled in the randomized *** were randomly assigned to either the horse riding group(n=15)or a wait-list control group(n=14).The wait-list control group experienced a 6-week waiting period,while the horse riding group began *** wait-list control group began riding after 6 weeks of participating in the control *** and health history information was obtained from all the *** symptoms were measured using the standardized PTSD Checklist-Military Version(PCl-M).The PCl-M as well as other instruments including,The Coping Self Efficacy Scale(CSES),The Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale(DERS)and The Social and Emotional loneliness Scale for Adults-short version(SElSA)were used to access different aspects of individual well-being and the PTSD ***:Participants had a statistically significant decrease in PTSD scores after 3 weeks of THR(P≤0.01)as well as a statistically and clinically significant decrease after 6 weeks of THR(P≤0.01).logistic regression showed that participants had a 66.7%likelihood of having lower PTSD scores at 3 weeks and 87.5%likelihood at 6 *** the generalized linear model(GlM),our ANOVA findings for the coping self

An integrative multivariate approach for predicting functional recovery using magnetic resonance imaging parameters in a translational pig ischemic stroke model

The immune responses of humans and animals to insults(i.e., infections, traumas, tumoral transformation and radiation) are based on an intricate network of cells and chemical messengers. Abnormally high inflammation immediately after insult or abnormally prolonged proinflammatory stimuli bringing about chronic inflammation can lead to life-threatening or severely debilitating diseases. Mesenchymal stem cell(MSC) transplant has proved to be an effective therapy in preclinical studies which evaluated a vast diversity of inflammatory conditions. MSCs lead to resolution of inflammation, preparation for regeneration and actual regeneration, and then ultimate return to normal baseline or homeostasis. However, in clinical trials of transplanted MSCs, the expectations of great medical benefit have not yet been fulfilled. As a practical alternative to MSC transplant, a synthetic drug with the capacity to boost endogenous MSC expansion and/or activation may also be effective. Regarding this, IMT504, the prototype of a major class of immunomodulatory oligonucleotides, induces in vivo expansion of MSCs, resulting in a marked improvement in preclinical models of neuropathic pain, osteoporosis, diabetes and sepsis. IMT504 is easily manufactured and has an excellent preclinical safety record. In the small number of patients studied thus far, IMT504 has been well-tolerated, even at very high dosage. Further clinical investigation is necessary to demonstrate the utility of IMT504 for resolution of inflammation and regeneration in a broad array of human diseases that would likely benefit from an immunoprotective/immunoregenerative therapy.
