BACKGROUND Budd-Chiari syndrome(BCS)is a challenging indication for liver transplantation(LT)due to a combination of massive liver,increased bleeding,retroperitoneal fibrosis and frequently presents with stenosis of the inferior vena cava(IVC).Occasionally,it may be totally thrombosed,increasing the complexity of the procedure,as it should also be *** challenge is even greater when performing living-donor LT as the graft does not contain the retrohepatic IVC;thus,it may be necessary to reconstruct *** SUMMARY A 35-year-old male patient with liver cirrhosis due to BCS and hepatocellular carcinoma beyond the Milan criteria underwent living-donor LT with IVC *** was necessary to remove the IVC as its retrohepatic portion was completely thrombosed,up to almost the right atrium.A right-lobe graft was retrieved from his sister,with outflow reconstruction including the right hepatic vein and the branches of segment V and VIII to the middle hepatic *** to massive subcutaneous collaterals in the abdominal wall,venovenous bypass was implemented before incising the *** right atrium was reached via a transdiaphragramatic *** was performed en bloc with the retrohepatic vena *** was reconstructed with an infra-hepatic vena cava graft obtained from a deceased *** patient remains well on outpatient clinic follow-up 25 mo after the procedure,under an anticoagulation protocol with *** Living-donor LT in BCS with IVC thrombosis is feasible using a meticulous surgical technique and tailored strategies.

Summary： Introduction： Adolescence, is a life stage characterized by constant emotional instability and psychological conflicts. Analyzing the age of psychological transition of these adolescents along with the environment demands that those ones live, in conclusion, there are conflicts between particularities of intern and extern environment, besides self-knowledge of these adolescents, ending up in what we call AD （anxiety disorder）. Objective： Raise reader’s awareness about the early recognition of ADs and stress. Methodology： Based on literature review. The virtual library Scielo and the Latin American Journal of Nursing were mainly consulted. Results： The AD is characterized as a mental health disturbance, which has as main symptoms feelings of preoccupation, anxiety or fear which are strong enough to interfere in daily activities. Its detection should be as early as possible, therefore, primary health care is the most efficient to prevent and detect this illness. Conclusion： It is possible to assure that primary health care （periodical medical check） has great impact on detecting and preventing the anxiety disorder in adolescent, since mental health professionals have used many working instruments which are useful for detecting this illness.

Technical Evaluation of Hybrid Clones of Corymbia spp. to Produce Market Pulp

This study presents hybrid clones of Corymbia *** by Aperam BioEnergia as potential substitutes for Eucalyptus wood in the pulp *** biomass of Eucalyptus *** compared with that of Corymbia *** performing modified kraft pulping and basic density *** were made by analyzing their respective mean annual increments of cellulose(MAI_(cel))and specific wood consumption(SWC),estimated using a kappa number of(19±1).The results showed that one of the hybrid clones(Corymbia citriodora×Corymbia torelliana,ID 4)had higher basic wood density,higher screened yield,better MAI_(cel#k19),and lower SWC than the other samples,reaching values of 0.608 t/m^(3),54.1%,24.6 ADt/ha/year(i.e.,air dry ton/hectare/year),and 2.74 m^(3)/ADt,***,clone ID 4 had the highest MAI_(cel)/SWC ratio score(8.98).Given its high forest productivity and low industrial cost compared with other samples,as well as its advantages over Eucalyptus ***,we concluded that clone ID 4 has great potential as an alternative biomass for pulp production.

Synthesis, Characterization, Spectral Properties and Electrochemical of Compounds trans-[Ru(NH)₃L(bpa)]²⁺

n this work, we present synthesis of the compounds trans-[Ru(NH3)4L(bpa)]2+ where L is pyridine ligands: pyridine (py), isonicotinamide (isn), 4-acetylpyridine (4-acpy) and 4-picoline (4-pic) and 1,2-bis (4-pyridyl) ethane (bpa), their characterization by UV-visible spectroscopy and electrochemical properties. This series shows intense bands in the region between 400 and 515 nm, allocated bands charge transfer (MLCT), the influence of substituents on the pyridine ring (4-acpy and isn), and the interaction between the ligand and the metal, causing a second MLCT band, which is lighter and has more energy. The compound is characterized by spectroscopy by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The displacement observed in the symmetrical stretching of νs(CCN) group in the complex compared with the νs(CCN) group in the free ligand is indicative of coordination of the pyridine group to the Ruthenium (II) metallic center. The electrochemical data (cyclic voltammetry) show that reversibility criteria are well defined and formal Ef potential, indicating the influence of the pyridine ring substituent.

The CD133/1<sup>+</sup>cell subset from human subcutaneous adult fat retains hemogenic potential

Research has shown that cells from adult fat tissue can effect long-term blood reconstitution. Fat-derived multipotentiality was ascribed to CD34+ perivascular populations from its prominent microvasculature, that represent mostly non-hemogenic, mesenchymal cells, although this tissue contains a CD34+45+ subset committed to a hemogenic fate. Here, in order to analyze cell subsets presenting hemogenic capabilities within fat, CD133/1+ and pericytes, the latter defined by CD140b (PDGFRb, Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Receptor Beta) expression, were immunomagnetically selected from stromal-vascular fractions (SVF). In Vitro Colony Forming Unit (CFU) assays were negative for CD140b+ pericytes and positive for CD133/1+ cells when a prolonged CFU assay was performed, revealing fat as another store of primitive progenitors that retain hemogenic potential.

River Network and the Risk of Flooding for the Railway and Subway Systems in the City of Sao Paulo, Brazil

This study investigated the risk of flooding along the Sao Paulo city＇s railway network and showed its latest technologies. To that end, we took into account topographic and hydrological features, as well as possible interferences of the flooding phenomenon with the optimal operation of the railway system. When preparing the maps and the flooding risk analysis, we used data from project SRTM （Shuttle Radar Topography Mission） integrated and processed in a GIS （geographical information system）, through version 2.14 of the geoprocessing software ＂QGis＂. Results showed risk exposure for logistics operations of the railway system for the transportation of passengers, especially in the Central and Eastern regions of the city, where there is a higher concentration of points of flooding, thus making it more difficult for passengers to come and go in the greatest city of Brazil.

Atmospheric Pollutants in a Commercial Region of Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil: Integration of Health, Environment and Economy in Urban Planning to Improve Air Quality

The accelerated growth of the vehicular fleet, the modernization of large urban centers, and the few adjustments to the road network in Fortaleza have intensified the problems of traffic and emissions of atmospheric pollutants, highlighting the necessity for strategic urban planning initiatives to address the escalating issues of traffic and pollution. With the objective of analyzing the indices of concentrations of atmospheric pollutants and estimating how these levels can affect human health, this work consists of a study of the analysis of air quality in the intense trade region of Fortaleza. For this, the analysis zone was divided into three perimeters (Major - Medium - Minor), where each perimeter was analyzed at 7 am, 12 noon and 5 pm. Concentrations of the type of O3, particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), CO2 and HCHO were collected. Our results demonstrate that most of the analyses are within the limits of current legislation;however, at certain times and perimeters, the analyses of CO2 and HCHO exceeded the established limits. In view of the above, we conclude that public policies to control air quality are necessary to reduce the damage to human health and the environment caused by pollutants.

Assessment of Short-term Acupuncture Effect Through Electro-conductivity Variation of Yuan-Source Acupoints

Objective: To demonstrate that acupuncture has an instant effect in equilibrating the imbalanced electrical conductivity of Yuan-Source acupoints after intervention on the Luo-Connecting acupoint(one-side) of the same ***: The experiment was designed as a randomized blinded control trial, with 56 volunteers. Reactive Electrical Permeable Points(REPP-mostly Yuan points) were measured in terms of electrical conductivity. Patients with a split-meridian(difference between left and right measurement) were randomly included in the control or experimental group. After five minutes of needle insertion in a Luo acupoint, the needle was removed and REPP were re-measured twice within a five minutes ***: From the 56 volunteers, 32 had a valid Split-Meridian Difference(SMD > 20 μA) and were included in the study. The results indicate that after the third measurement(15 minutes-M3), 100% of the experimental group had SMD 20 μA, at M3, when compared with the initial measurement(M1). Results obtained between the experimental and control group are significantly different(p< 0.001).Conclusions: The present exploratory work indicates that there is evidence of instant body response to acupuncture that can be detected by changes in the electro-conductivity of specific acupoints.

Nest site selection and reproductive parameters of the threatened Atlantic Royal Flycatcher(Onychorhynchus swainsoni)and their significance for conservation

Background:Patterns of rarity can be explained by reproductive rates,levels of endemism,and habitat specificity,and knowledge on these parameters is important to understand the levels of vulnerability of each species and to formulate conservation ***,we studied nest-site selection and breeding biology of the Atlantic Royal Flycatcher(Onychorhynchus swainsoni),a poorly known vulnerable bird endemic to the Brazilian Atlantic ***:We addressed nest site selection in three different levels:first,we searched for nests near and far from water to investigate whether birds could select water proximities to construct nests;second,we examined if they could select certain streams in detriment of others,and we analyzed the characteristics of used and non-used streams,and third,in streams in which nests were found,we addressed nest site selectivity by comparing a number of parameters between nest sites and random ***,we provide information on breeding biology parameters related to annual ***:During five breeding seasons,we found 23 nests in a well-preserved forest *** of the nests were constructed above water,and they were found in streams that were about 4 m in width,instead of smaller streams with about 1.5 m in *** analyses revealed that within the used streams,nests were constructed in sites with lower vegetation density in relation to random points,while stream width,water speed,and canopy cover presented no significant *** Royal Flycatchers in our study had a 22-day incubation period and 24 to 27-day nestling *** nest survival was comparatively high(62%),but clutch size was small(N=2 eggs)and Along the nesting streams,we found an average of 1.62±0.07 breeding pairs/***:These data suggest that nesting habitat specificity and low annual fecundity are among the factors contributing to the rarity of the Atlantic Royal Flycatcher in large forest continuums and to its absenc
