Limited information is available on the genetic analysis of amino acid composition in soybean seeds. Previously, quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for seed isoflavones, protein, oil, and fatty acids were identified in the “Md96-5722” by “Spencer” and other RIL populations. There were wide variations for these seed constituents among the RIL populations. Therefore, the objective of this study was to identify QTLs controlling different amino acids content in soybean seeds. To achieve this objective, ninety-two F5:7 recombinant inbred lines (RIL), developed from a cross of Md96-5722 and Spencer, using a total 5376 Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNPs) markers, were used. The RILs were genotyped by using 537 polymorphic, reliably segregating SNP markers, developed from the Illumina Infinium SoySNP6K BeadChip array. A total of 13 QTLs were identified with three QTLs for threonine on the linkage group (LG) A1, C2, and B2. Two QTLs were identified for each of the amino acids proline on LG d1a and B2, serine on LG A1 and C2, tryptophan on LG K and G, and cysteine on LG A1 and K. One QTL was identified for arginine on LG N and histidine on LG J. The new QTLs findings for seed amino acid will facilitate the development of soybean cultivars with higher protein and amino acid quality to help meet the industry and consumer needs.

Meteorological data is useful for varied applications and sectors ranging from weather and climate forecasting, landscape planning to disaster management among others. However, the availability of these data requires a good network of manual meteorological stations and other support systems for its collection, recording, processing, archiving, communication and dissemination. In sub-Saharan Africa, such networks are limited due to low investment and capacity. To bridge this gap, the National Meteorological Services in Kenya and few others from African countries have moved to install a number of Automatic Weather Stations (AWSs) in the past decade including a few additions from private institutions and individuals. Although these AWSs have the potential to improve the existing observation network and the early warning systems in the region, the quality and capacity of the data collected from the stations are not well exploited. This is mainly due to low confidence, by data users, in electronically observed data. In this study, we set out to confirm that electronically observed data is of comparable quality to a human observer recorded data, and can thus be used to bridge data gaps at temporal and spatial scales. To assess this potential, we applied the simple Pearson correlation method and other statistical tests and approaches by conducting inter-comparison analysis of weather observations from the manual synoptic station and data from two Automatic Weather Stations (TAHMO and 3d-PAWS) co-located at KMd Headquarters to establish existing consistencies and variances in several weather parameters. Results show there is comparable consistency in most of the weather parameters between the three stations. Strong associations were noted between the TAHMO and manual station data for minimum (r = 0.65) and maximum temperatures (r = 0.86) and the maximum temperature between TAHMO and 3dPAWS (r = 0.56). BACKGROUNd Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBd)have been associated with a low quality of life(QoL)and a negative impact on work productivity compared to the general *** about disease control,patient-reported outcomes(PROs),treatment patterns and use of healthcare resources is relevant to optimizing IBd *** To describe QoL and work productivity and activity impairment(WPAI),treatment patterns and use of healthcare resources among IBd patients in *** A multicenter cross-sectional study included adult outpatients who were previously diagnosed with moderate to severe Crohn’s disease(Cd)or ulcerative colitis(UC).At enrolment,active Cd and UC were defined as having a Harvey Bradshaw Index≥8 or a Cd Activity Index≥220 or calprotectin>200μg/g or previous colonoscopy results suggestive of inadequate control(per investigator criteria)and a 9-point partial Mayo score≥5,*** PRO assessment included the QoL questionnaires SF-36 and EQ-5d-5L,the Inflammatory Bowel disease Questionnaire(IBdQ),and the WPAI *** about healthcare resources and treatment during the previous 3 years was collected from medical ***-square,Fisher’s exact and Student’s t-/Mann-Whitney U tests were used to compare PROs,treatment patterns and the use of healthcare resources by disease activity(α=0.05).RESULTS Of the 407 patients in this study(Cd/UC:64.9%/35.1%,mean age 42.9/45.9 years,54.2%/56.6%female,38.3%/37.1%employed),44.7%/25.2%presented moderate-to-severe Cd/UC activity,respectively,at *** in median values for Cd/UC,respectively,the SF-36 physical component was 46.6/44.7 and the mental component was 45.2/44.2,the EQ-visual analog scale score was 80.0/70.0,and the IBdQ overall score was 164.0/*** to severe activity,female gender,being unemployed,a lower educational level and lower income were associated with lower QoL(Pdian work productivity impairment was 20%and 5%for Cd and UC patients,re

Background: Good knowledge of diseases’ epidemiology, diagnostic methods and treatment schemes are critical for early detection and effective management of dengue and chikungunya outbreaks. Here, we assessed knowledge and practices regarding dengue and chikungunya among health care workers of some health facilities of Yaoundé and its surroundings. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted from January to August 2020 in 35 health facilities of Yaoundé and its surroundings. Structured pre-tested questionnaire including 11 questions was used to assess healthcare workers’ (i) knowledge on dengue and chikungunya (pathogen, mode of transmission, signs and symptoms) and, (ii) management practices (diagnosis, prevention and treatment measures). Face to face interviews were conducted with healthcare workers including medical doctors, nurses, medical assistants and laboratory assistants. Findings: A total of 232 healthcare workers were interviewed. despite that 40.95% (n = 95) of respondents had heard about dengue and chikungunya, only 4.74% (n = 11) of them were aware of the fact that both diseases are caused by virus. Also, 9 out of 232 (3.88%) knew that these diseases were transmitted by the bite of an Aedes mosquito. About 15.52% (n = 36) were able to give at least 1 clinical symptom related to dengue and chikungunya. The main diagnostic method they knew was Polymerase Chain Reaction (3.02%;n = 7). For prevention, many participants indicated vector control by using insecticide treated bednets or destroying potential breeding sites (14.23%;n = 33). Only few participants 3.88% (n = 9) knew how to manage dengue or chikungunya cases. To improve the management of both diseases, a significant proportion of healthcare workers (37.93%;n = 88) reported being in need of additional training. 子宫黏液样平滑肌肉瘤是一种罕见且具侵袭性的恶性肿瘤,易误诊为良性,目前遗传学改变尚不明确。作者选取19例既往诊断为子宫黏液样平滑肌肉瘤或具有黏液样特征的平滑肌肉瘤,分析其临床病理、免疫表型及分子学特征。该系列肿瘤均进行RNA测序,并通过免疫组化标记BCOR、PLAG1和ALK(d5F3)和FISH检测PLAG1、BCOR、BCORL1、HMGA2和ALK基因,排除4例伴BCOR和ALK重排的黏液样肿瘤。剩余15例确诊为黏液样平滑肌肉瘤。患者中位年龄为50岁,其中8例FIGO分期分别为I期(3例)、II期(2例)、Ⅲ(2例)和Ⅳ(1例);另7例分期情况不明。肿瘤直径为10~24 cm,所有病例肿瘤基质均呈黏液样,其中2例伴嗜酸性。肿瘤细胞呈梭形或上皮样形,细胞核伴轻至重度异型,核分裂数d51B-PLAG1基因融合,且经FISH证实存在PLAG1重排;而有无PLAG1基因融合患者,其组织学特征上并无差异。

Chronic functional mitral regurgitation(FMR) is a frequent finding of ischemic heart disease and dilated cardiomyopathy(dCM), associated with unfavourable prognosis. Several pathophysiologic mechanisms are involved in FMR, such as annular dilatation and dysfunction, left ventricle(LV) remodeling, dysfunction and dyssynchrony, papillary muscles displacement and dyssynchrony. The best therapeutic choice for FMR is still debated. When optimal medical treatment has already been set, a further option for cardiac resynchronization therapy(CRT) and/or surgical correction should be considered. CRT is able to contrast most of the pathophysiologic determinants of FMR by minimizing LV dyssynchrony through different mechanisms: Increasing closing forces, reducing tethering forces, reshaping annular geometry and function, correcting diastolic MR. deformation imaging in terms of two-dimensional speckle tracking has been validated for LV dyssynchrony assessment. Radial speckle tracking and three-dimensional strain analysis appear to be the best methods to quantify intraventricular delay and to predict CRT-responders. Speckle-tracking echocardiography in patients with mitral valve regurgitation has been usually proposed for the assessment of LV and left atrial function. However it has also revealed a fundamental role of intraventricular dyssynchrony in determining FMR especially in dCM, rather than in ischemic cardiomyopathy in which MR severity seems to be more related to mitral valve deformation indexes. Furthermore speckle tracking allows the assessment of papillary muscle dyssynchrony. Therefore this technique can help to identify optimal candidates to CRT that will probably demonstrate a reduction in FMR degree and thus will experience a better outcome.

despite the availability of whole genome sequences of apple and peach,there has been a considerable gap between genomics and *** bridge the gap,the European Union funded the FruitBreedomics project(March 2011 to August 2015)involving 28 research institutes and private *** complementary approaches were pursued:(i)tool and software development,(ii)deciphering genetic control of main horticultural traits taking into account allelic diversity and(iii)developing plant materials,tools and methodologies for *** breakthroughs were made including the making available of ready-to-go dNA diagnostic tests for Marker Assisted Breeding,development of new,dense SNP arrays in apple and peach,new phenotypic methods for some complex traits,software for gene/QTL discovery on breeding germplasm via Pedigree Based Analysis(PBA).This resulted in the discovery of highly predictive molecular markers for traits of horticultural interest via PBA and via Genome Wide Association Studies(GWAS)on several European genebank *** also developed pre-breeding plant materials in which multiple sources of resistance were pyramided and software that can support breeders in their selection *** FruitBreedomics,significant progresses were made in the field of apple and peach breeding,genetics,genomics and bioinformatics of which advantage will be made by breeders,germplasm curators and scientists.A major part of the data collected during the project has been stored in the FruitBreedomics database and has been made available to the *** review covers the scientific discoveries made in this major endeavour,and perspective in the apple and peach breeding and genomics in Europe and beyond.
