Cerebral ischemia is a major health risk that requires preventive approaches in addition to drug *** exercise enhances neurogenesis and synaptogenesis,and has been widely used for functional rehabilitation after *** this study,we determined whether exercise training before disease onset can alleviate the severity of cerebral *** also examined the role of exercise-induced circulating factors in these *** mice were subjected to 14 days of treadmill exercise training before surgery for middle cerebral artery *** found that this exercise pre-conditioning strategy effectively attenuated brain infarct area,inhibited gliogenesis,protected synaptic proteins,and improved novel object and spatial memory *** analysis showed that circulating adiponectin plays a critical role in these preventive effects of *** activation of adiponectin receptors by Adipo Ron mimicked the effects of exercise,while inhibiting receptor activation abolished the exercise *** summary,our results suggest a crucial role of circulating adiponectin in the effects of exercise pre-conditioning in protecting against cerebral ischemia and supporting the health benefits of exercise.

Large porewater exchange reshapes saltmarsh carbon and greenhouse gas budgets on local and global scales

saltmarshes are carbon-rich ecosystems that play a role in climate regulation by efficiently sequestrating atmospheric CO_(2).Climate change is a major threat to saltmarshes and will impact saltmarsh carbon ***,porewater-derived carbon outwelling emerges as a crucial pathway for carbon sequestration,but it has been largely overlooked in ***,we assessed the drivers of dissolved carbon exports and greenhouse gas emissions in a saltmarsh and placed those observations into a global *** our study site,porewater exchange(PEX)was the major process controlling dissolved carbon and greenhouse gas *** our results with 33 other studies in saltmarshes worldwide,porewater-derived carbon fluxes were equivalent to~48% of average global saltmarsh primary productivity and 2.2 times greater than global organic carbon ***,our local observations and global upscaling demonstrate the major role played by PEX in saltmarsh carbon *** part of dissolved inorganic carbon returns to the atmosphere as CO_(2),the remaining bicarbonate fraction is stored in the ocean over long time *** findings strengthen global blue carbon assessments and build arguments for the use of saltmarshes as nature-based solutions for global climate change.

Background Growing evidence attests to the efficacy of mindfulness-based interventions(MBIs),but their effectiveness for healthcare workers remains *** To evaluate the evidence for MBIs in improving healthcare workers’psychological *** A systematic literature search was conducted on Medline,Embase,Cumulative Index for Nursing and Allied Health Literature,PsycINFO and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials up to 31 August 2022 using the keywords‘healthcare worker’,‘doctor’,‘nurse’,‘allied health’,‘mindfulness’,‘wellness’,‘workshop’and‘program’.Randomised controlled trials with a defined MBI focusing on healthcare workers and quantitative outcome measures related to subjective or psychological well-being were eligible for inclusion.R V.4.0.3 was used for data analysis,with the standardised mean difference as the primary outcome,employing Dersimonian and Laird’s random effects *** of Recommendations,Assessment,Development and Evaluation framework was used to evaluate the quality of ***’s Risk of Bias 2 tool was used to assess the risk of bias in the included *** A total of 27 studies with 2506 participants were included,mostly from the UsA,involving various healthcare *** such as stress reduction programmes,apps,meditation and training showed small to large effects on anxiety,burnout,stress,depression,psychological distress and job strain outcomes of the *** effects were also seen in self-compassion,empathy,mindfulness and ***,long-term outcomes(1 month or longer postintervention)varied,and the effects were not consistently *** MBIs offer short-term benefits in reducing stress-related symptoms in healthcare *** review also highlights limitations such as intervention heterogeneity,reduced power in specific subgroup analyses and variable study quality.

Developmental defects of enamel are common due to genetic and environmental factors before and after ***42,a Rho family small GTPase,regulates prenatal tooth development in ***,its role in postnatal tooth development,especially enamel formation,remains ***,we investigated Cdc42 functions in mouse enamel development and tooth repair after ***42 showed highly dynamic temporospatial patterns in the developing incisors,with robust expression in ameloblast and odontoblast ***,epithelium-specific Cdc42 deletion resulted in enamel defects in *** differentiation was inhibited,and hypomineralization of enamel was observed upon epithelial Cdc42 *** analysis showed that abnormal mitochondrial components,phosphotransferase activity,and ion channel regulator activity occurred in the Cdc42 mutant dental *** oxygen species accumulation was detected in the mutant mice,suggesting that abnormal oxidative stress occurred after Cdc42 ***,Cdc42 mutant mice showed delayed tooth repair and generated less calcified *** dysfunction and abnormal oxygen consumption were evidenced by reduced Apool and Timm8a1 expression,increased Atp5j2 levels,and reactive oxygen species overproduction in the mutant repair ***-specific Cdc42 deletion attenuated ERK1/2 signaling in the labial cervical *** sox2 expression in the mutant labial cervical loop after clipping might lead to delayed tooth *** findings suggested that mitochondrial dysfunction,up-regulated oxidative stress,and abnormal ion channel activity may be among multiple factors responsible for the observed enamel defects in Cdc42 mutant ***,Cdc42 exerts multidimensional and pivotal roles in enamel development and is particularly required for ameloblast differentiation and enamel matrix formation.

Peyronie’s disease(PD)is a condition of penile connective tissue affecting up to 10%of men *** the complexity ofits management,nonsurgical treatments,such as intraplaque injections,are gaining *** current literature shows dataon the efficacy of intraplaque injections of hyaluronic acid(HA)mainly in acute-phase ***,data on injections of HA instable-phase PD are *** for this retrospective study were derived from a prospectively maintained database of privatepatients presenting at a private medical practice affiliated to the University of Naples“Federico II”(Naples,Italy)with stable-phasePD between January 2020 and March *** underwent a standard protocol of three injections,each administered at atwo-week *** the intervals,patients performed vacuum device therapy,penile stretching,and modeling *** compiled the Peyronie’s Disease Questionnaire(PDQ)and Global Assessment of Peyronie’s Disease(GAPD)at baselineand 2 weeks after the third injection.A penile Doppler ultrasound was performed 2 weeks after the last injection to record thefinal ***,we recruited 62 patients with stable-phase PD and a mean(±standard deviation[s.d.])curvature of52.7°(±9.7°).After 6 weeks,eight(12.9%)patients did not experience any curvature *** remaining 54 patientshad a final mean(±s.d.)curvature of 40.3°(±9.1°)with Ps(all P≤0.01),and 50(80.6%)patients reported subjective improvement of the penile curvature according to *** conclusion,we demonstrated that after three injections of HA administered according to the adopted protocol,patientswith stable-phase PD could experience significant improvements in penile curvature,and physical and psychological consequencesof the disease without significantly relevant side effects.

Dear Editor,Machine learning(ML) approaches have been widely employed to enable real-time ML-based stability assessment(MLsA) of largescale automated electricity grids. However, the vulnerability of MLsA to malicious cyber-attacks may lead to wrong decisions in operating the physical grid if its resilience properties are not well understood before deployment. Unlike adversarial ML in prior domains such as image processing, specific constraints of power systems that the attacker must obey in constructing adversarial samples require new research on MLsA vulnerability analysis for power systems.

针对“源网荷储一体化项目”(后简称一体化项目)在风光消纳率、清洁用电率等方面的建设要求,提出了计及源荷互补特性的一体化项目优化配置方法。基于包含风光发电制氢负荷、可平移工业负荷、电动汽车快充站的一体化项目拓扑,建立了一体化项目内部的多类型负荷用电功率模型。提出基于分时Copula函数生成时序一致的风光联合出力场景集的方法,进而提出分为风光额定功率配比优化、容量配置优化、负荷接入位置优化三阶段的一体化项目优化配置方法。通过算例分析对所提方法的可行性和有效性进行仿真验证。

The advent of modern geostationary satellite infrared radiance observations has noticeably improved numerical weather forecasts and ***,compared to midlatitude weather systems and tropical cyclones,research into using infrared radiance observations for numerically predicting and analyzing tropical mesoscale convective systems remain mostly *** tropical mesoscale convective systems play a crucial role in regional and global weather,this deficit should be *** study is the first of its kind to examine the potential impacts of assimilating all-sky upper tropospheric infrared radiance observations on the prediction of a tropical squall *** though these all-sky infrared radiance observations are not directly affected by lower-tropospheric winds,the high-frequency assimilation of these all-sky infrared radiance observations improved the analyses of the tropical squall line’s outflow *** from that,the assimilation of all-sky infrared radiance observations improved the analyses and prediction of the squall line’s cloud ***,reducing the frequency of assimilating these all-sky infrared radiance observations weakened these improvements to the analyzed outflow position,as well as the analyses and predictions of cloud fields.

We use a narrow-band approach to compute harmonic maps and conformal maps for surfaces embedded in the Euclidean 3-space,using point cloud data *** a surface,or a point cloud approximation,we simply use the standard cubic lattice to approximate itsϵ-*** the harmonic map of the surface can be approximated by discrete harmonic maps on *** conformal map,or the surface uniformization,is achieved by minimizing the Dirichlet energy of the harmonic map while deforming the target surface of constant *** propose algorithms and numerical examples for closed surfaces and topological *** the best of the authors’knowledge,our approach provides the first meshless method for computing harmonic maps and uniformizations of higher genus surfaces.
