Evaluating innovation ecosystem resiliency using agent-based modeling and systems dynamics

Proteomics techniques in protein biomarker discovery

Protein biomarkers represent specific biological activities and processes, so they have had a critical role in cancer diagnosis and medical care for more than 50 years. With the recent improvement in proteomics technologies, thousands of protein biomarker candidates have been developed for diverse disease states. Studies have used different types of samples for proteomics diagnosis. Samples were pretreated with appropriate techniques to increase the selectivity and sensitivity of the downstream analysis and purified to remove the contaminants. The purified samples were analyzed by several principal proteomics techniques to identify the specific protein. In this study, recent improvements in protein biomarker discovery, verification, and validation are investigated. Furthermore, the advantages, and disadvantages of conventional techniques, are discussed. Studies have used mass spectroscopy (MS) as a critical technique in the identification and quantification of candidate biomarkers. Nevertheless, after protein biomarker discovery, verification and validation have been required to reduce the false-positive rate where there have been higher number of samples. Multiple reaction monitoring (MRM), parallel reaction monitoring (PRM), and selected reaction monitoring (SRM), in combination with stable isotope-labeled internal standards, have been examined as options for biomarker verification, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for validation.

背景早前曾将2-氯普鲁卡因和布比卡因（C／B）联合用于区域麻醉，但因效果不确定而放弃。在这项前瞻性、双盲、随机研究中，我们比较了C／B联合-9利多卡因／布比卡因（L／B）联合的肌间沟阻滞的起效。方法30例拟在肌间沟阻滞下行肩关节镜术患者被分为2组，每组15例。一组（C／B）接受含有碳酸氢钠和肾上腺素的3％2．氯普鲁卡因，随即接受含肾上腺素的0．5％布比卡因；另一组（L／B）接受2％利多卡因而不用3％2．氯普鲁卡因。每15秒评估一次运动和感觉阻滞。主要的观察终点是完全运动阻滞的起效时间。使用时间-事件（生存率）统计分析检验。结果L／B组1例阻滞失败，被排除。C／B和L／B运动阻滞的中位数时间分别为90秒（15—575秒）和180秒（15．3720秒）（P=0．0325），C／B和L／B的感觉阻滞中位数时间分别为90秒（30～600秒）和210秒（30—3900秒）（P=0．0185）。生存分析显示，在第5分钟，C／B组15例患者中13例产生了成功的运动阻滞，而L／B组14例患者中只有7例。在第10分钟，C／B组15例患者全部产生了成功的运动阻滞，而L／B组14例中只有10例。对L／B组阻滞成功或失败的评价需时60分钟。结论本研究证明，肌间沟阻滞C／B比L／B较快达到成功阻滞。

Extensive neurodegeneration is a hallmark of traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) that underlies permanent sensorimotor and autonomic impairments (Alizadeh et al.,2019).Following the primary impact,the spinal cord undergoes a cascade of secondary injury mechanisms that are driven by disruption of the blood-spinal cord ba rrier,vascula r inju ry,glial reactivity,neu roinfla mmation,oxidative stress,lipid peroxidation,and glutamate excitotoxicity that culminate in neuronal and oligodendroglial cell death,demyelination,and axonal damage(Alizadeh et al.,2019).To achieve a meaningful functional recovery after SCI,regeneration of new neurons and oligodendrocytes and their successful growth and integration within the neural network are critical steps for reconstructing the damaged spinal cord tissue (Fischer et al.,2020).

Temperature effect on performance of nanoparticle/surfactant flooding in enhanced heavy oil recovery

Recently,nanoparticles have been used along with surfactants for enhancing oil *** the recent studies show that oil recovery is enhanced using nanoparticle/surfactant solutions,some effective parameters and mechanisms involved in the oil recovery have not yet been ***,the temperature effect on the stability of nanoparticle/surfactant solutions and ultimate oil recovery has been studied in this work,and the optimal concentrations of both SiO2 nanoparticle and surfactant(sodium dodecyl sulfate)have been determined by the Central Composite Design *** addition,the simultaneous effects of parameters and their interactions have been *** of the stability of the injected solutions indicates that the nanoparticle concentration is the most important factor affecting the solution *** surfactant makes the solution more stable if used in appropriate concentrations below the *** to the micromodel flooding results,the most effective factor for enhancing oil recovery is temperature compared to the nanoparticle and surfactant ***,in floodings with higher porous medium temperature,the oil viscosity reduction is considerable,and more oil is *** addition,the surfactant concentration plays a more effective role in reservoirs with higher *** other words,at a surfactant concentration of 250 ppm,the ultimate oil recovery is improved about 20%with a temperature increase of 20°***,when the surfactant concentration is equal to 750 ppm,the temperature increase enhances the ultimate oil recovery by only about 7%.Finally,the nanoparticle and surfactant optimum concentrations determined by Design-Expert software were equal to 46 and 159 ppm,*** is worthy to note that obtained results are validated by the confirmation test.

Optimal thermal design of anisotropic plates with arbitrary cutouts using genetic algorithm

Anisotropic plates in different applications may have geometric defects such as openings and *** presence of the opening disturbs the heat flow,which creates significant thermal stress around the *** the heat flux is high enough,these extreme stresses can lead to structural *** article aims to obtain the optimal parameters for achieving the minimum value of the normalized stress near the cutout’s boundary in perforated anisotropic plates utilizing the genetic *** parameters include the curvature of opening’s corners,orientation angle of opening,fibers angle,heat flux angle,and opening’s *** plate is under heat flux,and the opening’s border is thermally *** stress distribution around the opening is calculated using Lekhnitskii’s complex variable method and complex potential *** genetic algorithm is then implemented to find the optimal values for design *** results show that by selecting the optimal parameters related to the anisotropic material and the opening’s geometry,the stress intensity factor of the perforated anisotropic plates is remarkably ***,this optimization algorithm can be extended to find the optimized parameters and achieve the optimal designs in anisotropic and isotropic perforated plates under thermal loadings.

Relationship between quality of professional life and organizational commitment in intensive care unit nurses

Objective:The quality of professional life has attracted the attention of many managers owing to its importance,and organizational commitment differs according to work conditions in an *** the largest professional group in the healthcare system,nurses face many stressful factors that can endanger their quality of professional life and organizational *** their huge importance,these 2 variables have rarely been addressed or evaluated in the nursing *** present study was conducted to determine the relationship between quality of professional life and organizational commitment in nurses working in the intensive care units(ICUs)and critical care units(CCUs).Methods:The present descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 221 nurses working in the ICUs of hospitals affiliated to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and selected through proportional stratified *** data collection tools comprised demographic questionnaires,the quality of work-life questionnaire by Walton with 8 dimensions,and the valid and reliable organizational commitment scale by Meyer and *** data were analyzed in SPSS,version 23(IBM Corporation,Armonk,New York,United States),using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques,including Spearman correlation,Pearson correlation,the Kruskal-Wallis test,the Mann-Whitney U test,the c2 test,and the independent t test.P<0.050 was set as the level of statistical ***:The mean scores of quality of professional life and organizational commitment were 58.996±14.427 and 93.840±13.900,respectively,in the ICU *** Pearson test showed positive and significant relationships between quality of professional life and organizational commitment(r=0.392,P<0.001).Conclusions:Given the positive relationship found in the present study between organizational commitment and quality of professional life,it is recommended that organizational commitment be modified to improve the quality of profession

ORGANOSOLUBLE AND THERMALLY STABLE POLYIMIDES DERIVED FROM A NEW DIAMINE CONTAINING BULKY-FLEXIBLE TRIARYL PYRIDINE PENDENT GROUP

A novel kind of aromatic diamine, N-（4-（4-（2,6-diphenyl pyridine-4-yl） phenoxy） phenyl）-3,5-diaminobezamide （DPDAB）, was synthesized via aromatic nucleophilic substitution of 3,5-dinitrobenzoylchloride with 4-（4-（2,6- diphenylpyridine-4-yl）phenoxy）aniline （DPPA）, followed by palladium-catalyzed hydrazine reduction. This monomer was used to prepare polyimides （PIs） based on reaction with several commerically avaiable tetracarboxylic dianhydrides such as pyromellatic dianhydride （PmdA）, benzophenone tetracarboxylic acide dianhydride （BTDA） and bicycle [2.2.2] oct-7-ene- 2, 3,5,6-tetracarboxylic dianhydride （BCDA）. These PIs had inherent viscosity in the range of 0.34-0.76 dL/g and showed good solubility in various aprotic polar solvents. The glass-transition tempratures （Tgs） of the PIs were in the range of 184-302℃, and showed high thermal stability with 10% weight loss in the temperature range of 360-500℃ under nitrogen atmosphere.

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF POLYAMIDES DERIVED FROM(4-(4-(2,6-DIPHENYLPYRIDIN-4YL)PHENOXY)PHENYL)-3,5-DIAMINOBEZAMIDE

New types of polyamides containing pendent triaryl pyridine groups were successfully synthesized by direct polycondensation of a symmetry diamine,（4-（4-（2,6-diphenylpyridin-4yl）phenoxy）phenyl）-3,5-diaminobezamide（DPDAB）, and various aromatic and aliphatic dicarboxylic diacids in NMP using triphenyl phosphate（TPP） and pyridine as catalyst. The diamine and all the prepared polyamides were fully characterized by using FT-IR,~1H-NMR,UV-Vis spectroscopy, fluorimetry and elemental *** inherent viscosity of polyamides ranged from 0.45 dL/g to 0.68 dL/*** the polymers exhibited solubility in common polar aprotic solvents such as NMP,DMAc,DMF,DMSO,pyridine,HMPA,and even in less polar solvents such as THF and m-cresol at room *** properties of polyamides were evaluated by means of DSC,DMTA and *** polymers showed glass transition temperatures（T_g） in the range of 138-210℃. Their initial decomposition temperature（T_i） varied from 265℃to 310℃under N_*** dilute solution（0.2 g/dL） of polyamides in DMF exhibited fluorescence emission withλ_（max） in the range of 470-550 nm.
