The effectiveness of the logic mining approach is strongly correlated to the quality of the induced logical representation that represent the behaviour of the ***,the optimum induced logical representation indicates the capability of the logic mining approach in generalizing the real datasets of different variants and *** main issues with the logic extracted by the standard logic mining techniques are lack of interpretability and the weakness in terms of the structural and arrangement of the 2 Satisfiability logic causing lower *** address the issues,the logical permutation serves as an alternative mechanism that can enhance the probability of the 2 Satisfiability logical rule becoming true by utilizing the definitive finite arrangement of *** work aims to examine and analyze the significant effect of logical permutation on the performance of data extraction ability of the logic mining approach incorporated with the recurrent discrete Hopfield Neural *** on the theory,the effect of permutation and associate memories in recurrent Hopfield Neural Network will potentially improve the accuracy of the existing logic mining *** validate the impact of the logical permutation on the retrieval phase of the logic mining model,the proposed work is experimentally tested on a different class of the benchmark real datasets ranging from the multivariate and timeseries *** experimental results show the significant improvement in the proposed logical permutation-based logic mining according to the domains such as compatibility,accuracy,and competitiveness as opposed to the plethora of standard 2 Satisfiability Reverse Analysis methods.

Preparation and Properties of Poly(vinyl alcohol)/Chitosan Blend Bio-nanocomposites Reinforced by Cellulose Nanocrystals

The aim of this paper is to report the effect of the addition of cellulose nanocrystals（CNCs） on the mechanical, thermal and barrier properties of poly（vinyl alcohol）/chitosan（PVA/Cs） bio-nanocomposites films prepared through the solvent casting process. The characterizations of PVA/Cs/CNCs films were carried out in terms of X-ray diffraction（XRD）, transmission electron microscopy（TEM）, scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, thermogravimetric analysis（TGA and DTG）, oxygen transmission rate（OTR）, and tensile tests. TEM and SEM results showed that at low loading levels, CNCs were dispersed homogenously in the PVA/Cs matrix. The tensile strength and modulus in films increased from 55.1 MPa to 98.4 MPa and from 395 MPa to 690 MPa respectively, when CNCs content went from 0 wt% to 1.0 wt%. The thermal stability and oxygen barrier properties of PVA/Cs matrix were best enhanced at 1.0 wt% of CNCs loading. The enhanced properties attained by incorporating CNCs can be beneficial in various applications.

Latent tuberculosis infection among medical students in Malaysia

Objective: This study aimed to determine prevalence of latent tuberculosis infection among medical students and tuberculosis exposure at the health facilities. Methods: A cross-section of study year 1(n=68) and year 5(n=75) medical students in a local university were recruited for latent tuberculosis infection testing using QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus and a questionnaire analyzed for multivariate risk. Results: The majority of the study were vaccinated with BCG. None of year 1 medical students were positive for latent tuberculosis infection, however, six(8.0%) year 5 students were tested positive for latent tuberculosis infection. A higher incidence of year 5 medical students claimed to be exposed to tuberculosis at health facility(65.3% vs. 4.4%) and a higher percentage reported contact with tuberculosis case over the preceding year compared to year 1 students(30.7% vs. 8.8%). Conclusion: We observed a higher incidence of latent tuberculosis infection and higher exposure to tuberculosis in health facilities among year 5 medical students. Baseline screening and monitoring for progression to tuberculosis infection may benefit tuberculosis management programs.

Background:Habitat degradation is known to have a major impact on the composition of bird communities,yet how these communities recover following such disturbance is less *** study examined bird community changes from pre-logging to recovery over the course of habitat disturbance caused by the development of the Hulu Terengganu Hydroelectric Dam Project in Peninsular Malaysia,between 2007 and *** surveys were conducted using point count observations and mist netting in the dam area from the prelogging phase until the operation ***:It was observed that while bird species significantly declined after large-scale habitat clearance between the pre-logging and construction phases,they showed positive signs of recovery from the inundation to operation *** findings indicate that the bird community is still recovering,and the permanent loss of habitat required by most of the original species has not occurred,as evidenced by *** species composition differed across phases due to varying habitat *** turnover rate and immigration rate(recolonisation and newly recorded species)were higher between the construction and operation *** was also observed that insectivorous birds were more heavily affected than others by changes to the landscape,which highlights the versatility,survivability and tolerance of certain species to extreme disturbance and habitat ***:Although the operation phase showed an incremental change in bird species richness due to recolonisation and newly recorded species,this value remains far from that of the pre-logging *** predict that bird species recovery will continue to increase for some time before reaching a plateau among the newly created islands,reservoir and catchment area of the dam.

Microbial synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles and their potential application as an antimicrobial agent and a feed supplement in animal industry: a review

In recent years, zinc oxide nanoparticles(ZnO NPs) have gained tremendous attention attributed to their unique properties. Notably, evidence has shown that zinc is an important nutrient in living organisms. As such, both prokaryotes and eukaryotes including bacteria, fungi and yeast are exploited for the synthesis of ZnO NPs by using microbial cells or enzyme, protein and other biomolecules compounds in either an intracellular or extracellular route. ZnO NPs exhibit antimicrobial properties, however, the properties of nanoparticles(NPs) are depended upon on their size and shape, which make them specific for various applications. Nevertheless, the desired size and shape of NPs can be obtained through the optimization process of microbes mediated synthesis by manipulating their reaction conditions. It should be noted that ZnO NPs are synthesized by various chemical and physical ***, these methods are expensive and not environmentally friendly. On that account, the microbes mediated synthesis of ZnO NPs have rapidly evolved recently where the microbes are cleaner, eco-friendly, nontoxic and biocompatible as the alternatives to chemical and physical practices. Moreover, zinc in the form of NPs is more effective than their bulk counterparts and thus, they have been explored for many potential applications including in animals industry. Notably, with the advent of multi-drug resistant strains, ZnO NPs have emerged as the potential antimicrobial agents. This is mainly due to their superior properties in combating a broad spectrum of pathogens. Moreover, zinc is known as an essential trace element for most of the biological function in the animal’s body. As such, the applications of ZnO NPs have been reported to significantly enhance the health and production of the farm animals. Apex Frame Spotting Using Attention Networks for Micro-Expression Recognition System

Micro-expression is manifested through subtle and brief facial movements that relay the genuine person’s hidden *** a sequence of videos,there is a frame that captures the maximum facial differences,which is called the apex ***,apex frame spotting is a crucial sub-module in a micro-expression recognition ***,this spotting task is very challenging due to the characteristics of micro-expression that occurs in a short duration with low-intensity muscle ***,most of the existing automated works face difficulties in differentiating micro-expressions from other facial ***,this paper presents a deep learning model with an attention mechanism to spot the micro-expression apex frame from optical flow *** attention mechanism is embedded into the model so that more weights can be allocated to the regions that manifest the facial movements with higher *** method proposed in this paper has been tested and verified on two spontaneous micro-expression databases,namely Spontaneous Micro-facial Movement(SAMM)and Chinese Academy of Sciences Micro-expression(CASME)II *** proposed system performance is evaluated by using the Mean Absolute Error(MAE)metric that measures the distance between the predicted apex frame and the ground truth *** best MAE of 14.90 was obtained when a combination of five convolutional layers,local response normalization,and attention mechanism is used to model the apex frame *** with limited datasets,the results have proven that the attention mechanism has better emphasized the regions where the facial movements likely to occur and hence,improves the spotting performance.
