Objective:To evaluate the ann-nociceptive activity of Tecomaria capensls(***) leaves extract(TCLE) using different models in rats by acetic acid induced writhing test,(b) tail-flick test(c) tail-clip ***:TCLE(100,300,1000 and 2000 mg/kg body wt.) was given to rats orally to observe acute toxicity for 14 *** test drug TCLE were given at dose of 100,200 and 500 mg/kg *** standard drug aspirin were given at a dose of 100 mg/kg ***:No mortality was reported even after 14 *** indicates that the methanol extract is safe up to a single dose of 2 000 mg/kg body weight TCLE(100,200 and 500 mg/kg p.o.) significandy inhibited abdominal constrictions(writhing) induced by acetic acid and increased the latency period in the tail flick and tail clip *** at the dose of 500 mg/kg showed significant anti-nociceptive activity compared to standard ***:The results of this study show that methanol extract of *** possesses anti-nociceptive activity which may be mediated by the central and peripheral mechanisms.

Objective:To evaluate the antihyperglycemic activity of Tecomaria aipensis(***) Thunb. (Bignoniaceae) methanolic leaves extract(TCLE) using blood glucose level in normal fasted rats, glucose tolerance test and alloxan induced hyperglycemia ***:TCLE(100,300, 1 000 and 2 000 mg/kg body wt.) was given to rats orally to observe acute toxicity,and observed for 14 *** 200 and 400 mg/kg,and glibenclamide 0.6 mg/kg were given orally in all models. Results:Results demonstrated that the no mortality was reported even after 14 *** indicates that the methanol extract is safe up to a single dose of 2 000 mg/kg body ***(200 and 400 mg/kg p.o.) exhibited remarkable blood glucose lowering effect in blood glucose level in normal fasted rats,glucose tolerance and alloxan induced hyperglycemia *** and triglyceride also decreased in alloxan induced hyperglycemia ***:The results of this study exhibites that methanol extract of *** possesses antihypergycemic activity and it may prove to be effective for the treatment of hyperglycemia.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the potential wound healing activity of Tecomaria capensis leaves extract (TCLE) using different models in rats. (a) Excision wound model, (b) Incision wound model and (c) Dead space wound model. TCLE (100, 300, 1 000 and 2 000 mg·kg-1) was given to rats to observe acute toxicity. No toxicity was found in animals till 14 days. TCLE 5% and 10% ointment were applied topically in excision wound model and incision wound model. TCLE 200 and 400 mg·kg-1 were given orally in dead space wound model. It improved healing in excision wound model, increased breaking strength of tissue in incision wound model, and increased granuloma breaking strength and hydroxyproline content in dead space wound model. These results showed that TCLE presents significant wound healing activity.

The present work reportes the pertinence of samarium(Sm) doped spinel nanoferrites as magnetically recoverable photocatalyst for the removal of organic pollutants from ***,a series of Sm substituted spinel nano ferrites,mSm_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4)(m=Ni,Co;x=0,0.02,0.06,0.1) we re synthesized via sol-gel *** effect of Sm doping on the structural,morphological,optical and magnetic properties of pristine nanoferrites was investigated ***,the fabricated samples were explored as photocatalysts for the oxidative degradation of antibiotics(ofloxacin and norfloxacin) and dyes(methyl orange and safranin O).The Sm doped nanoferrites exhibit astonishing catalytic efficacy that can be attributed to higher surface area,octahedral site preference of Sm ions and reduced band *** synthesized nanoferrites display excellent recyclability which enables them to be utilized as potential photocatalysts for wastewater treatment.

Objective:To judge for reasons of interrupting the treatment as told by patient himself/herself and see for adherence to therapy and treatment outcome after ***:All patients with history of interrupting the treatment presenting to chest OPD were included in this *** was done by medical officer on first interaction and by health care worker(as guidance of medical officer) *** for interrupting the treatment were *** and their relatives were counselled about the urgent need for strict adherence to therapy with special focus on reasons for which that particular patient had ***:Total 56 patients were included in the study during First Quarter of year *** outcomes of 40 patients were available.6 out of them had interrupted the treatment(15%)(National figures;19%and maharashtra: 21%),13 patients died during the treatment(5 of them were Cat 2 defaulters).multiple reasons for interrupting the treatment were *** common reasons were alcoholism and feeling of relief with treatment (46.4%).Conclusion:There is an urgent need for stressing upon counselling during Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme(RNTCP) sensitization and *** officers can play an important role in reducing the defaulter rate by counselling of patient and their relatives.

Spectral characteristics of banded iron formations in Singhbhum craton,eastern India:Implications for hematite deposits on mars

Banded iron formations （BIFs） are major rock units having hematite layers intermittent with silica rich layers and formed by sedimentary processes during late Archean to mid Proterozoic time. In terrestrial environment, hematite deposits are mainly found associated with banded iron formations. The BIFs in Lake Superior （Canada） and Carajas （Brazil） have been studied by planetary scientists to trace the evolution of hematite deposits on mars. Hematite deposits are extensively identified in meridiani region on mars. many hypotheses have been proposed to decipher the mechanism for the formation of these deposits. On the basis of geomorphological and mineralogical studies, aqueous environment of deposition is found to be the most supportive mechanism for its secondary iron rich deposits. In the present study, we examined the spectral characteristics of banded iron formations of Joda and Daitari located in Singhbhum craton in eastern India to check its potentiality as an analog to the aqueous/marine environment on mars. The prominent banding feature of banded iron formations is in the range of few millimeters to few centimeters in thickness. Fe rich bands are darker （gray） in color compared to the light reddish jaspilitic chert bands. Thin quartz veins （〈4 mm） are occasionally observed in the handspecimens of banded iron formations. Spectral investigations have been conducted in VIS/NIR region of electromagnetic spectrum in the laboratory conditions. Optimum absorption bands identified include 0.65, 0.86, 1.4 and 1.9 μm, in which 0.56 and 0.86 μm absorption bands are due to ferric iron and 1.4 and 1,9 μm bands are due to OH/H2O. To validate the mineralogical results obtained from VlS/NIR spectral radiometry, laser Raman and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic techniques were utilized and the results were found to be similar. Local scour at monopile foundations of offshore wind turbines is one of the most critical structural stability *** article reviews the contemporary methods of scour countermeasures at monopile *** methods include armouring countermeasures(e.g.,riprap protection)to enhance the anti-scour ability of the bed materials and flow-altering countermeasures(e.g.,collars and sacrificial piles)to reduce downflow or change flow patterns around the *** number and size-selection equations for riprap armour layers are summarised and ***,other alternative methods to riprap are briefly introduced and presented.A typical graph of the scour depth reduction with different collar sizes and elevations under specific test conditions is summarised and compared with a plot for a pile founded on a *** rates for different flow-altering countermeasures,including the collar,are listed and compared.A newly developed soil improvement method,namely microbially induced calcite precipitation(mICP),is also reviewed and introduced as a scour protection *** a popular bio-soil treatment method,mICP has a good potential as a scour countermeasure ***-soil treatment methods and traditional armouring methods are defined as active and passive soil enhancement scour countermeasures,respectively.

Non-enzymatic electrochemical sensor was developed for estimation of low-level ***/tungsten carbide(PIN/WC)nanocomposite was synthesized and used as an electroactive material to develop low-cost modified stainless steel plate electrode(SSPE).Surface morphology of developed electrode was characterized by scanning electron *** behavior of cholesterol was investigated through electron impedance spectroscopy,potentiodynamic polarization and cyclic voltammetry in 1-m KOH electrolytic *** quantification of cholesterol was studied by square wave voltammetry and differential pulse *** calibration plots between the cholesterol concentration and peak current were in linear relation with limit of detection of 1.23×10^(−6) mol L^(−1).The overall result reveals that developed PIN/WC/SSPE electrode has excellent performance for trace-level cholesterol estimation and can be further employed for cholesterol monitoring in blood serum samples.
