A Weakly-Supervised Crowd Density Estimation Method Based on Two-Stage Linear Feature Calibration

In a crowd density estimation dataset,the annotation of crowd locations is an extremely laborious task,and they are not taken into the evaluation *** this paper,we aim to reduce the annotation cost of crowd datasets,and propose a crowd density estimation method based on weakly-supervised learning,in the absence of crowd position supervision information,which directly reduces the number of crowds by using the number of pedestrians in the image as the supervised *** this purpose,we design a new training method,which exploits the correlation between global and local image features by incremental learning to train the ***,we design a parent-child network(PC-Net)focusing on the global and local image respectively,and propose a linear feature calibration structure to train the PC-Net simultaneously,and the child network learns feature transfer factors and feature bias weights,and uses the transfer factors and bias weights to linearly feature calibrate the features extracted from the Parent network,to improve the convergence of the network by using local features hidden in the crowd *** addition,we use the pyramid vision transformer as the backbone of the PC-Net to extract crowd features at different levels,and design a global-local feature loss function(L2).We combine it with a crowd counting loss(LC)to enhance the sensitivity of the network to crowd features during the training process,which effectively improves the accuracy of crowd density *** experimental results show that the PC-Net significantly reduces the gap between fullysupervised and weakly-supervised crowd density estimation,and outperforms the comparison methods on five datasets of Shanghai Tech Part A,ShanghaiTech Part B,UCF_CC_50,UCF_QNRF and Jhu-CROWD++.

The Annual Report on Cardiovascular Health and Diseases in China(2022) intricate landscape of cardiovascular health in China. This section dissects cardiovascular risk factors in China which including hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, metabolic syndrome and air pollution. Hypertension prevalence has steadily increased in China,with efforts to control it facing challenges in achieving optimal rates, especially in rural areas. Interventions like salt substitutes and intensive blood pressure control show promise but need improvement. Abnormal lipid levels, indicative of dyslipidemia,have risen significantly, posing a risk for cardiovascular diseases. Despite efforts, many patients struggle to achieve target lipid levels, necessitating improved treatment strategies. Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus affect millions of adults in China,with long-term complications adding to the disease burden. Early intervention and effective management are crucial to mitigate its impact. Prevalent among older adults, chronic kidney disease is associated with diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases, necessitating comprehensive management approaches. The prevalence of metabolic syndrome, characterized by a cluster of risk factors, has increased in both adults and adolescents, calling for lifestyle modifications and public health interventions. Ambient and household air pollution remain significant environmental risk factors, despite some improvements in air quality. Continued efforts to reduce emissions are essential for mitigating associated health risks. Addressing these risk factors requires a multifaceted approach, including public health initiatives, policy interventions, and individual-level strategies to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce environmental exposures. To improve the wear performance of CoCrAlYTa coating,part of the carbon nanotubes(CNTs)chemically reacted with Ta to form reinforcement phase(TaC),while the other CNTs were retained as lubrication ***,the CoCrAlYTa-xCNTs(x=0,1,2,and 4;wt%)composite coatings were prepared by laserinduction hybrid cladding(LIHC),and the microstructure and wear resistance of coatings were systematically *** show that the coatings are mainly composed of TaC,y-(Co,Cr)andβ-(Co,Cr)*** the CNTs content increases from 0 wt%to 4 wt%,the volume fraction of TaC increases from 13.11 vol%to 16.12 vol%.Meanwhile,the nano-hardness ofγ-(Co,Cr)andβ-(Co,Cr)Al are improved from 7.49 and 9.72 to 9.36 and 11.19 GPa,*** a result,the microhardness of coating increases from HV536.25 to HV 738.16,the wear rate decreases from32.4×10^(-3)to 6.1×10^(-3)mg·m^(-1),and the average friction coefficient decreases from 0.55 to *** good wear performance of the coating is attributed to the formation of TaC and the existence of remained CNTs lubricant film.

III-nitride materials are of great importance in the development of modern optoelectronics,but they have been limited over years by low light utilization rate and high dislocation densities in heteroepitaxial films grown on foreign substrate with limited refractive index contrast and large lattice ***,we demonstrate a paradigm of high-throughput manufacturing bioinspired microstructures on warped substrates by flexible nanoimprint lithography for promoting the light extraction *** design a flexible nanoimprinting mold of copolymer and a two-step etching process that enable high-efficiency fabrication of nanoimprinted compound-eye-like Al2O3 microstructure(NCAM)and nanoimprinted compound-eye-like SiO_(2)microstructure(NCSM)template,achieving a 6.4-fold increase in throughput and 25%savings in economic costs over stepper projection *** to NCAM template,we find that the NCSM template can not only improve the light extraction capability,but also modulate the morphology of AlN nucleation layer and reduce the formation of misoriented GaN grains on the inclined sidewall of microstructures,which suppresses the dislocations generated during coalescence,resulting in 40%reduction in dislocation *** study provides a low-cost,high-quality,and high-throughput solution for manufacturing microstructures on warped surfaces of III-nitride optoelectronic devices.

In winter,rivers in cold regions often experience flood disasters resulted from ice jams or ice *** of the variation of ice jam thickness and water level during an ice jammed period are not only a practical need for ice prevention to avoid disaster and plan water resource,but also essential for the development of any mathematical model for predicting the evolution of ice *** far,some equations based on the energy equation have been proposed to describe the relationship between ice jam thickness and water ***,in the derivation of these equations,the local head loss coefficient at the ice jam head and the riverbed slope factor were ***,those reported equations cannot be used to preciously describe the flow energy equation with ice jams and accurately calculate the ice jam thickness and water *** the present study,a more comprehensive theoretical model for hydraulic calculation of ice jam thickness has been derived by considering important and essential factors including riverbed slope and local head loss coefficient at the ice jam ***,based on the data collected from laboratory experiments of ice jam accumulation,the local head loss coefficient at the ice jam head has been calculated,and the empirical equation for calculating the local head loss coefficient has been established by considering flow Froude number and the ratio of ice discharge to flow *** results of this study not only provide a new reference for calculating ice jam thickness and water level,but also present a theoretical basis for accurate CFD simulation of ice jams.
