The aerodynamic noise of high-speed trains increases significantly under *** have typically focused on the characteristics of aerodynamic loads and the corresponding safety issues,with less attention to flow-induced noise *** the present paper,the near-field unsteady flow behaviour around a pantograph was analysed using a large eddy *** far-field aerodynamic noise from a pantograph was predicted using the Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings acoustic *** results showed that asymmetric characteristics of the flow field could be observed using the turbulent kinetic energy and the instantaneous vortexes in crosswind *** shedding,flow separation and recombination around the pantograph were the key factors for aerodynamic noise *** directivity of the noise radiation was inclined towards the leeward side of the *** aerodynamic noise propagation pattern can be considered as a typical point source on spherical waves when the transverse distance from the pantograph geometrical centre is farther than 8 *** sound pressure level grew approximately as the 6 th power of the pantograph *** peak frequency exhibited a linear relationship with the crosswind *** numerical simulation results and wind tunnel experiments had high consistency in the full frequency domain,namely,the peak frequency distribution range,the main frequency amplitude and the spectral distribution shape.

Ventilation is an important engineering measure to control the airborne infection risk of acute respiratory diseases,e.g.,Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19).Occupancy-aided ventilation methods can effectively improve the airborne infection risk control performance with a sacrifice of decreasing working productivity because of the reduced *** study evaluates the effectiveness of two occupancy-aided ventilation methods,i.e.,the continuously reduced occupancy method and the intermittently reduced occupancy *** continuously reduced occupancy method is determined by the steady equation of the mass conservation law of the indoor contaminant,and the intermittently reduced occupancy method is determined by a genetic algorithm-based optimization.A two-scenarios-based evaluation framework is developed,i.e.,one with targeted airborne infection risk control performance(indicated by the mean rebreathed fraction)and the other with targeted working productivity(indicated by the accumulated occupancy).The results show that the improvement in the airborne infection risk control performance linearly and quadratically increases with the reduction in the working productivity for the continuously reduced occupancy method and the intermittently reduced occupancy method *** a given targeted airborne infection risk control performance,the intermittently reduced occupancy method outperforms the continuously reduced occupancy method by improving the working productivity by up to 92%.At a given targeted working productivity,the intermittently reduced occupancy method outperforms the continuously reduced occupancy method by improving the airborne infection risk control performance by up to 38%.

Psoriasis （Ps） and psoriatic arthritis （PsA） are genetically complex diseases with strong genetic evidence. Recently, susceptibility genes for Ps and PsA have been identified within the late cornified envelop （LCE） gene cluster, especially the cluster 3 （LCE3） genes. It is noteworthy that the deletion of LCE3B and LCE3C （LCE3C_LCE3B-del） is significantly associated with these two diseases. Gene-gene interactions between LCE3 genes and other genes are associated with Ps and PsA. LCE3 genes also have pleiotropic effect on some autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, atopic dermatitis and systemic lupus erythematosus. Further studies need to focus on the potential function of LCE3 genes in the pathogenesis of Ps and PsA in the future.

G328 = A65 = L3314 （V = 13.83, B - V = 1.91） is a field star in the direction of the globular cluster M4. If we take E（B - V） = 0.40, then its （B - V）0 = 1.51, corresponding to a spectral type of K5Ⅲ if it is a giant star; or of dM2 if it is a dwarf. Observations at both the MSSSO and Yunnan Observatory have shown that G328 is a new variable with peak to peak amplitude ≌ 0.05 mag in V. While it is not unusual for so red a star to be a variable, special attention must be paid to its short period of about one day. If the variability is due to pulsation, the spectral type and luminosity as well as effective temperature should be determined in order to compare it with Xiong＇s theory.

In this paper, some V-cycle multigrid algorithms are presented for the coupling system arising from the discretization of the Dirichlet exterior problem by coupling the natural boundary element method and finite element method. The convergence of these multigrid algorithms is obtained even with only one smoothing on all levels. The rate of convergence is found uniformly bounded independent of the number of levels and the mesh sizes of all levels, which indicates that these multigrid algorithms are optimal. Some numerical results are also reported.

We report the discovery of a peculiar X-ray transient,EP240408a,by Einstein Probe （EP） and follow-up studies made with EP,Swift,NICER,GROND,ATCA and other ground-based multiwavelength *** new transient was first detected with Wide-field X-ray Telescope （WXT） on board EP on April 8th,2024,manifested in an intense yet brief X-ray flare lasting for *** flare reached a peak flux of 3.9×10-9erg cm-2s-1in 0.5-4 ke V,～300 times brighter than the underlying X-ray emission detected throughout the *** and more precise follow-up observations by EP/FXT,Swift and NICER confirmed the finding of this new *** X-ray spectrum is non-thermal in 0.5-10 ke V,with a power-law photon index varying *** X-ray light curve shows a plateau lasting for ～4 d,followed by a steep decay till becoming undetectable ～10 d after the initial *** on its temporal property and constraints from previous EP observations,an unusual timescale in the range of 7-23 d is found for EP240408a,which is intermediate between the commonly found fast and long-term *** counterparts have been found in optical and near-infrared,with the earliest observation at 17 h after the initial X-ray detection,suggestive of intrinsically weak emission in these *** demonstrate that the remarkable properties of EP240408a are inconsistent with any of the transient types known so far,by comparison with,in particular,jetted tidal disruption events,gamma-ray bursts,X-ray binaries and fast blue optical *** nature of EP240408a thus remains an *** suggest that EP240408a may represent a new type of transients with intermediate timescales of the order of～10 *** detection and follow-ups of more of such objects are essential for revealing their origin.
