Alzheimer's disease,the primary cause of dementia,is characterized by neuropathologies,such as amyloid plaques,synaptic and neuronal degeneration,and neurofibrillary *** amyloid plaques are the primary characteristic of Alzheimer's disease in the central nervous system and peripheral organs,targeting amyloid-beta clearance in the central nervous system has shown limited clinical efficacy in Alzheimer's disease *** abnormalities are commonly observed in patients with Alzheimer's *** liver is the primary peripheral organ involved in amyloid-beta metabolism,playing a crucial role in the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's ***,impaired cholesterol metabolism in the liver may exacerbate the development of Alzheimer's *** this review,we explore the underlying causes of Alzheimer's disease and elucidate the role of the liver in amyloid-beta clearance and cholesterol ***,we propose that restoring normal cholesterol metabolism in the liver could represent a promising therapeutic strategy for addressing Alzheimer's disease.

To address the limitations of contemporary lithium-ion batteries,particularly their low energy density and safety concerns,all-solid-state lithium batteries equipped with solid-state electrolytes have been identified as an up-and-coming *** the various SEs,organic–inorganic composite solid electrolytes(OICSEs)that combine the advantages of both polymer and inorganic materials demonstrate promising potential for large-scale ***,OICSEs still face many challenges in practical applications,such as low ionic conductivity and poor interfacial stability,which severely limit their *** review provides a comprehensive overview of recent research advancements in ***,the influence of inorganic fillers on the main functional parameters of OICSEs,including ionic conductivity,Li+transfer number,mechanical strength,electrochemical stability,electronic conductivity,and thermal stability are systematically *** lithium-ion conduction mechanism of OICSE is thoroughly analyzed and concluded from the microscopic ***,the classic inorganic filler types,including both inert and active fillers,are categorized with special emphasis on the relationship between inorganic filler structure design and the electrochemical performance of ***,the advanced characterization techniques relevant to OICSEs are summarized,and the challenges and perspectives on the future development of OICSEs are also highlighted for constructing superior ASSLBs.

Limestone calcined clay cement(LC3)is an environment-friendly and sustainable cementitious *** has recently gained considerable attention for the stabilization/solidification(S/S)of soils contaminated by heavy ***,the existing studies on S/S of Zn-contaminated soils using LC3 in terms of hydraulic conductivity and microstructural properties as compared to ordinary Portland cement(OPC)are *** study focuses on the evaluation of the mechanical,leaching,and microstructural characteristics of Zn-contaminated soils treated with different contents(0%,4%,6%,8%,and 10%)of low-carbon *** engineering performance of the treated Zn-contaminated soils is assessed over time using unconfined compressive strength(UCS),hydraulic conductivity(k),toxicity characteristic leaching procedure(TCLP),and synthetic precipitation leaching procedure(SPLP)*** results show that the UCS of Zn-contaminated soils treated with LC3 ranged from 1.47 to 2.49 MPa,which is higher than 1.63%–13.07%for those treated with *** k of Zn-contaminated soils treated with LC3 ranged from 1.16×10^(−8)to 5.18×10^(−8)cm/s as compared to the OPC treated *** the leaching properties,the leached Zn from TCLP and SPLP is 1.58–321.10 mg/L and 0.52–284.65 mg/L as the LC3 contents ranged from 4%to 10%.Further,the corresponding pH modeling results indicate that LC3 promotes a relatively suitable dynamic equilibrium condition to immobilize the higher-level Zn *** addition,microscopic analyses demonstrate that the formations of hydration products,i.e.,Zn(OH)_(2),Zn_(2)SiO_(4),calcium silicate hydrate(C–S–H),calcium silicate aluminate hydrate(C–A–S–H)gel,ettringite,and CaZn(SiO_(4))(H_(2)O),are the primary mechanisms for the immobilization of *** study also provides an empirical formula between the UCS and k to support the application of LC3-solidified Zn-contaminated soils in practical engineering in the field.

N,N-Dimethyl fluorosulfonamide for suppressed aluminum corrosion in lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide-based electrolytes

Effective passivation of aluminum(Al)current collector at high potentials(>4.0 V ***/Li^(+))is of essence for the long-term operation of lithium-based ***,the non-aqueous liquid electrolytes comprising lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide(LiTFSI)and organic carbonates are corrosive toward Al current collector at high potentials(>4.0 V ***/Li^(+)),despite their intriguing features(e.g.,good chemical stability and high ionic conductivity).Herein,we propose the utilization of N,N-dimethyl fluorosulfonamide(DMFSA)as electrolyte solvent for suppressing Al corrosion in the LiTFSI-based *** has been demonstrated that the electrolyte of 1.0 M LiTFSI-DMFSA shows decent ionic conductivities(1.76 mS·cm^(−1)at 25℃)with good fluidities(2.44 cP at 25℃).In particular,the replacement of organic carbonates(e.g.,ethylene carbonate and ethyl methyl carbonate)with DMFSA leads to significant suppressed Al *** and compositional characterizations utilizing scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)reveal that DMFSA favors the formation of insoluble species(i.e.,aluminum fluoride(AlF_(3)))on the surface of Al electrode,which effectively inhibits continuous exposure of fresh Al surface to electrolyte during *** work provides not only a deeper understanding on the Al corrosion in LiTFSI-based electrolyte but also an elegant path to stabilize the Al current collector at high potentials(>4.0 V ***/Li^(+)),which may give an impetus into the development of lithium-based batteries.

Parameter Estimation of Multiple Frequency-Hopping Signals Based on Space-Time-Frequency Analysis by Atomic Norm Soft Thresholding with Missing Observations

In this paper,we address the problem of multiple frequency-hopping(FH)signal parameters estimation in the presence of random missing observations.A space-time matrix with random missing observations is acquired by a uniform linear array(ULA).We exploit the inherent incomplete data processing capability of atomic norm soft thresholding(AST)to analyze the space-time matrix and complete the accurate estimation of the hopping time and frequency of the received FH *** hopping time is obtained by the sudden changes of the spatial information,which is implemented as the boundary to divide the time domain signal so that each segment of the signal is a superposition of time-invariant multiple ***,the frequency of multiple signal components can be estimated precisely by AST within each *** obtaining the above two parameters of the hopping time and the frequency of signals,the direction of arrival(DOA)can be directly calculated by them,and the network sorting can be *** of simulation show that the proposed method is superior to the existing *** when a large portion of data observations is missing,as the number of array elements increases,the proposed method still achieves acceptable accuracy of multi-FH signal parameters estimation.

Metal–Phenolic Network-Facilitated“Foe-to-Friend”Conversion of Melittin for Cancer Immunotherapy with Boosted Abscopal Effect

As a naturally occurring cytolytic peptide,melittin(Mel)has strong cytolytic activity and is a potent therapeutic peptide for cancer ***,the serious hemolytic activity of Mel largely impedes its clinical *** this work,based on the strong interactions between proteins/peptides and polyphenols,we develop a tannic acid–Fe^(3+)metal–phenolic network(MPN)-based strategy that can convert Mel from foe to friend via shielding its positive charges and reducing its hemolytic ***,an immune adjuvant resiquimod(R848)is also introduced for immunostimulation,affording the final Mel-and R848-coloaded *** Mel-caused membrane disruption can induce immunogenic cell death for immunostimulation,R848 can act as an immune adjuvant to further facilitate the immunostimulatory effect,and the tannic acid–Fe^(3+)MPN-mediated Fenton reaction can produce reactive oxygen species for cancer *** experiments reveal that the nanodrug can effectively cause immunogenic cell death of tumor cells and arouse robust intratumoral and systemic antitumor *** the bilateral tumor-bearing mouse models,the nanodrug considerably destroys the primary tumor and also boosts the abscopal effect to ablate the distant ***,the MPN-facilitated“foe-to-friend”strategy may promote the practical applications of Mel and foster the development of cancer immunotherapeutics.

Apollo: Rapidly Picking the Optimal Cloud Configurations for Big Data Analytics Using a Data-Driven Approach

Big data analytics applications are increasingly deployed on cloud computing infrastructures,and it is still a big challenge to pick the optimal cloud configurations in a cost-effective *** this paper,we address this problem with a high accuracy and a low *** propose Apollo,a data-driven approach that can rapidly pick the optimal cloud configurations by reusing data from similar *** first classify 12 typical workloads in BigDataBench by characterizing pairwise correlations in our offline *** a new workload comes,we run it with several small datasets to rank its key characteristics and get its similar *** on the rank,we then limit the search space of cloud configurations through a classification *** last,we leverage a hierarchical regression model to measure which cluster is more suitable and use a local search strategy to pick the optimal cloud configurations in a few extra *** evaluation on 12 typical workloads in HiBench shows that compared with state-of-the-art approaches,Apollo can improve up to 30%search accuracy,while reducing as much as 50%overhead for picking the optimal cloud configurations.
