Using geospatial social media data for infectious disease studies: a systematic review

Geospatial social media(GSM)data has been increasingly used in public health due to its rich,timely,and accessible spatial information,particularly in infectious disease *** review synthesized 86 research articles that use GSM data in infectious diseases published between December 2013 and March *** articles cover 12 infectious disease types ranging from respiratory infectious diseases to sexually transmitted diseases with spatial levels varying from the neighborhood,county,state,and *** categorized these studies into three major infectious disease research domains:surveillance,explanation,and *** the assistance of advanced computing,statistical and spatial methods,GSM data has been widely and deeply applied to these domains,particularly in surveillance and explanation *** further identified four knowledge gaps in terms of contextual information use,application scopes,spatiotemporal dimension,and data limitations and proposed innovation opportunities for future *** will contribute to a better understanding of using GSM data in infectious diseases studies and provide insights into strategies for using GSM data more effectively in future research.

The assembly of biomacromole particles with artificial solid matrixes to fabricate hybrid composites has been demonstrated as an efficient strategy to promote both components'*** matrixes as well as appropriate assembly method is essential for optimal performances of the obtained natural-artificial ***,we fabricated the Cyt c@COF-42-B microcapsule through a sacrificial templating method and researched their adjustable biocatalysis by precisely adjusting the microenvironments of these assembled enzyme@COF *** a result,the hydrophobicity and mass transfer of the COF microcapsule can be controlled by modifying the different amounts of PEG moieties,thus improving the composite's *** found that compared with pristine Cyt c@COF-42-B without PEG,the Cyt c@COF-42-B-PEG exhibited a~2.2 times higher *** study provides a significant step toward designing customizable functional natural-artificial composites for enhanced biomacromolecule's activity.

Extraction of copper,zinc and cadmium from copper–cadmium-bearing slag by oxidative acid leaching process

An intensified oxidative acid leaching of copper–cadmium-bearing slag featuring using high-efficient oxygen carrier, such as activated carbon, was investigated to achieve high leaching rate of valuable metals. The effects of leaching variables, including agitation rate, sulfuric acid concentration, temperature, slag particle size, activated carbon and cupric ion concentration, were examined. It is found that leaching rates of cadmium and zinc both exceed 99 % in a very short time, but for copper, leaching rate of 99 % is achieved under the optimized leaching parameters, which are agitation rate of 100 r·min^(-1), sulfuric acid concentration of 15 wt%, leaching temperature of 80 ℃, slag particle size of 48–75 lm, activated carbon concentration of 3 g·L^(-1),liquid-to-solid ratio of 4:1, oxygen flow rate of 0.16 L·min^(-1),and leaching time of 60 min. The macro-leaching kinetics of copper metal was analyzed, and it is concluded that the inner diffusion is the controlling step, with apparent activation energy of 18.6 kJ·mol^(-1). The leaching solution with pH value of 2–4 can be designed to selectively extract valuable metals without neutralization, and the leaching residue can be treated by prevailing Pb smelting process.

Evaluation of TAZ expression and its effect on tumor invasion and metastasis in human glioma

Objective:To evaluate the expression TAZ and its role in tumor invasion and metastetsis in human ***:The expression of TAZ protein was measured in 48 samples of surgically resected human glioma and 13 samples of normal brain tissues using *** was knocked down by a retrovirus-mediated TAZ shRNA in a glioma cell *** cell migration and invasion assays were used to determine migration and invasion of SNB19 ***:The positive expression tale of TAZ protein in glioma tissnes was significantly higher than than in normal brain tissues(79.2%vs.15.4%.P<0.001).*** analysis suggested thai the positive expression rate of TAZ protein in poorly differentiated tumor tissues was significantly higher as compared with that in well differentiated tissues(96.0%vs.60.9%,P<0.01).TAZ was significantly knocked down by TAZ shRNA(P<0.001),and TAZ knockdown significantly reduced cell migration and invasion(P<***)in ***:TAZ protein overexpression is observed in human glioma and its elevated expression is significantly correlated with poor *** knockdown prominently reduces cell migration and invasion in SNB19 cells,suggesling that TAZ may play a key role in the initiation and progression of human glioma.

Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy(ARPES)is one of the most powerful experimental techniques in condensed matter *** ARPES,which uses photons with high flux and continuously tunable energy,has become particularly ***,an excellent synchrotron ARPES system must have features such as a small beam spot,super-high energy resolution,and a user-friendly operation interface.A synchrotron beamline and an endstation(BL03 U)were designed and constructed at the shanghai Synchrotron Radiation *** beam spot size at the sample position is 7.5(V)μm×67(H)μm,and the fundamental photon range is 7-165 eV;the ARPES system enables photoemission with an energy resolution of 2.67 meV at21.2 *** addition,the ARPES system of this endstation is equipped with a six-axis cryogenic sample manipulator(the lowest temperature is 7 K)and is integrated with an oxide molecular beam epitaxy system and a scanning tunneling microscope,which can provide an advanced platform for in situ characterization of the fine electronic structure of condensed matter.

Anisotropy of 2H-NbSe_(2)in the superconducting and charge density wave states

Anisotropy is an important feature of layered materials,and a large anisotropy is usually related to the two-dimensional charac *** investigated the anisotropy of the layered transition metal dicalcogenide 2H-NbSe_(2)in the superconducting and charge density wave(CDW)states using magnetotransport *** the superconducting state,the normalized H_(c2)^(‖c)/H_(p)is independent of the thickness of 2H-NbSe_(2),while H_(c2)^(‖ab)/H_p increases significantly with decreasing thickness,where H_p is the Pauli limiting magnetic field and H_(c2)^(‖c)anu H_(c2)^(‖ab)are the upper critical fields in the c and ab directions,*** is found that the superconducting anisotropy parameterγH_(c2)=H_(c2)^(‖ab)/H_(c2)^(‖c)increases with reduction in the thickness of 2H-NbSe_(2).In the CDW state,the angular(θ)dependence of magnetoresistance,R(H,θ)scales with H(cos^(2)θ+γ_(CDW)^(-2)sin^(2)θ)^(1/2),which decreases with increasing temperature and disappears at about 40 *** is found that the CDW anisotropy parameterγ_(CDW)is much larger than the effective mass anisotropy but does not change a lot for ultrathin and bulk *** results suggest the existence of three-dimensional superconductivity and quasi-two dimensional CDWs in bulk 2H-NbSe_(2).

Universal Software Architecture of Magnetic Resonance-Guided Focused Ultrasound Surgery System and Experimental Study

Magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound surgery (MRgFUS) is an emerging, non-invasive hyperthermia technology which can be used for the treatment of benign and malignant tumours, in conjunction with intracranial neurological diseases. To treat different indications, it is often necessary to design special focused ultrasound devices and treatment plans, which poses great challenges and results in substantial costs during software development. This article introduces a general software architecture that can be applied to three different focused ultrasound devices for the treatment of uterine fibroids, breast fibroids, and pain palliation of bone metastases, respectively, and can be integrated with GE Discovery or Signa MRI scanners and Xingaoyi BroadScan MRI scanners. Finally, the proposed software architecture was shown to possess desirable universality and safety through various tests and animal experimental studies.

Performance of the merged APPLE-Knot undulator for soft x-ray beamline in medium energy ring

APPLE-Knot undulator can effectively solve the on-axis heat load problem and is proven to perform well in VUV beamline and soft x-ray beamline in high energy storage ring. However, for soft x-ray beamline in a medium energy ring,whether the APPLE-Knot undulator excels the APPLE undulator is still a question. Here, a merged APPLE-Knot undulator is studied to generate soft x-ray in a medium energy ring. Its advantages and problems are discussed. Though the on-axis heat load of the APPLE-Knot undulator is lower in linear polarization modes compared to the APPLE undulator, its flux is lower. The APPLE-Knot undulator shows no advantage when only fundamental harmonic is needed. However, in circular polarization mode, the APPLE-Knot undulator shows the ability to cover a broader energy range which can remedy the notable shortcoming of the APPLE undulator.
