Effects of stand types on recreational preferences of society in the Sub-Alpine Zone,northern Turkey

The main objective of this study was to examine how different stand types influenced the tendency of visitors for varying recreational activities(i.e.,hiking,trekking,camping and hunting)from 1993 to 2018 in the surrounding areas of Uluyayla Natural Recreation Site in Bart1n,northern Turkey.A total of 627 visitors were selected on a voluntary basis,and questioned in the form of *** of the participants were in the age of 21-40 years old,and they were mostly(62.4%)*** of the participants(82.7%)lived in cities,while 62.8%of them were tourists when visiting the *** determining the preferences of the visitors regarding the stand types for different recreational activities,several images of each stand were shared with them,and they were asked which stand type they would prefer for a given recreation activity(i.e.,hiking,tracking,camping and hunting).A range of options from 1 to 5 in Likert's scale was used in evaluating the given *** degree of positive and negative effects was examined via trend *** was found that stand type had influence on the preferences of visitors regarding the recreational *** general,unmanaged and moderately treated stands were more preferred by visitors for the recreational purposes,compared to the previously managed *** the other hand,visitors'preference for the activities were different during two periods(i.e.,1993-2005 and 2006-2018).For each recreational activity,there was an increasing trend from 1993 to *** had been a continuous increase for hunting since 1996,and for trekking and camping after *** increases between 1993-1996 and 1996-1999 were likely due to the increasing awareness of the society as a result of the training and consciousness raising activities for nature *** demand on the recreational activities continuously increased in unmanaged and moderately treated stands,while no significant changes were examined in the previously managed *** st

String cloud and domain walls with quark matter for a higher dimensional FRW universe in self creation cosmology

In this study, we research a higher dimensional flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker（FRW） universe in Barber＇s second theory when strange quark matter（SQM） and normal matter（NM） are attached to the string cloud and domain walls. We obtain zero string tension density for this model. We obtain dust quark matter *** result agrees with Kiran and Reddy, Krori et al, Sahoo and Mishra and Reddy. In our solutions the quark matter transforms to other particles over time. We also obtain two different solutions for domain walls with quark and normal matters by using a deceleration parameter. Also, the features of the obtained solutions are discussed and some physical and kinematical quantities are generalized and discussed. Our results are consistent with Y？lmaz,Adcox et al and Back et al in four and five dimensions.

Giant vesical diverticulum:A rare cause of defecation disturbance

Vesical diverticula frequently result from bladder outlet obstructions. However, giant vesical diverticula which cause acute abdomen or intestinal obstruction are very rare. Our review of the English medical literature found 3 cases of bladder diverticula which caused gastrointestinal symptoms. Here, we present a 57-yearold man with a giant diverticulum of the urinary bladder who complained of abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, constipation, no passage of gas or feces, and abdominal distension for 3 d. A 20 cm x 15 cm diverticulum was observed upon laparotomy. The colonic obstruction was secondary to external compression of the rectum against the sacrum by a distended vesical diverticulum. We performed a diverticulectomy and primary closure. Twelve months postoperatively, the patient had no difficulty with voiding or defecation.

Accurate and sensitive determination of hydroxychloroquine sulfate used on COVID-19 patients in human urine,serum and saliva samples by GC-MS

A rapid,accurate,and sensitive analytical method,ultrasonication-assisted spraying based fine droplet formationeliquid phase microextractionegas chromatographyemass spectrometry(UA-SFDF-LPME-GCMS),was proposed for the determination of trace amounts of hydroxychloroquine sulfate in human serum,urine,and saliva *** determine the best extraction strategy,several liquid and solid phase extraction methods were investigated for their efficiencies in isolation and preconcentration of hydroxychloroquine sulfate from biological *** UA-SFDF-LPME method was determined to be the best extraction method as it was operationally simple and provided accurate *** such as the extraction solvent,spraying number,sodium hydroxide concentration and volume,sample volume,mixing method,and mixing period were optimized for the proposed method using the onevariable-at-a-time *** addition,Tukey’s method based on a post hoc comparison test was employed to evaluate the significant difference between the parameters *** the optimization studies,the limit of detection(LOD)and limit of quantification(LOQ)were determined to be 0.7 and 2.4 mg/kg,*** sensitivity of the GC-MS system based on the LOD was enhanced approximately 440-fold when the UA-SFDF-LPME method was *** experiments were also conducted for the human serum,urine,and saliva samples to determine the applicability and accuracy of the proposed *** for the human serum,urine,and saliva samples were found to be in the ranges of 93.9%-101.7%,95.2%-105.0%,and 93.1%-102.3%,*** results were satisfactory and indicated that the hydroxychloroquine sulfate level in the above biological samples could be analyzed using the proposed method.

Prolonged QT dispersion in inflammatory bowel disease

AIM:To investigate the frequency and factors of prolonged QT dispersion that may lead to severe ventricular arrhythmias in patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).METHODS:This study included 63 ulcerative colitis(UC) and 41 Crohn's disease(CD) ***-seven healthy patients were included as the control *** rate was calculated using electrocardiography,corrected QT dispersion(QTcd) and the Bazett's *** model assessment(HOMA) was used to determine insulin resistance(IR).HOMA values 2.5 indicated a high probability of ***:Prolonged QTcd was found in 12.2% of UC patients,and in 14.5% of CD patients compared with the control group(P < 0.05).A significant difference was found between the insulin values(CD:10.95 ± 6.10 vs 6.44 ± 3.28,P < 0.05;UC:10.88 ± 7.19 vs 7.20 ± 4.54,P < 0.05) and HOMA(CD:2.56 ± 1.43 vs 1.42 ± 0.75,P < 0.05;UC:2.94 ± 1.88 vs 1.90 ± 1.09,P < 0.05) in UC and CD patients with and without prolonged *** behavior types were determined in CD patients with prolonged *** systolic arterial pressure(125 ± 13.81 vs 114.09 ± 8.73,P < 0.01) and age(48.67 ± 13.93 vs 39.57 ± 11.58,P < 0.05) in UC patients were significantly associated with prolonged ***:Our data show that IBD patients have prolonged QTcd in relation to *** routine followup of IBD patients should include determination of HOMA,insulin values and electrocardiogram examination.

Ionizing radiation （IR） is a potential carcinogen. Evidence for the carcinogenic effect of IR radiation has been shown after long-term animal investigations and observations on survivors of the atom bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. However, IR has been widely used in a controlled manner in the medical imaging for diagnosis and monitoring of various diseases and also in cancer therapy. The collective radiation dose from medical imagings has increased six times in the last two decades, and grow continuously day to day. A large number of evidence has revealed the increased cancer risk in the people who had frequently exposed to x-rays, especially in childhood. It has also been shown that secondary malignancy may develop within the five years in cancer survivors who have received radiotherapv, because of IR-mediated damage to healthy cells. In this article, we review the current knowledge about the role of medical x-ray exposure in cancer development in humans, and recently recognized epigenetic mechanisms in IR-induced carcinogenesis.

Effects of terlipressin on systolic pulmonary artery pressure of patients with liver cirrhosis: An echocardiographic assessment

AIM:Portopulmonary hypertension is a serious complication of chronic liver *** aim was to search into the effect of terlipressin on systolic pulmonary artery pressure among cirrhotic patients. METHODS:Twelve patients(6 males and 6 females)with liver cirrhosis were recruited in the *** blood gas samples were obtained in sitting position at *** enhanced echocardiography and measurements of systolic pulmonary artery pressure were performed before and after the intravenous injection of 2 mg terlipressin. RESULTS:Of 12 patients studied,the contrast enhanced echocardiography was positive in 5,and the positive findings in contrast enhanced echocardiography were reversed to normal in two after terlipressin *** mean systolic pulmonary artery pressure was 25.5±3.6 mmHg before terlipressin injection,and was 22.5+2.5 mmHg after terlipressin(P=0.003).The systolic pulmonary artery pressure was above 25 mmHg in seven of these 12 patients. After the terlipressin injection,systolic pulmonary artery pressure was<25 mmHg in four of these cases(58.3% vs 25%,P=0.04). CONCLUSION:Terlipressin can decrease the systolic pulmonary artery pressure in patients with liver cirrhosis.
