Exploring the relationship between Hashimoto's thyroiditis and male fertility:A meta-analytic and meta-regression perspective on hormonal and seminal factors

Objective:To explore the relationship between Hashimoto's autoimmune hypothyroidism(HT)and male fertility,focusing on hormonal and seminal ***:A systematic literature search was conducted across databases such as PubMed,Web of Science,EMBASE,Scopus,Cochrane,and Google Scholar,covering studies published from January 2000 to March *** investigating the impact of HT on semen quality parameters and reproductive hormones were *** effect estimates were calculated using standard mean difference(SMD)and 95%confidence intervals(CI).Results:A total of 8 studies with 8965 participants were *** significantly affected semen quality and reproductive hormone ***,there was a notable decrease in progressive morphology(SMD=-0.78;95%CI:-1.40 to-0.17;P=0.01)and sperm motility(SMD=-1.151;95%CI:-1.876 to-0.425;P=0.002).In addition,there were no significant changes in reproductive hormones,although there were elevated levels of luteinizing hormone(SMD=0.437;95%CI:0.000 to 0.874;P=0.050)and follicle-stimulating hormone(SMD=0.293;95%CI:-0.171 to 0.758;P=0.216),with a slight impact on testosterone levels(SMD=-1.143;95%CI:-2.487 to 0.200;P=0.095).Conclusions:This systematic review and meta-analysis provides robust evidence of the detrimental effects of HT on semen quality and reproductive hormones,underscoring the necessity for thorough evaluation and management of thyroid function in male infertility assessments.

Immersion of scaffolds in Simulated Body Fluid(10SBF)is a standardized method for evaluating their bioactivity,simulating in vivo conditions where apatite deposits can be formed on the surface of scaffold,facilitating bone integration and ensuring their suitability for bone implant purposes,ultimately contributing to long-term implant *** effect of apatite deposition on bioactivity and cell behavior of TiO_(2)scaffolds was *** were soaked in 10SBF for different durations to form HAP layer on their *** results proved the development of a hydroxyapatite film resembling the mineral composition of bone Extracellular Matrix(ECM)on the TiO_(2)*** XRD test findings showed the presence of hydroxyapatite layer similar to bone at the depth of 10 nm.A decrease in the specific surface area(18.913 m^(2)g^(−1)),the total pore volume(0.045172 cm^(3)g^(−1)(at p/p0=0.990)),and the mean pore diameter(9.5537 nm),were observed by BET analysis which confirmed the formation of the apatite *** was found that titania scaffolds with HAP coating promoted human osteosarcoma bone cell(MG63)cell attachment and *** seems that immersing the scaffolds in 10SBF to form HAP coating before utilizing them for bone tissue engineering applications might be a good strategy to promote bioactivity,cell attachment,and implant fixation.

Objective:To evaluate the protective effects of probiotic microorganisms on the reproductive and nervous systems of male rats treated with ***:Thirty-two rats were randomly divided into 4 groups and received normal saline through gavage(control),acrylamide 20 mg/kg body weight,acrylamide plus probiotic microorganisms(Lactobacillus acidophilus,Lactobacillus casei,Lactobacillus bulgaricus,Lactobacillus rhamnosus,Bifidobacterium breve,Bifidobacterium infantis,Streptococcus thermophilus and fructooligosaccharides,all mixed in sachets)20 or 200 mg/kg body weight,*** 30 days,the testis,prostate,seminal vesicle and cerebellum were removed,fixed and stained with hematoxylin-eosin(H&E).The Johnsen score was used to classify ***'s principle method was used to evaluate the total volume(in mm3)of the *** number of each intratubular cell type as well as intertubular Leydig cells in whole samples was measured using the physical dissector counting *** analysis and the grids were used to determine the volume of cerebellar layers as well as the Purkinje cell ***:The testis weight decreased significantly in the acrylamide-treated group compared to the other groups(P<0.001).The number of spermatogonia,spermatocytes,spermatids and Leydig cells in the acrylamide-treated group were significantly less compared to the control group(P<0.05),while they were increased significantly in the acrylamide+200 mg/kg probiotic group(P<0.05;P<0.01).The mean Johnsen score in the acrylamide-treated group was lower than in the control group(P<0.001).Acrylamide-induced changes including congestion,vacuolization in the secretory epithelial cells,and epithelial rupture were observed in the prostate and seminal *** volumes of cerebellar layers were decreased in the acrylamide group compared to the control group while recovered in both probiotic treated ***:Probiotic microorganisms alleviate acryl

Intelligent solubility estimation of gaseous hydrocarbons in ionic liquids

The research focuses on evaluating how well new solvents attract light hydrocarbons, such as propane,methane, and ethane, in natural gas sweetening units. It is important to accurately determine the solubility of hydrocarbons in these solvents to effectively manage the sweetening process. To address this challenge, the study proposes using advanced empirical models based on artificial intelligence techniques like Multi-Layer Artificial Neural Network(ML-ANN), Support Vector Machines(SVM), and Least Square Support Vector Machine(LSSVM). The parameters for the SVM and LSSVM models are estimated using optimization methods like Genetic Algorithm(GA), Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO), and Shuffled Complex Evolution(SCE). Data on the solubility of propane, methane, and ethane in various ionic liquids are collected from reliable literature sources to create a comprehensive database. The proposed artificial intelligence models show great accuracy in predicting hydrocarbon solubility in ionic liquids. Among these, the hybrid SVM models perform exceptionally well, with the PSO-SVM hybrid model being particularly efficient computationally. To ensure a comprehensive analysis, different examples of hydrocarbons and their order are included. Additionally, a comparative analysis is conducted to compare the AI models with the thermodynamic COSMO-RS model for solubility analysis. The results demonstrate the superiority of the AI models, as they outperform traditional thermodynamic models across a wide range of data. In conclusion, this study introduces advanced artificial intelligence algorithms such as ML-ANN, SVM, and LSSVM in accurately estimating the solubility of hydrocarbons in ionic liquids. The incorporation of optimization techniques and variations in hydrocarbon examples improves the accuracy, precision, and reliability of these intelligent models. Glaucoma,an irreversible optic neuropathy,primarily affects retinal ganglion cells(RGC)and causes vision loss and *** damage to RGCs in glaucoma occurs by various mechanisms,including elevated intraocular pressure,oxidative stress,inflammation,and other neurodegenerative *** the disease progresses,the loss of RGCs leads to vision ***,protecting RGCs from damage and promoting their survival are important goals in managing *** this regard,resveratrol(RES),a polyphenolic phytoalexin,exerts antioxidant effects and slows down the evolution and progression of *** present review shows that RES plays a protective role in RGCs in cases of ischemic injury and hypoxia as well as in ErbB2 protein expression in the ***,RES plays protective roles in RGCs by promoting cell growth,reducing apoptosis,and decreasing oxidative stress in H_(2)O_(2)-exposed *** was also found to inhibit oxidative stress damage in RGCs and suppress the activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling *** could alleviate retinal function impairment by suppressing the hypoxia-i nducible factor-1 alpha/vascular endothelial growth factor and p38/p53 axes while stimulating the PI3K/Akt ***,RES might exert potential therapeutic effects for managing glaucoma by protecting RGCs from damage and promoting their survival.

The eastern Iranian range,known as the Sistan suture zone in the past,has recently been identified as the Sistan *** Paleogene orogeny is located between the Lut and Afghan *** structural analysis shows that most of the thrusts dip towards the NW so that the Permo-Triassic sediments and Jurassic micro-diorites of the Lut Block overthrusted over the younger *** studies show that the tectonic vergence was from the NW to the SE of the Sechengi area in the NW part of Sistan *** recognized three deformation phases in eastern *** first N-S deformation event(D1)resulted in the formation of tight E-W folds(F1)and associated cleavages(S1).The second E-W deformation event(D2),which occurred in the late Paleogene led to the bending of older structures,including the axial plane of the first-generation folds giving them a new northwest direction(F2).Additionally,the ramp of the first-phase thrusts(striking E-W)was reactivated,acquiring a new NNW orientation and exhibiting SSE tectonic *** third deformation event(D3)resulted in the formation of NNE and WNW conjugate faults in eastern *** consecutive deformation events perpendicular to each other are inconsistent with the models of simple linear orogen presented for eastern Iran(*** of eastern Iran continental crust and subsequence linear collision)and seem more consistent with the buckling orogeny(Orocline).

Application of nondestructive techniques combined with image processing techniques has been increasing in investigating the internal structure of food *** resonance imaging(MRI)is one of these *** aim of this research is to investigate the effect of coating formulation on structural properties of turkey nugget samples(turkey nugget with typical batter,tragacanth-containing batter and tragacanth)by *** revealed that the changes caused by the batter formulation could also be examined using the tomographic *** results also indicated that the brightness of the MRI images of the nugget core and crust decreased during *** core of the nugget with the tragacanth-containing batter was brighter revealing its higher moisture ***,the nugget core was less reduced in this sample compared with the other *** research aimed to present a valuable knowledge about nugget frying pertaining to quality evaluation.

Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)have been extensively considered as one of the most promising types of porous and crystalline organic-inorganic materials,thanks to their large specific surface area,high porosity,tailorable structures and compositions,diverse functionalities,and well-controlled pore/size ***,most developed MOFs are in powder forms,which still have some technical challenges,including abrasion,dustiness,low packing densities,clogging,mass/heat transfer limitation,environmental pollution,and mechanical instability during the packing process,that restrict their applicability in industrial ***,in recent years,attention has focused on techniques to convert MOF powders into macroscopic materials like beads,membranes,monoliths,gel/sponges,and nanofibers to overcome these ***-dimensional(3D)printing technology has achieved much interest because it can produce many high-resolution macroscopic frameworks with complex shapes and geometries from digital ***,this review summarizes the combination of different 3D printing strategies with MOFs and MOF-based materials for fabricating 3D-printed MOF monoliths and their environmental applications,emphasizing water treatment and gas adsorption/separation ***,the various strategies for the fabrication of 3D-printed MOF monoliths,such as direct ink writing,seed-assisted in-situ growth,coordination replication from solid precursors,matrix incorporation,selective laser sintering,and digital light processing,are described with the relevant ***,future directions and challenges of 3D-printed MOF monoliths are also presented to better plan future trajectories in the shaping of MOF materials with improved control over the structure,composition,and textural properties of 3D-printed MOF monoliths.
