The Level-2 probabilistic safety assessment(PSA) of pressurized water reactors studies the possibility of creep rupture for major reactor coolant system components during the course of high pressure severe accident sequences. The present paper covers this technical issue and tries to quantify its associated phenomenological uncertainties for the development of Level-2 PSA. A framework is proposed for the formal quantification of uncertainties in the Level-2 PSA model of a PWR type nuclear power plant using an integrated deterministic and PSA approach. This is demonstrated for estimation of creep rupture failure probability in station blackout severe accident of a 2-loop PWR, which is the representative case for high pressure sequences. MELCOR 1.8.6 code is employed here as the deterministic tool for the assessment of physical phenomena in the course of accident. In addition, a MATLAB code is developed for quantification of the probabilistic part by treating the uncertainties through separation of aleatory and epistemic sources of *** probability for steam generator tube creep rupture is estimated at 0.17.

Miscible injection of carbon dioxide(CO_(2))into oil reservoirs as an Enhanced Oil Recovery(EOR)method has proved to be highly *** to the volume of the world's recoverable oil resides inside the fractured reservoirs, investigation of the controlling parameters in the efficient injection of miscible CO_(2) is of paramount importance, mainly owing to the intricacies and complexities associated with this *** complexity in fractured reservoirs arises due to the presence of two distinct media for fluid transfer(i.e.,matrix and fracture network)and the corresponding differences in fluid ***,performance of miscible carbon dioxide injection in these reservoirs was investigated through mechanistic simulation model in the form of dual-porosity(DP),and dual porosity-dual permeability(DPP).Moreover, due to limited supply and high injection costs of this gas in its pure form, performance of the miscible CO_(2) injection combined with C_(1),N_(2),and H_(2)S was also surveyed and compared to pure gas injection case.A sensitivity analysis was also performed based on fracture porosity, fracture horizontal and vertical permeability, matrix horizontal permeability, block height shape factor, matrix capillary pressure, and impure injected components in DP and DPP models, showing that matrix horizontal permeability and capillary pressure have the greatest, and porosity has the lowest impact on miscibility performance and oil recovery in these *** the end, after investigating the effect of different injection cases on miscibility performance and oil recovery,it was concluded that the highest oil recovery in miscible gas injection obtained through optimization of a gas composition having the lowest minimum miscibility pressure(MMP)and the lowest density.

Iran is located in one of the seismically active regions of the world. Due to the high probability of earthquakes throughout the country and the potential for tsunami inundation along the coasts and offshore, comprehensive studies on theinteraction of these natural phenomena arc necessary, hi this study, the most conservative scenarios are determined for possible earthquakes within the Khark zone (Persian Gulf) *** on experimental relations between tile fault length, magnitude and displacement, which are paralneters for deter- mining tsunamigenic sources. Subsequently, the maximum height of tstmami waves are calculated based on the specitieations of the seismic source and its distance from the shore as well as the coastal slope. A zoning map of tsunami hazard is finally presented.

In this research, some of site and silvicultural characteristics of Yew stand in northern forests of Iran was studied. For this purpose, compartment number 16 of district 4 Shir-ghalaye was selected. According to research purposes, stands with an area of 20 ha were chosen in center of the compartment and was separated from map. Due to restricted area of region and according to few number of Yew trees in the stand, the full-callipering method was conducted for measuring quantitative and qualitative characteristics. In the stand diameter at breast height (D.B.H.), height and canopy diameter of all Yew trees were measured. The results showed that the diameter distribution curve and height distribution curve of Yew trees were similar to even-age forests curve. But according to average annual increment, mixture type of Yew trees in stand, diameter distribution of other species and low rate regeneration of Yew, it can be concluded that the studied Yew stand, is an uneven-age stand and because of low rate regeneration in previous years the number of young Yew trees were reduced and even-age forest curve was formed subsequently. The maximum height and diameter of Yew trees were recorded 26.8 m and 112 cm, respectively. Also, the number of trees per hectare and basal area per hectare of Yew trees were calculated 14.55 and 3.23 m2 respectively.
