Due to its additional frequency response,dual-frequency ultrasound has advantages over conventional ultrasound,which operates at a specific frequency ***,a tunable frequency from a single transducer enables sonographers to achieve ultrasound images with a large detection area and high *** facilitates the availability of more advanced techniques that simultaneously require low-and high-frequency ultrasounds,such as harmonic imaging and image-guided *** this study,we present a novel method for dual-frequency ultrasound generation from a ferroelectric piezoelectric micromachined ultrasound transducer(PMUT).Uniformly designed transducer arrays can be used for both deep low-resolution imaging and shallow high-resolution *** switch the ultrasound frequency,the only requirement is to tune a DC bias to control the polarization state of the ferroelectric *** vibration of the PMUT membrane strongly depends on the polarization state,producing low-and high-frequency ultrasounds from a single excitation *** strategy for dual-frequency ultrasounds meets the requirement for either multielectrode configurations or heterodesigned elements,which are integrated into an ***,this technique significantly reduces the design complexity of transducer arrays and their associated driving circuits.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers,and current treatment options include surgery,chemotherapy,and radiation *** patients undergo surgery,which often requires extensive resection of the colon to prevent recurrence and metastasis of residual malignant tumor cells,leading to postoperative pain and discomfort in daily *** versatile therapeutic patches have been developed to induce tumor apoptosis,achieving both great adhesiveness on the mucus layers of the colon tissue and anti-cell/tissue adhesion to other surrounding organs remains a ***,we report a Janus polysaccharide film comprising two polymers:mussel-inspired catechol-conjugated chitosan(Chi-C)with muco-adhesiveness,and alginate(Alg)with anti-adhesion *** Chi-C and Alg polymers form a stably entangled bilayer film via electrostatic *** Janus film shows a strong tissue adhesive strength of~10 kPa for the Chi-C layer and weak strength of~1 kPa for the Alg ***,the Janus film encapsulating an anti-cancer drug exhibits a directional release profile to the tumor site,which is effective for triggering tumor death in in vivo colorectal tumor resection ***,such anti-cancer material strategies using bilayered structures are promising for advanced tumor therapy.

Introducing Ni in Ru oxide is a promising approach to enhance the catalytic activity for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER).however,the role of Ni(which has a poor intrinsic activity)is not fully ***,a Ru NiO_(x)electrode fabricated via a modified dip coating method exhibited excellent OER performance in acidic media,and neutral media for CO_(2)reduction *** combined in-situ/operando X-ray absorption near-edge structure and on-line inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry studies to unveil the role of the Ni introduced in the Ru *** propose that the Ni not only transforms the electronic structure of the Ru oxide,but also produces a large number of oxygen vacancies by distorting the oxygen lattice structure at low overpotentials,increasing the participation of lattice oxygen for *** work demonstrates the real behavior of bimetallic oxide materials under applied potentials and provides new insights into the development of efficient electrocatalysts.

The demand for titanium alloys simultaneously having high elastic admissible strain and large recovery strain for bio-implant applications is ***-free Ti-based shape memory alloys are promising candidates for obtaining the required multifunctional *** this study,a wide content range of(0-15)wt%of low-cost,toxicity-free,and high-biocompatible Sn element was added to the Ti-8Mo(wt%)alloy to study its effect on the superelastic recovery and mechanical properties of biomedical Ti-Mo-Sn *** tailoring Sn content,desired multifunctional properties of high elastic admissible strain and room temperature superelasticity were achieved in the studied Ti-Mo-Sn *** was found that the increase in Sn content stabilized theβphase and a singleβphase was obtained at room temperature in Ti-8Mo-(13,15)Sn *** addition of Sn modified the lattice parameters of theα″martensite andβphase and affected the lattice deformation stain ofβ→α″.The lattice deformation strain along the[011]βdirection was found to be decreased by-0.26%/wt%*** room temperature superelasticity with a recovery strain of 3.1%and an elastic admissible strain of 1%was obtained in the Ti-8Mo-13Sn *** Sn content increased to 15 wt%,a high elastic admissible strain of 1.56%and a recovery strain of 2.0%were *** Ti-Mo-Sn alloys with excellent multifunctional properties are promising candidates for bio-implant applications.

Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS)-associated achalasia is a very rare disease of uncertain cause. We report the case of a patient diagnosed with GBS-associated type I achalasia who was successfully treated with peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM). A 30-year-old man who was diagnosed with GBS 3 mo before was referred to our department with dysphagia and meal-related regurgitation. The results of esophagography, endoscopy, and high-resolution manometry (HRM) revealed type I achalasia. POEM that utilized a submucosal tunneling technique was performed to treat the GBS-associated type I achalasia. After POEM, smooth passage of a contrast agent into the stomach was shown in follow-up esophagography, and follow-up HRM revealed a decrease in the mean integrated relaxation pressure 22.9 mmHg to 9.6 mmHg. The patient remained without dysphagia for 7 mo, even though the patient’s neurological problems were not fully resolved. POEM may be a safe and effective treatment for GBS-associated type I achalasia.

AIM： To identify a cost-effective strategy of second primary colorectal cancer （CRC） screening for cancer survivors in Korea using a decision-analytic model. METhoDS： A Markov model estimated the clinical and economic consequences of a simulated 50-year- old male cancer survivors＇ cohort, and we compared the results of eight screening strategies： no screening, fecal occult blood test （FOBT） annually, FOBT every 2 years, sigmoidoscopy every 5 years, double contrast barium enema every 5 years, and colonoscopy every 10 years （COL10）, every 5 years （COL5）, and every 3 years （COL3）. We included only direct medical costs, and our main outcome measures were discounted lifetime costs, life expectancy, and incremental cost- effectiveness ratio （ICER）. RESULTS： In the base-case analysis, the non-dominat- ed strategies in cancer survivors were COL5, and COL3. The ICER for COL3 in cancer survivors was $5593/life- year saved （LYS）, and did not exceed $10000/LYS in one-way sensitivity analyses. If the risk of CRC in can- cer survivors is at least two times higher than that in the general population, COL5 had an ICER of less than $10500/LYS among both good and poor prognosis of index cancer. If the age of cancer survivors starting CRC screening was decreased to 40 years, the ICER of COL5 was tess than $7400/LYS regardless of screening compliance. CONCLUSION： Our study suggests that more strict and frequent recommendations for colonoscopy such as COL5 and COL3 could be considered as economically reasonable second primary CRC screening strategies for Korean male cancer survivors.

BACKGROUND Optimal treatment for iliopsoas tendinitis after total hip arthroplasty(THA)with cup malposition,iliopsoas release alone or with cup revision,is controversial,particularly in young,active ***,arthroscopic iliopsoas tendon(IPT)release in these patients has been rarely described,and midterm effects of this procedure on THA longevity and groin pain recurrence remain *** performed arthroscopic IPT release after THA and report midterm outcomes in two young patients with acetabular cup *** SUMMARY In the two patients,groin pain started early after *** examination revealed nonspecific findings,and laboratory tests showed no evidence of *** and computed tomography showed reduced acetabular component anteversion angle and anterior cup prominence of more than 16 *** therapeutic diagnosis,ultrasonography-guided lidocaine with steroid was injected into the IPT *** both patients,groin pain improved initially but worsened after a few ***,the patients underwent arthroscopic IPT release under spinal *** revealed synovitis with fibrous tissues around the IPT and various lesions related to the implants after *** tenotomy and debridement with biopsy were performed;histopathologic studies showed chronic inflammation with synovial *** patients were encouraged to start walking immediately after surgery,and they returned to complete daily function early after *** experienced no recurrence of groin pain or any implant-related problems 5 years *** Arthroscopic IPT release for cup malposition produced excellent midterm outcomes without recurrence of groin pain and implant-related problems.

In this study,the improvement effects of oral administration of polysaccharides isolated from Saururus chinensis on a DSS-induced ulcerative colitis mouse model were *** achieve this,***-derived crude polysaccharides(SCP)were extracted using hot water extraction and ethanol *** is composed primarily of eight monosaccharides,including galacturonic acid(46.6%),galactose(10.4%),arabinose(5.6%),and rhamnose(3.8%),that are typical sugar components of pectic *** administration of SCP recovered body weight loss and significantly alleviated various ulcerative colitis symptoms such as stool consistency,blood in stool,and blood in the ***,the DSS-treated group that exhibited a decrease in colon length,and SCP treatment significantly reduced colon length shortening in a dose-dependent *** of inflammatory factors such as interleukin-6,tumor necrosis factor-α,and myeloperoxidase were lower in the SCP-treated groups than they were in the DSS-treated *** contrast,Alcian blue-periodic acid Schiff staining revealed that SCP treatment effectively maintained the amount of mucus and goblet cells in the intestinal lumen compared to that in the DSS-treated *** short-chain fatty acid content decreased by DSS administration was recovered through oral administration of SCP,and the amount of butyric acid was significantly ***,the aforementioned results suggest that SCP isolated from *** is a potent candidate for use as a new health functional food and pharmaceutical ingredient for colitis treatment.
