Background Macrophage activation syndrome(MAS)is a rare,life-threatening complication of Kawasaki disease(KD).Early recognition and treatment of MAS are very important,but sometimes it is difficult to distinguish MAS from a severe form of *** sources A PubMed search was performed in Clinical Queries using the key terms“macrophage activation syndrome or secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis(HLH)”and“Kawasaki disease”.Results KD patients with MAS show high intravenous immunoglobulin(IVIG)resistance and coronary *** is also as high as MAS in other *** fever greater than 10 days is highly associated with development of MAS in *** is observed in more than two-thirds of KD patients with *** is often the earliest laboratory finding of *** is highly specific and sensitive for detecting MAS in KD;so,ferritin levels should be checked if there are unexplained clinical exacerbations in KD *** the under-recognition of MAS in KD,it is prudent to consider resistant KD as occult/subclinical *** KD patients with MAS have good outcomes on immune ***,if KD patients fulfill the HLH-2004 diagnostic criteria,they may undergo longer and more intensive treatment than *** The possible existence of MAS should be taken into account when a KD patient shows persistent fever,splenomegaly,thrombocytopenia,hyperferritinemia,or IVIG *** under-diagnosis of MAS in patients with KD is an important issue to be ***,however,there is a possibility of over-treatment of MAS in patients with KD.

Six new aliphatic alcohol and ester compounds of n-octacos-9-enyl propionate （1）, 4-（3-formylheptyl）cyclohexyl 4-（cyclohexylcarbonyloxymethyl）cyclohexyl-carboxylate （2）, n-hentriacont-25-en-5α-ol （3）, n-hexetriacont-9,26-dien-8α,11β,23α-triol （4）, n-tetracontan-15α-ol （5） and n-tritetracontan-5α-ol （6） were isolated from the hulls of Oryza sativa. The structures were established on the basis of spectroscopic analysis.

In this pape,~ we study uniform L1-stability and asymptotic completeness of the Vlasov-Yukawa-Boltzmann （V-Y-B） system. For a sufficiently small rand smooth initial data, we show that classical solutions exist globally and satisfy dispersion estimates, uniform L1-stability with respect to initial data and scattering type estimate. We show that the short range nature of interactions due to the Yukawa potential enables us to construct robust Lyapunov type functional to derive scattering states. In the zero mass limit of force carrier particles, we also show that the classical solutions to the V-Y-B system converge to that of the Vlasov-Poisson-Boltzmann （V-P-B） system in any finite time interval

Lasing threshold in the conventional lasers is the minimum input power required to initiate laser *** has been widely accepted that the conventional laser threshold occurring around a unity intracavity photon number can be eliminated in the input-output curve by making the so-calledβparameter approach *** recent experiments,however,have revealed that even in this case the photon statistics still undergo a transition from coherent to thermal statistics when the intracavity mean photon number is decreased below *** the coherent output is only available above the diminished threshold,the long-sought promise of thresholdless lasers to produce always coherent light has become ***,we present an always-coherent thresholdless laser based on superradiance by two-level atoms in a quantum superposition state with the same phase traversing a high-Q *** lasing was observed without the conventional lasing threshold around the unity photon number and the photon statistics remained near coherent even below *** coherence was improved by reducing the coupling constant as well as the excited-state amplitude in the superposition *** results pave a way toward always-coherent thresholdless lasers with more practical media such as quantum dots,nitrogen-vacancy centers and doped ions in crystals.

As the diagnostic criteria for Kawasaki disease (KD) consist of the clinical features that are shared by other childhood febrile illnesses [1, 2], KD is sometimes confused with a bacterial infection, leading to clinical situations in which children with the disease receive antibiotics (3–5)Here, we report the extent of antibiotic use in children with KD and the clinical parameters confusing KD with a bacterial infection.

Nickel-iron nanocrystalline alloys with different compositions and grain sizes were fabricated by electroplating for MEMS devices. The iron content of the deposits was changed by varying the nickel/iron ion ratio in the electrolyte. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis was applied for measuring the strength of the texture and grain size of the deposits. The nickel/iron atom ratio of the deposits was analyzed by EDS. The hardness of the alloys was evaluated by Vickers hardness indenter. The internal stress of the deposits was measured by thin film stress measurement using Stoney's formula. Surface morphology and roughness were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). hardness and internal stress mechanism of the electroplated structure as a function of Fe ion content and current density were revealed. With increasing the iron content, the hardness and internal stress of the deposits increase. An excellent correlation between the increase in the internal stress and the loss of (200) texture were found.

Accurate determination of the presence and degree of fibrosis in liver is of great importance, because the prognosis and management strategies for chronic liver disease depend mainly on these factors. To date, liver biopsy (LB) remains the "gold standard" for assessing the severity of liver fibrosis; however, LB is often limited by its invasiveness, sampling error, and intra/ inter-observer variability in histological interpretation. Furthermore, repeated LB examinations within a short time interval are indeed ineligible in a real clinical practice. Thus, due to the pressing need for non-invasive surrogates for liver fibrosis, transient elastography (TE),as a novel ultrasound based technology, has allowed a noninvasive measurement of liver stiffness and has gained in popularity over recent years. In the past few years, additional roles for transient TE beyond the initial purpose of a non-invasive surrogate for LB have included the prediction of the most two critical consequences of fibrosis progression: the development of portal hypertension-related complications and hepatocellular carcinoma. This indicates that the role of transient TE is not merely limited to reducing the need for LB, but transient TE can enable the establishment of tailored management strategies by providing more detailed prognostic information. In particular, under the concept in which the clinical course of liver fibrosis is dynamic and bidirectional, especially when appropriate intervention is commenced, transient TE can be used to track the dynamic changes in fibrotic burden during antiviral or antifibrotic treatment. This review discussed extended applications of transient TE in prediction of the development of real clinical endpoints from a longitudinal perspective.

Al-doped ZnO(AZO) is considered as an alternative to transparent conductive oxide *** and achieving a stable surface are important challenges in the development and optimization of dry etching processes, which must be overcome for the application of AZO in various devices. Therefore, in this study, the etch rate and surface properties of an AZO thin film after plasma etching using the adaptive coupled plasma system were investigated. The fastest etch rate was achieved with a CF_(4)/Ar ratio of 50:50 sccm. Regardless of the ratio of CF_(4) to Ar,the transmittance of the film in the visible region exceeded 80%. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis of the AZO thin film confirmed that metal-F bonding persists on the surface after plasma etching. It was also shown that F eliminates O vacancies. Consequently, the work function and bandgap energy increased as the ratio of CF-4 increased. This study not only provides information on the effect of plasma on AZO thin film, but identifies the cause of changes in the device characteristics during device fabrication.

Heteroatom-doped transition metal oxides have attracted great attention as advanced anode materials for lithium-ion batteries due to their high theoretical capacity and superior ***,the limited resource availability has led to a substantial rise in prices for valuable metals such as Ni and Co,posing a significant challenge for their *** address this issue,recycling of these metals from waste materials have gained prominence,and particularly the recovery of Co has been mostly focused on its economic ***,we introduced a novel recycling strategy for fabrication of heteroatomdoped CoO_(x)(comprising mainly Co_(3)O_(4)with a minor CoO phase)anode with a yolk–shell structure for lithium-ion batteries,by separating Co from cemented tungsten carbide *** employing a simple leaching process and subsequent spray pyrolysis,the yolk–shell structured microsphere comprising CoO_(x)was successfully ***,the presence of other waste metals in the leachate facilitated multi-heteroatom doping during ***,the introduction of various dopants into CoO_(x)induced oxygen vacancy formation,thereby enhancing the electrochemical properties of the CoO_(x)*** a result,compared with the phase-pure(undoped)CoO_(x)yolk–shell,the heteroatom-doped CoO_(x)yolk–shell exhibited robust cycling stability(602 mAh·g^(-1)for 200 cycles at 1 A·g^(-1))and excellent rate capability(210 mAh·g^(-1)at 10 A·g^(-1)).
