Background Coronavirus disease 2019 in children,or pediatric COVID-19,initially was described as an acute respiratory syndrome similar to the adult presentation but with less severe *** We describe the clinical characteristics,disease presentation,treatments and outcomes of all pediatric cases with COVID-19 admitted to the reference hospitals in Navarra,Spain during the first wave of the COVID-19 outbreak(February-May 2020).Results We found a low number of hospitalized cases in infants and children compared to adults with a hospitalization ratio of 1:*** of these hospitalized cases did not suffer from severe *** 80%of infections reported household contacts,and the mother was the known-contact in 83%of these cases.72%of hospitalized cases were previously healthy *** describe how symptoms in pediatric cases are nonspecific and how COVID-19 can be presented with a wide range and variety of *** symptoms are not always present,and severe neurological and cardiac features can occur in previously healthy *** Epidemiological description and case reports will be key to a better recognition and to adequate treatment of pediatric patients with COVID-19.

In turbulence modeling, the RNG and Realizable models have important improvements in the turbulent production and dissipation terms in comparison to the Standard. The selection of the appropriate turbulence model has an impact on the convergence and solution in STRs, and they are used in mixing, multiphase modeling or as starting solution of transient models as DES and LES. Although there are several studies with the pitched blade turbine(PBT) impeller, most of them used the Standard model as representative of all k–ε models, using structured hexahedral grids composed of low number of cells, and in some cases under axial symmetry ***, in this work the assessment of the Standard, RNG and Realizable models to describe the turbulent flow field of this impeller, using the Multiple Reference Frame(MRF) and Sliding Mesh(SM) approaches with tetrahedral domains in dense grids, is presented. This kind of cell elements is especially suitable to reproduce complex geometries. Flow velocities and turbulent parameters were verified experimentally by PIV and torque measurements. The three models were capable of predicting fairly the pumping number, the power number based on torque, and velocities. Although the RNG improved the predictions of the turbulent kinetic energy and dissipation rate, the Realizable model presented better performance for both approaches. All models failed in the prediction of the total dissipation rate, and a dependence of its value on the number of cells for the MRF was found.

Innovative circular path harvester for mechanical harvesting of irregular and large-canopy olive trees

The harvesting process of the olive tree is mainly performed by manual means,because traditional olive orchards(the main planting typology)are formed of irregular,large-canopy trees that are very difficult to harvest *** that reason,the cost of harvesting is very high,and it threatens the future of these plantations whose conversion to other more modern layouts is not always possible due to several *** introduction of a harvester may represent the technological change that is the key factor for improved *** main purpose of this work was to develop a harvester based on canopy shaker technology for work on irregular,large trees in a circular *** design of the harvester was based on a determination of tree geometry,together with tree *** tests were used to determine machine-tree interaction,and to evaluate the removal,catch frame and driven *** proposed innovation allowed the fully mechanical harvest of previously planted trees with a removal efficiency of over 84%,achieving an effective field capacity of 0.21 hm^(2)/*** the results so far have been promising,further improvements are advisable in machine and tree adaptation.

We herein report a high-resolution nanopatterning method using low voltage electromechanical spinning with a rotating collector to obtain aligned graphitized micro and nanowires for carbon nanomanufacturing.A small wire diameter and a small inter-wire spacing were obtained by controlling the electric field,the spinneret-to-collector distance,the pyrolysis parameters,the linear speed of the spinneret,the rotational speed of the *** a simple scaling analysis,we show how the straightness and the diameter of the wires can be controlled by the electric field and the distance of the spinneret to the collector.A small inter-wire spacing,as predicted by a simple model,was achieved by simultaneously controlling the linear speed of the spinneret and the rotational speed of the *** drying of the polymer nanowires enabled the facile fabrication of suspended wires over various *** polyacrylonitrile wires were carbonized using standard stabilization and pyrolysis to obtain carbon *** carbon nanowires with a diameter of<50 nm were *** also established a method for making patterned,highly graphitized structures by using the aforementioned carbon wire structures as a template for chemical vapor deposition of *** patterning technique offers high throughput for nano writing,which outperforms other existing nanopatterning techniques,making it a potential candidate for large-scale carbon nanomanufacturing.

Performance evaluation of lateral canopy shakers with catch frame for continuous harvesting of oranges for juice industry

Citrus is mainly oriented to fresh consumption,and harvesting is usually performed ***,the high cost of harvesting and the low availability of labour can compromise the profitability of the crop when it is destined to juice *** development of citrus mechanical harvesting for industrial processing is conditioned to reach a high fruit removal efficiency,with a reduced damage to both fruit and *** current machines available are very large,requiring extensive plantations with long rows of trees to be *** this study,two lateral canopy shakers equipped with a catch frame were evaluated to harvest independently both sides of the hedge on intensive citrus plantations with the main objective of determining their performance and *** lateral canopy shakers tested were three tractor-drawn machines,one commercial machine and two *** tested machines reached a mean value of 78%of fruit ***,the prototypes,equipped with a catch frame,were able to recover a mean value of 70%of *** the results were promising,for achieving an efficient result,the application of this harvesting technology still requires a process of improvement,and the adaptation of both the machine and the *** machines should reduce the amount of post-harvest ground fruit(5.9%-10.4%).Tree damages generated by the contact of the catch frame with the trunk and the metal rods with main branches were the most ***,it is still necessary to increase the ground speed of the machinery and improving the design of the rods,regulating the rod penetrating deep in the canopy to improve the fruit recovery and limit the damage caused to the trees.

Current Situation and Perspective of Second Generation Solid Biofuels Production： Case Study——CMR （Campinas Metropolitan Region）, Sao Paulo, Brazil

This proposal aims to assess the market introduction of advanced technologies for the production of 2nd generation solid biofuels, specifically technologies for the production of briquettes and pellets from agro-industrial wastes. The development of this project will evaluate the socio-environmental and techno-economical feasibility and use of 2nd generation solid biofuels in the CMR （Campinas Metropolitan Region）. The successful introduction of second generation briquettes and pellets to market depends, mainly, on two aspects： logistics in supply chains which generate waste, and the efficiency of production technologies. The study of logistics （supply chain） is based on survey data of the main productive supply chains, analysis, and modeling to optimize the facility location in the network for each case. The evaluation of the efficiency of production technology is provided by testing specially designed waste compacting devices, and comparing these results with the resulting power consumption during the production, in demonstration-scale, of a round of briquettes. The costs and consumption during the demonstration-scale production of briquettes are used for validation and correction of an optimization model. This project was approved in late 2012 with a period of two years for its implementation. Later in 2013, it was decided also to extend its implementation to the Metropolitan Region of Manaus, Amazon. Due to its recent beginning, the results shown here are only preliminary.

Comparison between type-2 and type-1 myocardial infarction：clinical features, treatment strategies and outcomes

Objective To assess the differences in incidence, clinical features, current treatment strategies and outcome in patients with type-2vs. type-1 acute myocardial infarction （AMI）.Methods We included 824 consecutive patients with a diagnosis of type-1 or type-2 AMI. Dur-ing index hospitalization, clinical features and treatment strategies were collected in detail. At 1-year follow-up, mortality, stroke, non-fatal myocardial infarction and major bleeding were ***-1 AMI was present in 707 （86%） of the cases while 117 （14%） were classified as type-2. Patients with type-2 AMI were more frequently female and had higher co-morbidities such as diabetes, previous non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndromes, impaired renal function, anaemia, atrial fibrillation and malignancy. However, preserved left ventricular ejection fraction and normal coronary arteries were more frequently seen, an invasive treatment was less common, and anti-platelet medications, statins and beta-blockers were less prescribed in patients with type-2 AMI. At 1-year follow-up, type-2 AMI was associated with a higher crude mortality risk （HR： 1.75, 95% CI： 1.14-2.68;P = 0.001）, but this association did not remain significant after multivariable adjustment （P = 0.785）. Furthermore, we did not find type-2 AMI to be associated with other clinical *** In this real-life population, compared with type-1, type-2 AMI were predominantly women and had more co-morbidities. Invasive treatment strategies and cardioprotective medications were less used in type-2, while the 1-year clinical outcomes were similar.

Schedule-Induced Polydipsia:Searching for the Endophenotype of Compulsive Behavior

The development of excessive and persistent drinking under intermittent food-reinforcement schedules, known Schedule-induced polydipsia (SIP), has been proposed as a successful animal model to study compulsive behaviors. On the last decade, we have been working in our laboratory on the stratification of the compulsive rats on SIP in order to know whether differences in the acquisition of compulsive drinking behavior could predict alterations in other behavioral measures as well as in the neurochemical function typically associated with compulsive spectrum disorders. The aim of this review is to collate the main findings relevant to the characterization and use of the high compulsive drinking rats (HD) in SIP as a possible compulsive endophenotype. The review of the genetic, behavioral and neurochemical differences found in the selection allows us to conclude that HD rats could be a valid model for studying the compulsive phenotype and modelling psychopathology common to a variety of compulsivity spectrum disorders such as obsessivecompulsive disorder (OCD), schizophrenia and alcohol abuse.

Evaluation of the Synergistic Effect of EDTA-Functionalized Chitosan Nanoparticles on Imipenem Delivery in Pseudomonas aeruginosa Carbapenem-Resistant Strain AG1

Metallo-β-lactamases are bacterial zinc-dependent enzymes involved in the hydrolysis of β-lactamic antibiotics representing the main cause of bacterial resistance to carbapenems, drugs of last resort for treating infections caused by multiresistant bacteria. We elaborated the hypothesis that it is possible to inhibit the enzymatic activity of metallo-β-lactamases by lowering the availability of zinc in the extracellular medium using metal chelating agents such as EDTA carried on nanoparticles. Chitosan, as linear cationic polysaccharide is frequently used in biomedical and pharmaceutical applications, has been studied as a biocompatible encapsulating agent in drug delivery systems and is an ideal transport agent for bioactive molecular complexes in antibiotic applications due to its ability to associate with negatively charged substances. We developed novel nanoparticles using chitosan as a transport matrix for β-lactamic antibiotics. Nanoparticles were synthesized according to the ion gelation method using tripolyphosphate as crosslinking agent. Nanoparticles were functionalized by the adsorption of EDTA, which acts as complexifying agent for Zn2+ ions causing inhibition of metallo-β-lactamases activity. We evaluate the antimicrobial effects of EDTA-functionalized nanoparticles with an imipenem cargo on the clinical isolate P. aeruginosa AG1, a carbapenem-resistant high-risk clone ST-111 carrying both blaIMP-18 and blaVIM-2 metallo-β-lactamases genes.
