Optical gain enhancement of two-dimensional CsPbBr3 nanosheets was studied when the amplified spontaneous emission is guided by a patterned structure of *** the uncertainties and pitfalls in retrieving a gain coefficient from the variable stripe length method,a gain contour g((h))ω.x)was obtained in the plane of spectrum energy(hω)and stripe length(x),whereby an average gain was obtained,and gain saturation was *** and temperature dependence of the gain contour show that the waveguide enhances both gain and thermal stability due to the increased optical confinement and heat dissipation,and the gain origins were attributed to the two-dimensional excitons and the localized states.

Ischemic preconditioning elicited by a non-fatal brief occlusion of blood flow has been applied for an experimental therapeutic strategy against a subsequent fatal ischemic insult. In this study, we investigated the neuroprotective effects of ischemic preconditioning（2-minute transient cerebral ischemia） on calbindin D28k immunoreactivity in the gerbil hippocampal CA1 area following a subsequent fatal transient ischemic insult（5-minute transient cerebral ischemia）. A large number of pyramidal neurons in the hippocampal CA1 area died 4 days after 5-minute transient cerebral ischemia. Ischemic preconditioning reduced the death of pyramidal neurons in the hippocampal CA1 area. Calbindin D28k immunoreactivity was greatly attenuated at 2 days after 5-minute transient cerebral ischemia and it was hardly detected at 5 days post-ischemia. Ischemic preconditioning maintained calbindin D28 k immunoreactivity after transient cerebral ischemia. These findings suggest that ischemic preconditioning can attenuate transient cerebral ischemia-caused damage to the pyramidal neurons in the hippocampal CA1 area through maintaining calbindin D28k immunoreactivity.

Corporate management performance evaluation currently focuses on financial aspects;however, it is necessary to identify and manage elements that contribute to increased economic values in the long run. When it comes to construction firms, most previous research did not cover weighting and estimation approaches for non-financial elements that ultimately influence financial status. In this research, the objective is to develop a management performance evaluation model for Korean construction firms. The model includes financial factors and non-financial factors. This research investigated actual data from Korean construction firmsandclassifiedtheir characteristics. This study is performed in two steps. First, this study derives KPIs for performance measurement techniques and weights the KPIs. And then, it applies the performance data of construction firms to the technique. The findings of this study show that Korean construction firms consider customers to be the foremost priority, converse to previous research which argued that the internal business process was the top priority. The performance measurement results can be fed back into strategies and plans to shed light on issues, reflect on management plans for subsequent years and modify mid to long-term strategies. Therefore, the developed model can help decision-makers effectively revise their management plans.

A concrete gravity base structure may not be suitable for offshore weak soil because of its heavy weight. Therefore, a conceptual model for a concrete offshore wind turbine structure suitable for weak soils is proposed. The proposed model is composed of a prestressed concrete(PSC) supported by a pile foundation. For a three-dimensional analysis of the large concrete structure, wave pressures based on the diffraction wave theory are developed using a three-dimensional solid finite element method. Static and dynamic analyses were performed to achieve the conceptual model of a PSC structure subjected to ocean environmental loads and a 5-MW turbine load on southwest coast in Korea. From the analysis, the maximum displacement and stresses of the proposed model did not exceed the allowable values from design standard, and the first mode of natural frequency of the structure was in a safe range to avoid resonance. The proposed model has enough structural stability to withstand external loads, and it is expected to be used in locations suitable for concrete gravity structures.

Eu3＋-doped （Y,Gd）NbO4 phosphor was synthesized by solid-state reaction for possible application in cold cathode fluorescent lamps. A broad absorption band with peak maximum at 272 nm was observed which was due to the charge transfer between Eu3＋ ions and neighboring oxygen anions. A deep red emission at the peak wavelength of 612 nm was observed which could be attributed to the 5D0→7F2 transition in Eu3＋ ions. The highest luminance for Y1-x-yGdyNbO4：Eux3＋ under 254 nm excitation was achieved at Eu3＋ concentration of 18 mol.% （x=0.18） and Gd3＋ concentration of 8.2 mol.% （y=0.082）. The luminance of Y0.738Gd0.082NbO4：Eu3＋0.18 was higher than that of a typical commercial phosphor Y2O3：Eu3＋ and the CIE chromaticity coordinate was （0.6490, 0.3506）, which was deeper than that of Y2O3：Eu3＋. The particle size of the synthesized phosphors was controlled by the NaCl flux and particle size as high as 8 μm with uniform size distribution of particles was obtained.

The intermediate phase formation and surface protection effects between SKD61 die mold alloys and aluminum alloys were investigated during a simulated die-casting *** surface coatings of SKD61 alloy were carried out via Si pack cementation coatings at 900 ℃ for 10 h and the ε-FeSi phase *** the coated SKD61 alloy was dipped in the liquid aluminum alloy(ALDC12),the surface coated SKD61 alloys showed better surface properties compared with uncoated SKD61 alloys,i.e.,the intermediate phases(FeSiAl compound) were not produced for the coated SKD61 *** coating layer of ε-FeSi served as a diffusion barrier for the formation of FeSiAl compounds.

To the Editor:Optic neuritis(ON)usually ends with one episode,but recurs in 3%to 5%of *** recurrent patients,those that emerge negative from multiple sclerosis or neuromyelitis optica(NMO)workup are diagnosed with chronic relapsing inflammatory optic neuropathy(CRION).This disease group,first named by Kidd et al,[1]refers to a clinical situation in which inflammatory optic nerve inflammation on both sides occurs repeatedly and worsens when steroids or immu-nosuppressants are *** diagnosis is important in this group because the risk of blindness is significant,and as such,treatment is focused on preserving ***,because a significant number of CRION patients suffer from ocular pain,alleviation of pain should not be overlooked.

Ethnicity might be associated with treatment outcomes in advanced prostate *** study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of androgen deprivation therapy(ADT)combined with apalutamide in East Asians with metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer(mCSPC).The original phase 3 Targeted Investigational Treatment Analysis of Novel Anti-androgen(TITAN)trial was conducted at 260 sites in 23 *** subgroup analysis included patients enrolled in 62 participating centers in China,Japan,and *** progression-free survival(PFS),time to prostate-specific antigen(PSA)progression,and PSA changes from baseline were compared between groups in the East Asian *** intent-to-treat East Asian population included 111 and 110 participants in the apalutamide and placebo groups,*** 24-month radiographic PFS rates were 76.1%and 52.3%in the apalutamide and placebo groups,respectively(apalutamide vs placebo:hazard ratio[HR]=0.506;95%confidence interval[CI],0.302–0.849;P=0.009).Median time to PSA progression was more favorable with apalutamide than placebo(HR=0.210;95%CI,0.124–0.357;P<0.001).Median maximum percentages of PSA decline from baseline were 99.0%and 73.9%in the apalutamide and placebo groups,*** most common adverse event(AE)was rash in the apalutamide group,with a higher rate than that in the placebo group(37.3%vs 9.1%).The most common grade 3 or 4 AEs were rash(12[10.9%])and hypertension(12[10.9%])for *** efficacy and safety of apalutamide in the East Asian subgroup of the TITAN trial are consistent with the global results.
