Background Racial disparities in cardiovascular conditions are well *** similar race-based discrepancies in health outcomes also exist among elderly patients undergoing surgical aortic valve replacement(SAVR) for aortic stenosis remains *** We abstracted data from the National(Nationwide) Inpatient Sample over a 20-year period from 2001 to 2020 using specific ICD-9 and ICD-10 *** included patients aged ≥ 60 and ≤ 80 years with races recorded as White,African American,or Hispanic at the time of their hospitalization for *** analyzed and reported the baseline characteristics,risk-adjusted inhospital mortality,and complications stratified by *** Of 420,181 patients studied,90.0% identified as White,4.0% as African American and 6.0% as *** a decrease in overall in-hospital mortality rates from 3.8% between 2001-2005 to 1.8% between 2016-2020,African Americans had higher odds of all-cause in-hospital deaths compared to Whites(a OR = 1.390,P stingly,African Americans were less likely to report events of acute ischemic stroke compared to Whites(a OR = 0.852,P stenosis,racial disparities in health outcomes remain pervasive with minorities more likely to report higher in-hospital morbidity and mortality.

Background:Large area forest inventories often use regular grids(with a single random start)of sample locations to ensure a uniform sampling intensity across the space of the surveyed populations.A design-unbiased estimator of variance does not exist for this ***,a quasi-default estimator applicable to simple random sampling(SRS)is used,even if it carries with it the likely risk of overestimating the variance by a practically important *** better exploit the precision of systematic sampling we assess the performance of five estimators of variance,including the quasi *** this study,simulated systematic sampling was applied to artificial populations with contrasting covariance structures and with or without linear *** compared the results obtained with the SRS,Matern’s,successive difference replication,Ripley’s,and D’Orazio’s variance ***:The variances obtained with the four alternatives to the SRS estimator of variance were strongly correlated,and in all study settings consistently closer to the target design variance than the estimator for *** latter always produced the greatest *** populations with a near zero spatial autocorrelation,all estimators,performed equally,and delivered estimates close to the actual design ***:Without a linear trend,the SDR and DOR estimators were best with variance estimates more narrowly distributed around the benchmark;yet in terms of the least average absolute deviation,Matern’s estimator held a narrow *** a strong or moderate linear trend,Matern’s estimator is *** large populations,and a low sampling intensity,the performance of the investigated estimators becomes more similar.

Robustness of transportation networks is one of the major challenges of the 21 st *** paper investigates the resilience of global air transportation from a complex network point of view,with focus on attacking strategies in the airport network,i.e.,to remove airports from the system and see what could affect the air traffic system from a passenger＇s ***,we identify commonalities and differences between several robustness measures and attacking strategies,proposing a novel notion of functional robustness：unaffected passengers with *** apply twelve attacking strategies to the worldwide airport network with three weights,and evaluate three robustness *** find that degree and Bonacich based attacks harm passenger weighted network *** evaluation is geared toward a unified view on air transportation network attack and serves as a foundation on how to develop effective mitigation strategies.

Solid oxide fuel cells based on doped cefia electrolytes offer operating temperatures of -600℃. During recent years much atten- tion was aimed at successful powder preparation with high sinter activity and high conductivity. The properties of ceria electrolyte are very sensitive to impurities introduced during powder and electrolyte fabrication. One of the most successful and commercially available processes for the production of clean powders is based on the addition of several percent metallic cations that will react with impurities and segregate into the triple points of grain boundaries. In this work the results obtained from doping of CGO20 by 2% Ca and prepared by different routes were presented. The way of introducing Ca seemed to play an important role.

The ability of a plant cell to expand is largely defined by the physical constraints imposed by its cell wall. Accordingly, cell wall properties have to be regulated during development. The pectic polysaccharide homogalacturonan is a major component of the plant primary walls. Biosynthesis and in muro modification of homogalacturonan have recently emerged as key determinants of plant development, controlling cell adhesion, organ development, and phyllotactic patterning. This review will focus on recent findings regarding impact of homogalacturonan content and methylesterification status of this polymer on plant life. Demethyl-esterification of homogalacturonan occurs through the action of the ubiquitous enzyme ＇pectin methyl-esterase＇. We here describe various strategies developed by the plant to finely tune the methyl-esterification status of homogalacturonan along key events of the plant lifecycle.

Classification and Analysis of Tube Hydroforming Processes with Respect to Adaptive FEM Simulations

Tube hydroforming process is a relative new process f or production of structural parts of low weight and high rigidity. The successfu lness of the process depends largely on the a proper selection of loading path w hich is axial feeding distance as related to the applied internal pressure. Due to the complicated nature of plastic deformation, a optimum loading path which w ill guarantee good hydroformed parts free of winkle and fracture has often to be determined by finite element analysis. In order to save trials and errors, adap tive FEM simulation method has been developed. To effectively apply the adaptive simulation method, we have to know the applicability of the method. In this pap er, a classification of tube hydroforming (THF) processes based on sensitivity to loading parameters has been suggested. Characteristics of the classification have been analyzed in terms of failure mode, dominant loading parameters and th eir working windows. It was discussed that the so called pressure dominant THF p rocess is the most difficult process for both simulation in FEM analysis and pra ctical operation in real manufacturing situation. To effectively find out the op timum loading path for pressure dominant THF process, adaptive FEM simulation st rategies are mostly needed.

欧盟不是一个像联合国一样的国际组织,也不是一个为了取代国家政府的“政府”。欧盟对于“组织”更为强势而在“政府”面前却有无法弥补的劣势。它的作用体现在支撑欧盟成员国之间的共同行动比各自为战的单独行动更为高效。可以说欧盟是独一无二的。欧盟是一个由各国政府共同建立,在某些特定领域达成共识并共同行动的国际组织。在这些特定领域中,最好的政治理念是欧盟成员国之间合作共赢,而非单干。中国外交政策的原则是致力于促进世界和平与发展、国际合作。欧盟一直是中国在各领域良好的合作伙伴:如政治领域、经济领域、文化领域。中欧双方共同努力构建起来的联系与合作日益亲密,迅猛的发展势头令人无法想象。中国、欧盟两大经济体经济增长举世瞩目。中国正史无前例的在欧洲布局投资,同时欧洲各国也在紧密规划与中国的合作。本文论点是阐述欧盟中国之间合作潜力巨大。本文着力分析了 21世纪全球政治、经济格局之现状,并预测了未来战略合作伙伴关系。我们看到越来越多的项目如雨后春笋般在两个合作伙伴之间生根发芽,这种基于政治、经济、文化构建起的友谊牢不可破。对于中欧伙伴关系中出现的一般问题,处理方法是改变视角、审视范围与合作规模。中国与欧盟的战略伙伴关系的观点存在不同:中国强调的是综合、整体和长远的发展构架才能维持稳定和健康的双边关系,而欧盟则更看重的实质性的进展与具体的结果。其结论是:一种伙伴关系,两种处理方法。

The mechanical and microstructural properties as well as crystallographic textures of asymmetrically rolled low carbon steel were *** modelling of plastic deformation was carried out in two scales:in the macro-scale,using the finite elements method,and in the crystallographic scale,using the polycrystalline deformation *** internal stress distribution in the rolling gap was calculated using the finite elements method and these stresses were then applied to the polycrystalline elasto-plastic deformation *** mechanical properties,namely residual stress distribution,deformation work,applied force and torques,and bend amplitude,were *** diffraction measurements,X-ray and electron backscatter diffraction,enabled the examination of texture heterogeneity and selected microstructure *** predicted textures agree well with those determined *** plastic anisotropy of cold rolled ferritic steel samples,connected with texture,was expressed by Lankford coefficient.
