Short lived climate forcing agents(SLCFAs) such as black carbon and ozone offer important policy opportunities to reduce radiative forcing in the short term(this decade),while also reducing air pollution *** of the combination of high absorption,a regional distribution roughly aligned with solar *** the capacity to form widespread atmospheric brown clouds in a mixture with other aerosols and ozone,emissions of black carbon are the second strongest contribution to current global warming,after carbon dioxide emissions. The interception of solar radiation by atmospheric brown clouds leads to dimming at the Earth’s surface with important implications for the hydrological cycle,and the deposition of black carbon darkens snow and ice surfaces,which can contribute to melting,in particular of Arctic sea ice. Reducing SLCFAs is a challenge as they are emitted and produced across a wide spectrum of source - *** this paper we summarize our capabilities to predict the impacts of short lived forcing agents,and their local,regional and global extents,building upon studies done in Asia. We also discuss possible policy measures for reducing them.

Study of the Diffusion Behavior of Seawater Absorption in Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes/Halloysite Nanotubes Hybrid Nanofillers Modified Epoxy-Based Glass/Carbon Fiber Composites

In the maritime industry, cost-effective and lightweight Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composites offer excellent mechanical properties, design flexibility, and corrosion resistance. However, their reliability in harsh seawater conditions is a concern. Researchers address this by exploring three approaches: coating fiber surfaces, hybridizing fibers and matrices with or without nanofillers, and interply rearrangement. This study focuses on evaluating the synergistic effects of interply rearrangement of glass/carbon fibers and hybrid nanofillers, specifically Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) and Halloysite nanotubes (HNT). The aim is to enhance impact properties by minimizing moisture absorption. Hybrid nanocomposites with equal-weight proportions of two nanofillers: 0 wt.%, 1 wt.%, and 2 wt.% were exposed to seawater for 90 days. Experimental data was subjected to modelling through the application of Predictive Fick’s Law. The study found that the hybrid composite containing 2 wt.% hybrid nanofillers exhibited a 22.10% increase in impact performance compared to non-modified counterparts. After 90 days of seawater aging, the material exhibited enhanced resistance to moisture absorption (15.74%) and minimal reduction in impact strength (8.52%) compared to its dry strength, with lower diffusion coefficients.

Improved performance of naringenin herbosomes over naringenin in streptozotocin- induced diabetic rats: In vitro and in vivo evaluation

Objective:To prepare naringenin herbosome and evaluate its antidiabetic ***:Herbosomes were prepared by the solvent evaporation *** vitro parameters like particle size,polydispersity index,zeta potential,and entrapment efficiency were estimated and in vitro diffusion study was *** in vivo studies were also performed in streptozotocin-induced diabetic male Sprague Dawley rats to evaluate blood glucose,total cholesterol,triglyceride,blood urea nitrogen,total protein,albumin level,aspartate aminotransferase,and alanine aminotransferase ***:The optimized herbosome batch showed a particle size of 564.4 nm,a polydispersity index of 0.412,and zeta potential of−39.3 *** percentage entrapment of this formulation was 84.04%,with complete drug release within 8 *** of diabetic rats with naringenin herbosomes for 28 d significantly reduced the elevated level of plasma glucose as compared to plain *** biochemical parameters,the treatment showed a significant decrease in total cholesterol,triglyceride,and blood urea nitrogen;while elevated levels of aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase were returned to *** naringenin and herbosome formulation at high dose increased the total protein whereas albumin level significantly increased in naringenin herbosomes at the highest dose but not in the pure naringenin treatment ***:Naringenin herbosomes could improve the metabolic profile of diabetic rats,indicating enhanced antidiabetic activity of herbosome formulation.

Inclusion complexes of cefuroxime axetil with β-cyclodextrin:Physicochemical characterization, molecular modeling and effect of Larginine on complexation

The inclusion complexes of poorly water-soluble cephalosporin, cefuroxime axetil(CFA), were prepared with β-cyclodextrin(βCD) with or without addition of L-arginine(ARG) to improve its physicochemical properties. We also investigated the effect of ARG on complexation efficiency(CE) of βCD towards CFA in an aqueous medium through phase solubility behaviour according to Higuchi and Connors. Although phase solubility studies showed AL(linear) type of solubility curve in presence and absence of ARG, the CE and association constant(Ks) of βCD towards CFA were significantly promoted in presence of ARG,justifying its use as a ternary component. The solid systems of CFA with βCD were obtained by spray drying technique with or without incorporation of ARG and characterized by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), X-ray powder diffractometry(XRPD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and saturation solubility and dissolution studies. The molecular modeling studies provided a better insight into geometry and inclusion mode of CFA inside βCD cavity. The solubility and dissolution rate of CFA were significantly improved upon complexation with βCD as compared to CFA alone. However, ternary system incorporated with ARG performed better than binary system in physicochemical evaluation. In conclusion, ARG could be exploited as a ternary component to improve the physicochemical properties of CFA via βCD complexation.
