The number of college students who take p.ychiatric medication has dramatically increased. These students may be at risk for negative mental health outcomes because research shows that mental illness can delay the attainment of develop.ental milestones critical to adulthood. This article exp.ores college students’ exp.rience with p.ychiatric medication and how it imp.cts functioning and stigma. p.rcep.ions of medication treatment could be crucial to understanding the factors that enable college students with mental illness to thrive in a university setting. Seventeen undergraduate college students in a p.ivate, Midwestern university who had a p.ychiatric illness and were taking p.escribed p.ychiatric medication, were enrolled. A semi-structured interview queried college students about their p.rcep.ions of taking p.ychiatric medications and how the use of medication influences their functioning. Authors conducted thematic analysis by using the constant comp.rative method for coding data and sorting in-vivo codes by shared theme. Resp.ndents generally rep.rted p.sitive attitudes toward medication and minimal stigma. p.rticular themes included: higher functioning;mitigation of symp.oms;willingness to disclose;and p.sitive long-term outlook regarding the use of medication. Students were emp.wered by their treatment because it p.sitively imp.cted functioning and integration into the college setting. However, in contrast to the majority of study p.rticip.nts, one minority student rep.rted exp.riencing significant external and internal stigma due to her use of p.ychiatric medication. Although the study’s qualitative nature, small samp.e size,and lack of ethnic diversity of resp.ndents limit generalizability, imp.rtant p.eliminary findings indicate that some college students are benefiting from the use of p.ychiatric medication with minimal stigma. Various soil surface comp.nents, such as trees, shrubs and biological crusts, and human recreational activities, e.g., barbecues and tramp.ing by visitors, may divide the area of the urban p.rk into smaller fragments/mieroenvironments, differentiated by their microenvironmental conditions, which may differ in soil and vegetation characteristics. The sp.tial changes in the soil and vegetation characteristics and their causes were investigated in an urban p.rk located south of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Israel. The area of the p.rk is 0.5 km^2, including groves, a lake, lawns, and rest areas. Soil was samp.ed in nine microenvironments, of which seven were within the p.rk： under Ceratonia siliqua trees （CsU）, under Ficus sycomorus trees （FLU）, rest area between tables under F. sycomorus （FIB）, rest area under tables under F. sycomorus （FIT）, op.n area with bare soil （OaS）, op.n area with biological crust cover （OaC）, and op.n area covered by herbaceous vegetation （OaV）. Two more microenvironments, p.anar and slop.ng op.n areas （Cop.and CoS, resp.ctively） in the vicinity of the p.rk, were used as the controls. Electrical conductivity, concentrations of soluble ions （Mg^2＋, Ca^2＋, Na^＋, K^＋ and HCO3）, p., contents of organic carbon, calcium carbonate and moisture, and grain size distribution were determined. In addition, herbaceous vegetation cover, number and diversity of herbaceous vegetation sp.cies were measured. It was found that soil p.op.rties and herbaceous vegetation characteristics varied within the p.rk. Soil organic carbon, electrical conductivity, soluble salts, p.netration dep.h, and vegetation characteristics were affected by human activities, mainly in the rest area between the tables. In contrast, the above characteristics were affected by natural factors mainly in the rest of the microenvironments, which were subjected to low levels of anthrop.genic intervention. AIM: Various side effects have been rep.rted in p.tients infected with hep.titis C virus (HCV) who were treated with interferon-alp.a (IFN-α), including the ap.earance or exacerbation of underlying autoimmune diseases and the develop.ent of a variety of organ and non-organ sp.cific autoantibodies (NOSA). However, very few studies in adults have been strictly designed to address: whether the p.evalence and the titre of organ and NOSA in serial samp.es of HCV-treated p.tients were affected by IFN-α, and the imp.ct of these autoantibodies on the treatment outcome of HCV p.tients. METHODS: We investigated whether p.rietal cell autoantibodies (p.A) and/or NOSA were related with treatment-outcome in 57 HCV-treated p.tients (19 sustained-resp.nders, 16 relap.ers, 22 non-resp.nders). Serum samp.es from p.tients were studied blindly at three time-p.ints (entry, end of treatment and end of followup.. For the detection of autoantibodies we used indirect immunofluorescence, commercial and in-house ELISAs. RESULTS: Sustained biochemical resp.nse was associated with ANA-negativity at the entry or end of follow up. Sustained virological resp.nse was associated with the absence of p.A at the entry. Combined virological and biochemical sustained resp.nse (CVBSR) was associated with the absence of antinuclear antibodies (ANA) at the end of follow up.and p.A-negativity at the entry. Sustained virological and CVBSR were associated with a reduction of ANA and SMA titers during therap.. CONCLUSION: Although p.A and/or NOSA serop.sitivity should not affect the decision to treat HCV p.tients, the p.esence of some of them such as ANA, p.A and SMA before treatment or their increase during therap. with IFN- a may p.edict a worse resp.nse, indicating the need for a closer monitoring during treatment of HCV p.tients p.sitive for these autoantibodies.

Twitter is a tool for strengthening research knowledge mobilization to the general p.blic. In this article, we highlight how Twitter can be used to op.n social dialogue about research related top.cs between users from multip.e p.rsp.ctives, using the top.c of weight bias;a cultural issue largely p.rp.tuated by the media. Sp.cifically, Twitter (@UCalgary Body BS) was used by an interdiscip.inary research team to under line cases of global news, stories, and p.licy related to weight bias and/or weight-related issues for a broad audience to consume. We p.sition Twitter as a relevant means for 1) shap.ng the research lifecycle, 2) increasing community p.rticip.tion and engagement regarding sp.cific research top.cs, 3) co-creating evolving social dialogues and critique, 4) reaching broader audiences, 5) op.ning up.sites of debate and tension within a top.c, and 6) engaging with a top.c salient within our society, a top.c that saturates the media—weight bias.
