AIM: To determine the pattern of secreted mucin expression in Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)-related, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)-related and idiopathic gastric ulcers. METHODS: We randomly selected 92 patients with H. pylori-associated (n = 30), NSAID-associated (n = 18), combined H. pylori and NSAID-associated gastric ulcers (n = 24), and patients with idiopathic gastric ulcers (n = 20). Immunohistochemistry for T-cell CD4/CD8, andfor mucin 5AC (MUC5AC) and mucin 6 (MUC6), was performed on sections of the mucosa from the ulcer margin. Inflammation score was assessed according to the Sydney system. RESULTS: MUC5AC was expressed on the surface epithelium (98.9%) and neck glands (98.9%) with minimal expression in the deep glands (6.5%). MUC6 was strongly expressed in the deep glands (97.8%), variable in the neck glands (19.6%) and absent in the surface epithelium (0%). The pattern of mucin expression in idiopathic ulcer margins was not different from the expression in ulcers associated with H. pylori, NSAIDs, or combined H. pylori and NSAIDs. CD4/CD8 ratio was higher in H. pylori-positive patients (P = 0.009). Idiopathic ulcers are associated with hospitalized patients and have higher bleeding and mortality rates. CONCLUSION: Idiopathic ulcers have a unique clinical profile. Gastric mucin expression in idiopathic gastric ulcers is unchanged compared with H. pylori and/or NSAID-associated ulcers.

MXenes have attracted increasing attention because of their rich surface functional groups,high electrical conductivity,and outstanding dispersibility in many solvents,and have demonstrated competitive efficiency in energy storage and conversion ***,the restacking nature of MXene nanosheets like other two-dimensional(2D)materials through van der Waals forces results in sluggish ionic kinetics,restricted number of active sites,and ultimate deterioration of MXene mate-rial/device *** strategy of raising 2D MXenes into three-dimensional(3D)structures has been considered an efficient way for reducing restacking,providing greater porosity,higher surface area,and shorter distances for mass transport of ions,surpassing standard one-dimensional(1D)and 2D *** multivalent ion batteries,the positive multivalent ions combine with two or more electrons at the same time,so their capacities are two or three times that of lithium-ion batteries(LIbs)under the same conditions,e.g.,a magnesium ion battery has a high theoretical specific capacity of 2205 mAh g^(−1)and a high volumetric capacity of 3833 mAh cm^(−3).In this review,we summarize the most recent strategies for fabricating 3D MXene architectures,such as assembly,template,3D printing,electrospinning,aerogel,and gas foaming *** consideration has been given to the applications of highly porous 3D MXenes in energy storage devices beyond LIbs,such as sodium ion batteries(SIbs),potassium ion batteries(KIbs),magnesium ion batteries(MIbs),zinc ion batteries(ZIbs),and aluminum ion batteries(AIbs).Finally,the authors provide a summary of the future opportunities and challenges for the construction of 3D MXenes and MXene-based electrodes for applications beyond LIbs.

The detection of crack on materials is an important issue in *** the contrary to conventional methods,such as manual inspection,sensor detection,and image processing techniques,a new simple method to detect the crack is proposed with optical voice recorder based on digital holography in this *** obtained with sound waves passing through the materials are recorded by using the digital holography *** behavior of the sound wave passing through the material,which is obtained from these holograms,gives image of *** this article,cracks in various materials are determined by the proposed new method,and crack images obtained with this new system are presented.

The research examines fluid behavior in a porous box-shaped *** fluid contains nanoscale particles and swimming microbes and is subject to magnetic forces at an *** circulation driven by biological factors is *** analysis combines a traditional numerical approach with machine learning *** equations describing the system are transformed into a dimensionless form and then solved using computational *** artificial neural network(ANN)model,trained with the Levenberg-Marquardt method,accurately predicts(Nu)values,showing high correlation(R=1),low mean squared error(MSE),and minimal error *** analysis reveals significant effects of parameters,length and location of source(b),(D),heat generation/absorption coefficient(Q),and porosity parameter(ε).Increasing the cooling area length(b)reduces streamline intensity and local Nusselt and Sherwood numbers,while decreasing isotherms,isoconcentrations,and *** bejan number(be+)decreases with increasing(b),whereas(be+++),and global entropy(e+++)*** in(Q)slightly affect streamlines but reduce isotherm intensity and average Nusselt ***(D)significantly impacts isotherms,iso-concentrations,andmicro-rotation,altering streamline contours and local bejan number ***(ε)enhances streamline strength and local Nusselt number profiles but has mixed effects on average Nusselt *** findings highlight the complex interactions between cooling area length,fluid flow,and heat transfer *** combining finite volume method(FVM)with machine learning technique,this study provides valuable insights into the complex interactions between key parameters and heat transfer,contributing to the development of more efficient designs in applications such as cooling systems,energy storage,and bioengineering.

Nutrient patterns and risk of cataract：a case-control study

AIM：To assess the relation between nutrient patterns and cataract ***：This is a hospital-based case-control study with 97 cataract patients and 198 matched *** consumption was collected through a valid food frequency questionnaire（FFQ）.Nutrient patterns were detected by applying factor *** logistic regression models were used to estimate odds ratio（ORs） and 95%***：We extracted 5 main nutrient *** 1 included niacin,thiamin,carbohydrates,protein,zinc,vitamin b6 and sodium（sodium pattern）.Factor 2 was characterized by oleic acid,monounsaturated fats,polyunsaturated fats,linoleic acid,trans fatty acid,linolenic acid,vitamin E and saturated fats（fatty acid pattern）.The third factor represented high intake of vitamin b12,vitamin D,cholesterol and calcium（mixed pattern）.The 4^（th） pattern was high in intake of beta and alpha carotene,vitamin A and vitamin C（antioxidant pattern）.Finally,the 5^（th） pattern loaded heavily on docosahexaenoic acid（DHA） and eicosapentaenoic acid（EPA）（omega-3 pattern）.In crude and multivariate analysis,the sodium pattern was associated with increased risk of cataract（OR=1.97,95%CI：1.09-3.96）.The fatty acid pattern elevated the risk of cataract（OR=1.94,95%CI：1.1-3.86）.Antioxidant pattern was associated with a significant 79% reduced risk（2^（nd） category compared with the 1st）.Omega-3 pattern was significantly negatively associated with risk of cataract（P=0.04）.CONCLUSION：These findings imply that nutrient patterns reflecting a combined consumption of nutrients might be important in the etiology of *** studies with more efficient designs are warranted to confirm our findings.

The role of vitamin D as an immune modulator has been emphasized in recent years,and low levels of the hormone were observed in several autoimmune diseases including multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus *** D mediates its effect though binding to vitamin D receptor(VDR),and activation of VDR-responsive *** VDR gene polymorphism was found to associate with autoimmune thyroid diseases(AITDs),few studies examined levels of vitamin D in these patients and those that did yielded conflicting *** therefore undertook to evaluate the levels of vitamin D in patients with AITDs compared to patients with non-AITDs and healthy *** vitamin D(25-OH)levels were measured in 50 patients with AITDs,42 patients with non-AITDs and 98 healthy subjects,utilizing the LIAISON chemiluminescence immunoassay(DiaSorin,Saluggia,Italy).VitaminD deficiency was designated at levels lower than 10 ng/*** antibodies,thyroid functions and demographic parameters were evaluated in all *** prevalence of vitamin D deficiency was significantly higher in patients with AITDs compared with healthy individuals(72% versus 30.6%;Pbodies(P=0.01)and abnormal thyroid function tests(P=0.059).Significantly low levels of vitamin D were documented in patients with AITDs that were related to the presence of anti thyroid antibodies and abnormal thyroid function tests,suggesting the involvement of vitamin D in the pathogenesis of AITDs and the advisability of supplementation.

Perchlorate and chlorate are present in various extraterrestrial celestial bodies throughout the solar system,such as Mars,the moon,and *** date,the origin mechanisms of perchlorate and chlorate on the Martian surface have been well-established;however,relatively little attention has been cast to airless ***,we experimentally investigated the potential oxidation mechanisms of chloride to chlorate and perchlorate,such as ultraviolet irradiation under H_(2)O-and O_(2)-free conditions and mechanical pulverization *** minerals,olivine,pyroxene,ilmenite,magnetite,TiO_(2)and anhydrous ferric sulfate,and lunar regolith simulants(low Ti,CLRS-1;high-Ti,CLRS-2)and their metallic iron(Fe^( 0))bearing counterparts were *** found that pulverization of dry matrix material-halite mixtures,even in the presence of O_(2),does not necessarily lead to perchlorate and chlorate formation without involving *** photocatalytic and H_(2)O and O_(2)-free conditions,olivine and pyroxene can produce oxychlorine(ClO_(x)^(−))species,although the yields were orders of magnitude lower than those under Martian-relevant ***-Fe^(0)particles in the lunar regolith and the common photocatalyst TiO_(2)can facilitate the ClO_(x)^(−)formation,but their yields were lower than those with *** oxides ilmenite and magnetite did not efficiently contribute to ClO_(x)^(−)*** results highlight the critical role of H_(2)O in the oxidation chloride to chlorate and perchlorate,and provide essential insights into the environmental influence on the formation of oxychlorine species on different celestial bodies.
