The Mutis-Timau Forest Complex,located on Timor Island,Indonesia,is a mountainous tropical forest area that gradually decreases due to deforestation and forest *** modelling studies based on patterns indicate that deforestation primarily occurs at lower elevations and near the boundaries of forests and settlements,often associated with shifting cultivation by local *** study adopts a process-based modelling approach,specifically the agent-based model,to simulate land changes,particularly farmers'expansion of agricultural land around the Mutis mountain *** underlying concept of this agent-based approach is the interaction between the human and environmental ***,representing the human system,interact with the land,which represents the environmental system,through land use decision-making *** research was conducted in the Community Forest of the Timor Tengah Utara District,one of the sites within the Mutis-Timau Forest Complex with the highest deforestation *** use change simulations were performed using agent-based modelling from 1999 to 2030,considering the socio-economic conditions of farmers,spatial preferences,land use decisions,and natural *** results revealed that the agricultural area increased by 14%under the Business as Usual scenario and 5%under the Reducing Emission from Deforestation and Forest Degradation scenario,compared to the initial agricultural area of 245 *** probability of farmers deciding to extend agricultural activities was positively associated with the number of livestock maintained by farmers and the size of the village ***,the likelihood of farmers opting for agricultural extensification decreased with an increase in the area of private land and the farmer's *** findings are crucial for the managers of the Mutis-Timau Forest Complex and other relevant stakeholders,as they aid in arranging actions to combat deforestation,designing proper fore

Process development for green part printing using binder jetting additive manufacturing

Originally developed decades ago, the binder jetting additive manufacturing （B J-AM） process possesses various advantages compared to other additive manufacturing （AM） technologies such as broad material compat- ibility and technological expandability. However, the adoption of B J-AM has been limited by the lack of knowledge with the fundamental understanding of the process principles and characteristics, as well as the relatively few systematic design guideline that are available. In this work, the process design considerations for B J-AM in green part fabrication were discussed in detail in order to provide a comprehensive perspective of the design for additive manufacturing for the process. Various process factors, including binder saturation, in- process drying, powder spreading, powder feedstock characteristics, binder characteristics and post-process curing, could significantly affect the printing quality of the green parts such as geometrical accuracy and part integrity. For powder feedstock with low flowability, even though process parameters could be optimized to partially offset the printing feasibility issue, the qualities of the green parts will be intrinsically limited due to the existence of large internal voids that are inaccessible to the binder. In addition, during the process development, the balanced combination between the saturation level and in-process drying is of critical importance in the quality control of the green parts.

Black liquor is obtained as a by-product of the pulping process,which is used to convert biomass into pulp by removing lignin,hemicelluloses and other extractives from wood to free cellulose *** represents a major constituent in black liquor,with quantities varying from 20%to 30%,of which a very low share is used for manufacturing value-added products,while the rest is mainly burned for energy purposes,thus underestimating its great potential as a raw ***,it is essential to establish new isolation and extraction methods to increase lignin valorization in the development of bio-based *** aim of this research work was to determine the effect of KOH or ethanol concentration as an isolation agent on lignin yields and the chemical characteristics of lignin isolated from formacell black liquor of oil palm empty fruit bunch(OPEFB).Isolation of lignin was carried out using KOH with various concentrations ranging from 5%to 15%(w/v).Ethanol was also used to precipitate lignin from black liquor at concentrations varying from 5%to 30%(v/v).The results obtained showed that the addition of KOH solution at 12.5%and 15%concentrations resulted in better lignin yield and chemical properties of lignin,i.e.,pH values of 3.86 and 4.27,lignin yield of 12.78%and 14.95%,methoxyl content of 11.33%and 10.13%,and lignin equivalent weights of 476.25 and 427.03,*** to its phenolic structure and rich functional groups that are favorable for modifications,lignin has the potential to be used as a green additive in the development of advanced biocomposite products in various applications to replace current fossil fuel-based material,ranging from fillers,fire retardants,formaldehyde scavengers,carbon fibers,aerogels,and wood adhesives.

Discovery of the remains of belemnites referred to the Hibolithes *** the Jurassic–Cretaceous Pedawan Formation in Sarawak,on the island of Borneo(Malaysia)comprises four fragments of belemnite *** specimens are characterized by multiple fractures and vein *** fragments measuring about 130 mm are relatively intact,with only part of the alveolar region missing;a third piece represents the middle part of a rostrum,and the fourth specimen is too fragmentary to be assigned to any specific part of the *** on specimen characteristics,a Tithonian–Hauterivian age is *** sedimentary succession that yielded the belemnite material comprises thick shale that reflects the Te division of Bouma *** occurrence of a Hibolithes taxon in the uppermost Jurassic to lowermost Cretaceous Pedawan Formation sediments in Borneo reflects a near to global palaeobiogeographic distribution of this genus.

Mechanical properties of steel, glass, and hybrid fiber reinforced reactive powder concrete

This study examines the properties of fiber-reinforced reactive powder concrete (FR-RPC). Steel fibers, glass fibers, and steel-glass hybrid fibers were used to prepare the FR-RPC. The non-fibrous reactive powder concrete (NF-RPC) was prepared as a reference mix. The proportion of fibers by volume for all FR-RPC mixes was 1.5%. Steel fibers of 13 mm length and 0.2 mm diameter were used to prepare the steel fiber-reinforced RPC (SFR-RPC). Glass fibers of 13 mm length and 1.3 mm diameter were used to prepare the glass fiber-reinforced RPC (GFR-RPC). The hybrid fiber-reinforced RPC (HFR-RPC) was prepared by mixing 0.9% steel fibers and 0.6% glass fibers. Compressive strength, axial load-axial deformation behavior, modulus of elasticity, indirect tensile strength, and shear strength of the RPC mixes were investigated. The results showed that SFR-RPC achieved higher compressive strength, indirect tensile strength and shear strength than NF-RPC, GFR-RPC, and HFR-RPC. Although the compressive strengths of GFR-RPC and HFR-RPC were slightly lower than the compressive strength of NF-RPC, the shear strengths of GFR-RPC and HFR-RPC were higher than that of NF-RPC.

Waste Glass(WGs)and Coir Fiber(CF)are not widely utilized,even though their silica and cellulose content can be used to create construction *** study aimed to optimize mortar compressive strength using Response Surface Methodology(RSM).The Central Composite Design(CCD)was applied to determine the optimization of WGs and CF addition to the mortar compressive *** strength and microstructure testing with Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM),Fourier-transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FT-IR),and X-Ray Diffraction(XRD)were conducted to specify the mechanical ability and bonding between the matrix,CF,and *** results showed that the chemical treatment of CF produced 49.15%cellulose,with an average particle size of 1521μ*** regression of a second-order polynomial model yielded an optimum composition consisting of 12.776%WGs and 2.344%CF with a predicted compressive strength of 19.1023 MPa.C-S-H gels were identified in the mortars due to the dissolving of SiO_(2) in WGs and *** silica from WGs increased the C-S-H *** plays a role in preventing,bridging,and branching micro-cracks before reaching maximum *** aggregates and chemically treated CF are suitable to be composited in mortar to increase compressive strength.

The effects of nanobubble on the growth environment,such as dissolved oxygen(DO)and total virus-bacteria,and growth performance,such as growth,feed conversion ratio(FCR),survival rate(SR),total harvest,and productivity,were investigated in Penaeus vannamei shrimp *** present study was carried out in 50 m2 indoor raceway ponds for 81 days with stocking density being set to 680 shrimp m􀀀3 in two types of treatment:nanobubble and diffuser aerator.A paddlewheel was used to distribute the oxygen saturation levels throughout the *** presence of nanoparticles was detected using a dynamic light scattering method and was reported to be 82.38 nm in size and􀀀26 mV for zeta potential *** was significantly higher under nanobubble *** virus-bacteria and FCR decreased,whereas SR,growth(weight and length),total harvest,and productivity increased with increasing *** SR was reported to reach 95%.The average weight and length of *** were 15.1±1.8 g and 13.1±1.1 cm,*** total harvest and productivity have doubled to 436 kg and 8.7 kg/*** results revealed that nanobubble has managed to maintain DO at the optimal range and affected the shrimp growth significantly(P<0.05).

Development of an empowerment model for burnout syndrome and quality of nursing work life in Indonesia

Objectives:This study aimed to develop an empowerment model for burnout syndrome and quality of nursing work life(QNWL).Methods:This study adopted a mixed-method cross-sectional *** variables included structural empowerment,psychological empowerment,burnout syndrome and *** population consisted of nurses who have civil servant status in one of the regional hospitals in *** participants were recruited using multi-stage sampling measures with 134 *** were collected using questionnaires,which were then analysed using partial least squares.A focus group discussion was conducted with nurses,chief nurses and the hospital management to identify strategic issues and compile ***:Structural empowerment influenced psychological empowerment(path coefficient=0.440;t=6.222)and QNWL(path coefficient=0.345;t=4.789).Psychological empowerment influenced burnout syndrome(path coefficient=-0.371;t=4.303),and burnout syndrome influenced QNWL(path coefficient=-0.320;t=5.102).Structural empowerment increased QNWL by 39.7%.Conclusion:The development of a structural empowerment model by using the indicators of resources,support and information directly influenced the psychological empowerment of the sample of *** an indicator of meaning,psychological empowerment decreased burnout *** turn,burnout syndrome,as the indicator of personal achievement,could affect the *** empowerment directly influenced the QNWL,particularly within the workplace *** studies must be conducted to analyse the effects of empowerment,leadership styles and customer satisfaction.

BACKGROUND The four components that make up the current dual-mobility artificial hip joint design are the femoral head,the inner liner,the outer liner as a metal cover to prevent wear,and the acetabular *** acetabular cup and the outer liner were constructed of 316L stainless *** the same time,the inner liner was made of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene(UHMWPE).As this new dual-mobility artificial hip joint has not been researched extensively,more tribological research is needed to predict *** thickness of the inner liner is a significant component to consider when calculating the contact *** To make use of finite element analysis to gain a better understanding of the contact behavior in various inner liner thicknesses on a new model of a dual-mobility artificial hip joint,with the ultimate objective of determining the inner liner thickness that was most suitable for this particular type of dual-mobility artificial hip *** In this study,the size of the femoral head was compared between two diameters(28 mm and 36 mm)and eight inner liner thicknesses ranging from 5 mm to 12 *** the finite element method,the contact parameters,including the maximum contact pressure and contact area,have been evaluated in light of the Hertzian contact *** simulation was performed statically with dissipated energy and asymmetric *** types of interaction were surface-to-surface contact and normal contact *** The maximum contact pressures in the inner liner(UHMWPE)at a head diameter of 28 mm and 36 mm are between 3.7-13.5 MPa and 2.7-10.4 MPa,*** maximum von Mises of the inner liner,outer liner,and acetabular cup are 2.4–11.4 MPa,15.7–44.3 MPa,and 3.7–12.6 MPa,respectively,for 28 mm *** the maximum von Mises stresses of the 36 mm head are 1.9-8.9 MPa for the inner liner,9.9-32.8 MPa for the outer liner,and 2.6-9.9 MPa for the acetabular cup.A head with a diameter of 28 mm should have an inner line
