Homoisoflavonoids are in the subclass of the larger family of flavonoids having one more alkyl carbon than flavonoids. Among them, 8-C-Methylated homoisoflavones have not been extensively studied for synthesis and biological evaluation. Author’s current objective is to synthesize 8-C-Methylated homoisoflavones by the reaction of 3-C-methylated dihydrochalcones with N,N’-dimethyl (chloromethylene) ammonium chloride generated in situ from DMF and PCl5 for one carbon extension at about room temperature. The 3-C-methylated dihydrochalcones were synthesized by the reduction of 3-C-methylated chalcones, which were prepared from 3-C-methylated acetophenones and aromatic aldehydes in the presence of base. All the synthesized novel homoisoflavones’s structures were characterized by NMR and Tandem Mass Spectrometry.

The present paper deals with the study of equilibrium positions of the motion of a system of two artificial satellites connected by a light, flexible, inextensible and non-conducting cable under the influence of solar radiation pressure, earth’s oblateness, shadow of the earth and air resistance. Here, we study the case of circular orbit of the centre of mass of the system. We derive differential equations of motion of the system. General solutions of the differential equations are beyond the reach. On the other hand, the general solutions do not serve our purpose. Jacobian integral of the system has also been obtained. Thereafter equilibrium positions of the motion of the system have been obtained.

Scarcity of water and emission of greenhouse gases(GHGs)are the two key environmental issues affecting crop production in *** the carbon footprint(CF)and water footprint(WF)of crop production can help to mitigate the environmental hazards that stem from GHG emissions and water *** CFs and WFs of three major cereal crops,rice,wheat,and maize,were estimated for the year 2014 under the environmental conditions in India,based on national statistics and other data *** CFs(TCFs)of rice,wheat,and maize in India were estimated to be 2.44,1.27,and 0.80 t CO_(2)equivalent ha-1,respectively,and product WFs for rice,wheat,and maize in India were 3.52,1.59,and 2.06 m3 kg^(-1),*** WF was found to be the highest in West India for rice and in South India for both wheat and maize,with the highest irrigation water use in these *** was a positive correlation between TCF and total WF,and hence mitigation of both was possibly simultaneous in various regions in *** measures for mitigating GHG emissions and optimizing water use for rice,wheat,and maize production in India are recommended in this paper.

Aim:The present in silico study aimed to evaluate the ATP-binding cassette(ABC)transporter inhibition potential of Bulbine frutescens(***)***:Several previous studies and databases were used to retrieve the ligands and target protein *** molecular docking study was performed using the Auto Dock Tools,and the GROMACS package was applied to accomplish molecular dynamics ***:Utilizing the molecular docking and simulation approach,~25 phytochemicals were screened against the ABC transporter *** score analysis revealed that *** phytochemical 4’-Demethylknipholone 2’-β-D-glucopyranoside exhibited strong binding on the ABC transporter protein with a minimum binding score-9.8 kcal/mol in comparison to the standard ABC transporter inhibitor diltiazem(-6.86 kcal/mol).Furthermore,molecular dynamics simulation for 4’-Demethylknipholone 2’-β-D-glucopyranoside showed an acceptable root mean square deviation,radius of gyration,root mean square fluctuation,and hydrogen bond,in addition to other lead ***:The in-silico study demonstrated that *** phytochemical 4’-Demethylknipholone 2’-β-D-glucopyranoside possesses anti-drug resistance properties and requires further testing in preclinical settings.

Tryptophan is one of the nine essential amino acids in humans that can only be obtained through diets and *** is a precursor to many biological processes,such as serotonin,melatonin,kynurenin,and niacin(nicotinamide)vitamin *** content of tryptophan in foods,such as soybean is an important indicator of nutritional ***,accurate quantification of tryptophan in soybean is crucial to soybean nutritional *** of soybean protein-bound amino acids first involves acid hydrolysis of total protein to liberate amino ***,tryptophan quantification following acid hydrolysis is difficult or impossible due to its reactions with soybean ***,removal of carbohydrates from soy proteins prior to acid hydrolysis is *** this study,we compared four common protein precipitation methods(i.e.,methanol,acetonitrile,acetone,and trichloroacetic acid(TCA)protein precipitation methods)to determine the best method to separate soy proteins from carbohydrates,and concluded that acetone provided the highest recovery of soy *** content in the precipitated proteins was determined after acid hydrolysis of the proteins using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry multiple reaction monitoring(LC-MS/MS-MRM).No significant difference in the tryptophan content was found among proteins precipitated with methanol,acetonitrile,and TCA,suggesting that these precipitated proteins have similar compositions.A slightly lower,but statistically significant tryptophan content was found in the acetonitrile-precipitated proteins,suggesting that these proteins contain slightly higher glycosylated proteins.

Hydatid disease(HD)is an accidental human parasitic infestation by cestodes and is most commonly caused by Echinococcus *** happens to be the most common site of involvement,although involvement of other organ symptoms is not *** of the retrovesical pouch by hydatidosis is generally secondary in nature with an incidence of 0.1%-0.5%*** retrovesical hydatid cyst(RVHC)is extremely rare with only few cases in existing *** can present with a wide gamut of symptoms ranging from asymptomatic to obstructive uropathy.A 38-year-old male presented to us with complaints of lower urinary tract symptoms(LUTS)and was found to have an isolated primary retrovesical hydatid cyst on *** RVHC had compressed the right ureter leading to a grossly hydronephrotic non-functional right *** patient was started on albendazole therapy and underwent robot assisted right nephroureterectomy and partial pericystectomy for the *** postoperative period was uneventful with resolution of *** report highlights the various clinical presentations of RVHC as well as the minimal invasive management of this rare entity.

The Bhumisukta Revisited in the Background of Contemporary Environmentalism

In this paper I like to revisit Bhumisukta of the Atharvaveda in the backdrop of present-day environmentalism. It is divided into three parts. In Part 1 I like to give a synoptic view of contemporary environmentalism, as reflected in Arne Naess＇s Deep Ecology. In Part 2 I make an exposition of the Bhumisukta, particularly those verses （mantras） which are directly relevant to our environmental concerns. To say the truth, this Bhumisukta （also called the Pcthivisitkta） epitomizes the Vedic Hindu eco-culture. The Bhumisukta （which literally means, the Hymn or Prayer to the Earth） is the oldest and the most evocative environmental discourse. It is called ＂the first natural anthem＂ in the history of mankind. It constitutes the first anuvgtka of dvgtda~ kgm. da of the Atharvaveda and contains 63 verses （mantras） devoted to glorifying the Earth as sacred and inviolable. Many prayers have been sung for the preservation and conservation of Nature and its gifts of splendor. The Bh^misftkta talks about human dependence on the Nature and respect for the same that follows naturally. It proclaims of the Earth as the mother, and humanity as her children Bhumisukta, putro＇ham pr. thivyah＂ In Part 3 1 like to make a brief but critical observation regarding the loss of continuity of Vedic tradition in view of an objection made by some Western environmentalists. In this concluding part I like to respond to the objection that so called eco-sensitive cultures could not avert environmental pollution and depletion of Nature in countries, like India.

Evaluation of wound healing and antimicrobial potentials of Ixora coccinea root extract

Objective:To evaluate the wound healing and antimicrobial activity of root extracts of Ixora coccinea(***).Methods:To investigate the wound healing efficacy of root extract of *** Linn,five groups of animals were divided each containing six *** wound models including incision and excision wound models were used in this *** parameters studied were tensile strength on incision wound model and in terms of wound contraction for excision wound model were compared with standard Nitrofurazone(NFZ) ointment(0.2%w/w). Six extracts(***,petroleum ether,benzene,chloroform and ethyl acetate ) of I. coccinea were screened for in vitro growth inhibiting activity against different bacterial strains riz. Staphylococcia *** pumilius,Enterococcus *** coli,Salmonella typhi and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and fungi Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger were compared with the standard drugs ciprofloxacin and chloramphenicol for antibacterial and griscofulvin for antifungal *** serial dilution and cup(or) well plate methods were used for the antimicrobial study and MIC was ***:The ethanolic extract showed significant (P<0.001) wound healing activity when compared to standard drug NFZ with respect to normal control *** *** extract showed highly significant antibacterial activity against all bacterial strains used in this study when compared to *** aqueous extract showed moderate significant inhibition against all bacterial strains when compared to standard. All the extracts were shown negligible activity against the fungal strains used in this study. Conclusions:The ethanolic root extract of *** showed pronounced wound healing and antibacterial *** probable reason to heal the wound was that the external application of the extract prevented the microbes to invade through the wound thus the protection of wound occurs against the infection of the various or

Vilsmeier reagent formed from phthaloyl dichloride and DMF was found to be very effective for converting 2-hydroxyacetophenones, deoxybenzoins and dihydrochalcones into corresponding chromones, isoflavones and homoisoflavones with excellent yield. This method offers significant advantages such as efficiency and mild reaction conditions with shorter reaction time.
