Importance: This post-marketing surveillance study was conducted to evaluate real-world information about the efficacy and safety of oral Tinefcon? tablets (Sphaeranthus indicus based) in plaque psoriasis patients. Materials and Methods: Patients aged at least 18 years and older with clinical diagnosis of plaque psoriasis, were enrolled in this open label, non-comparative, multicenter trial. All eligible subjects received four 700 mg Tinefcon? tablets/day for 12 weeks. The primary outcome measure was percent change in Psoriasis Area Severity Index (PASI) score from baseline to week 12. The secondary outcome measures were Physician Global Assessment (PGA), Nail Psoriasis Severity Index (NAPSI), Psoriatic Arthritis Evaluation and Gene Expression Profiling and Immunohistochemistry. Results: After completion of Tinefcon? treatment at 12 weeks, more than half of subjects (52%) achieved PASI 50 response;PASI 75 response was attained in 68 (23%) subjects and PASI 90 response in 22 (7%) subjects. Five subjects with severe psoriasis achieved PASI 90 without receiving any concomitant medication. Reduction in severity as assessed by PGA was observed in more than half of patients with moderate disease. Histopathological evaluation revealed that epidermal thickness was considerably reduced in 66% of subjects. The expression of inflammatory marker S100A9 protein was(meaningfully reduced in 60% patients with non-significant reduction of Keratin 10 protein expression. Gene expression analysis showed increase down regulation of SERPINB4;PI3 and KRT16 genes after a 12-week treatment period in subjects with higher PASI scores. Conclusion: Oral Tinefcon? tablets showed good efficacy and had a favorable safety profile in plaque psoriasis patients.

A novel approach to investigate effect of magnetic field on dynamic properties of natural rubber based isotropic thick magnetorheological elastomers in shear mode

The preparation of natural rubber based isotropic thick magnetorheological elastomers(MRE) was focused on by varying the percentage volume concentration of carbonyl iron powder and developing a test set up to test the dynamic properties. Effect of magnetic field on the damping ratio was studied on the amplification region of the transmissibility curve. The viscoelastic dynamic damping nature of the elastomer was also studied by analyzing the force-displacement hysteresis graphs. The results show that MR effect increases with the increase in magnetic field as well as carbonyl iron powder particle concentration. It is observed that softer matrix material produces more MR effect. A maximum of 125% improvement in the loss factor is observed for the MRE with 25% carbonyl iron volume concentration. FEMM simulation shows that as carbonyl iron particle distribution becomes denser, MR effect is improved. FEMM analysis also reveals that if the distance between the adjacent iron particles are reduced from 20 μm to 10 μm, a 40% increase in stored energy is observed.

Effect of TiO_2 nanoparticles on hydrogen evolution reaction activity of Ni coatings

The electrocatalytic activity of electrodeposited Ni and Ni–TiO2 coatings with regard to the alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction（HER） was investigated. The Ni coatings were electrodeposited from an acid chloride bath at different current densities, and their HER activities were examined in a 1.0-mol·L^-1 KOH medium. The variations in the HER activity of the Ni coatings with changes in surface morphology and composition were examined via the electrochemical dissolution and incorporation of nanoparticles. Electrochemical analysis methods were used to monitor the HER activity of the test electrodes; this activity was confirmed via the quantification of gases that evolved during the analysis. The obtained results demonstrated that the Ni–TiO2 nanocomposite test electrode exhibited maximum activity toward the alkaline HER. The surface appearance, composition, and the phase structure of all developed coatings were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, energy dispersive spectroscopy（EDS）, and X-ray diffraction（XRD）, respectively. The improvement in the electrocatalytic activity of Ni–TiO2 nanocomposite coating toward HER was attributed to the variation in surface morphology and increased number of active sites.

Effect of spheroidization of cementite in ductile cast iron

The research aims to provide an alternative to austempering treatment of ductile cast iron with a simple and cost-effective heat-treatment *** goal was accomplished by applying a simple one-step spheroidization heat treatment to the as-cast ductile iron,which would normally possess a coarse pearlitic microstructure to a significant *** experiments involving isothermal holding below the lower critical temperature(A1)were conducted followed by standard mechanical testing and microstructural characterization for an experimental ductile *** improving the spheroidization holding time at a given temperature,the work shows that the ductility and toughness of an as-cast ductile iron can be improved by 90%and 40%,respectively,at the cost of reducing the tensile strength by 8%.Controlled discretization of the continuous cementite network in pearlitic matrix of the ductile iron is deemed responsible for the improved *** work also shows that prolonged holding time during spheroidization heat treatment leads to degradation of mechanical properties due to the inhomogenous microstructure formation caused by heterogeneous decomposition and cementite clustering in the *** main outcome of this work is the demonstration of ductile cast iron’s necking behavior due to spheroidization heat treatment.

Spin squeezing in Dicke-class of states with non-orthogonal spinors

The celebrated Majorana representation is exploited to investigate spin squeezing in different classes of pure symmetric states of N qubits with two distinct spinors, namely the Dicke-class of states. On obtaining a general expression for spin squeezing parameter, the variation of squeezing for different configurations is studied in detail. It is shown that the states in the Dicke-class, characterized by two-distinct non-orthogonal spinors, exhibit squeezing.

This paper presents an optimized 3-D Discrete Wavelet Transform (3-DDWT) architecture. 1-DDWT employed for the design of 3-DDWT architecture uses reduced lifting scheme approach. Further the architecture is optimized by applying block enabling technique, scaling, and rounding of the filter coefficients. The proposed architecture uses biorthogonal (9/7) wavelet filter. The architecture is modeled using Verilog HDL, simulated using ModelSim, synthesized using Xilinx ISE and finally implemented on Virtex-5 FPGA. The proposed 3-DDWT architecture has slice register utilization of 5%, operating frequency of 396 MHz and a power consumption of 0.45 W.

A review of patent literature on the regulation of glucose metabolism by six phytocompounds in the management of diabetes mellitus and its complications

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease,typified by hyperglycemia resulting from failures in complex multifactorial metabolic functions,that requires life-long *** uncontrolled hyperglycemia leads to micro-and macro-vascular *** antidiabetic drugs are prescribed as the first-line treatment,many of them lose efficacy over time or have severe side *** is a lack of in-depth study on the patents filed concerning the use of natural compounds to manage ***,this patent analysis provides a comprehensive report on the antidiabetic therapeutic activity of 6 phytocompounds when taken alone or in *** patent databases were searched,and 17,649 patents filed between 2001 and 2021 were retrieved.0f these,139 patents for antidiabetic therapeutic aids that included berberine,curcumin,gingerol,gymnemic acid,gymnemagenin and mangiferin were *** results showed that these compounds alone or in combinations,targeting acetylcoenzyme A carboxylase 2,serine/threonine protein kinase,α-amylase,α-glucosidase,lipooxygenase,phosphorylase,peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ(PPAR-γ),protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B,PPARγco-activator-1α,phosphoinositide 3-kinase and protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 3C,could regulate glucose metabolism which are validated by pharmacological ***,or combination therapy,including different phytocompounds and plant extracts,has been studied extensively and found effective,whereas the efficacy of commercial drugs in combination with phytocompounds has not been studied in ***,gymnemic acid and mangiferin were found to be effective against diabetes-related complications.
