Earliest megafossils of scandent calamoid palms from the Deccan Intertrappean Beds of Central India and their paleobiogeographic implications

Two well-preserved petrified palm stems from the latest Maastrichtian(Late Cretaceous) to earliest Danian(Early Paleocene) sediments of the Deccan Intertrappean Beds of Madhya Pradesh, Central India are described. Their significant anatomical characteristics include a Calamus-type general stem pattern,the presence of well-preserved fibrovascular bundles(fvbs) with two wide metaxylem vessel elements(230 μm-250 μm) and one phloem strand, uniform density of fvbs, lack of continuity between protoxylem and metaxylem vessel elements, and an absence of centrifugal differentiation of sclerenchymatous fibrous *** features reveal a close resemblance to those of extant genera of scandent Calamoideae. The permineralized stems are described as a new species namely, Palmoxylon calamoides Kumar, Roy et Khan sp. *** fossils represent the oldest reliable fossil records of this family, supporting their Gondwanan origin, their importance in tracing their migration pathways from India to Europe and other continents after the docking of the Indian subcontinent with Eurasia during the Paleocene, and an “Out-of-India” dispersal hypothesis. Today the subfamily Calamoideae is disjunctly occurred in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and South America, but the poor deep-time fossil record of this subfamily with a small number of Cenozoic fossils makes hypotheses concerning its origin and dispersal difficult to evaluate. The present study has significant implications for the origin and migration of this subfamily and the paleoclimate.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers immediate insights to penetrate the overwhelming volume of everyday security warnings. The current body of research mostly examines the use of AI in the field of cyber security, but it does not adequately address the visual inspection of AI applications. The advent of AI has led to noticeable structural changes in the field of cyber security. This study facilitates the advancement of theory about artificial intelligence (AI) across several fields. It assists researchers in determining research paths and serves as a resource for corporations and governments to strategize the use of AI in areas such as cyber security, education, healthcare, and work-life balance. Numerous nations, organizations, and writers are intricately linked via cooperation and citation networks. Artificial intelligence is an academic discipline focused on the research and advancement of computer systems, robots, and other creations that possess human-like intelligence, which is defined by cognitive powers, learning capabilities, and adaptability. This research aimed to evaluate the present trajectory and influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on education, healthcare, cybersecurity, and work-life balance. Based on an initial examination, this research focused on evaluating the use and impact of AI in many domains, using a specific narrative and framework. The findings of this study will enable researchers to comprehend the prevailing pattern and the influence of people on the integration of AI into daily life.

With the beginning of the information systems’ spreading, people started thinking about using them for making business decisions. Computer technology solutions, such as the Decision Support System, make the decision-making process less complex and simpler for problem-solving. In order to make a high-quality business decision, managers need to have a great deal of appropriate information. Nonetheless, this complicates the process of making appropriate decisions. In a situation like that, the possibility of using DSS is quite logical. The aim of this paper is to find out the intended use of DSS for medium and large business organizations in USA by applying the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Different models were developed in order to understand and predict the use of information systems, but the information systems community mostly used TAM to ensure this issue. The purpose of the research model is to determine the elements of analysis that contribute to these results. The sample for the research consisted of the target group that was supposed to have completed an online questionnaire about the manager’s use of DSS in medium and large American companies. The information obtained from the questionnaires was analyzed through the SPSS statistical software. The research has indicated that, this is primarily used due to a significant level of Perceived usefulness and For the Perceived ease of use.

Changes in organic structure and mineral phases transformation of coal during heat treatment on laboratory scale

Structural changes due to coalification and oxidation influence the coal quality, geochemically and petrologically. Understanding of the coal structures helps to predict the behaviour of coal at various processes. The objective of this paper is to study the changes in organic structure and mineral phase transformation during combustion. Different density fractions were generated and then heated at different temperatures from 200 to 1000 ℃. Petrography, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR） and X-ray diffraction （XRD） were carried out on all the density fractions aimed to accomplish this objective. Here, through petrography, it was observed that the vitrinite and liptinite macerals disappear at higher temperature while porous inertinite is seen. The inertinite structure is exposed which is assumed by the presence of -OH and C-O-C stretches with the aromatic nucleus （CH） and three to four adjacent H from FTIR spectra. Moreover, it can be concluded that aliphatic groups get collapsed at high temperature. In case of inorganic matter, through XRD and FTIR, it is also revealed that with increasing temperature, clay minerals converted into elemental oxides. Hence, this study is suggesting that the structures of coal are altered by the degree of contact metamorphism.

Physico-chemical and elemental investigation of aqueous leaching of high sulfur coal and mine overburden from Ledo coalfield of Northeast India

Acid mine drainage （AMD） is one of the major problems in high sulfur coal mining areas generating acidic water. The acidic mine water generated contain hazardous elements in varying concentrations. The Northeastern Indian coalfield produces considerable amounts of AMD. The AMD and metal leaching from coal and mine over burden （OB） are the two important naturally occurring processes. In order to know the AMD potential, the aqueous leaching experiment of a few coal and OB samples from the Ledo colliery of the Northeastern coalfield, Mergherita （India）, at different time periods （1, 3, 5, and 8 h） and at different temperatures （25, 45, 65, and 90℃） were performed in the laboratory. The physico- chemical analysis of the aqueous leachates shows the pH, electrical conductivity （EC）, and total dissolved solid （TDS） in the range of 1.62-3.52, 106-2006 μs/cm, and 106-1003 ppm for the raw coal samples respectively. The OB samples produced pH, EC, and TDS in the range of 3.68-6.92, 48.6-480 μs/cm, and 69.5-240 ppm respectively. From the study, it was revealed that the concentrations of major （Si, A1, K, Na, Fe, Ca, Mg）, minor （Mn） and trace/hazardous elements （As, Ba, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, Se, Zn） considerably change with leaching time as well as with leaching temperature. Out of these elements As, Cd, Hg, Pb, Cr, and Se are of greater environmental importance. Alteration of the physico-chemical structure of the coal and OB samples resulting from leaching was also studied by field emission scanning electron microscope- energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy method. The release of the potentially hazardous elements from the raw coal and OB during leaching time periods to the leachates was detected by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy and ion-chromatographic analyses. Ten palm leaf impressions are documented from the latest Maastrichtian(late Cretaceous) to early Danian(earliest Paleocene) sediments(K-Pg,c.66-64 Ma) of the Mandla Lobe of the Deccan Intertrappean Beds,Madhya Pradesh,central *** palmate leaf shape along with a definite wellpreserved costa support their placement in the subfamily Coryphoideae of the family *** place all recovered palm leaf specimens in the fossil genus Sabalites,report seven species of coryphoid palms and describe two new species namely,Sabalities umariaensis *** Sabalites ghughuaensis *** fossils indicate that coryphoid palms were highly diverse in central India by the latest *** and earlier reported coryphoid palm fossils from the same locality indicate that they experienced a warm and humid tropical environment during the time of *** discoveries confirm the presence of a diversity of Coryphoideae in Gondwana prior to the India-Eurasia collision and provide information about coryphoid biogeographical history over geological *** on megafossil remains,we trace coryphoid palm migration pathways from India to mainland Southeast(SE) Asia and other parts of Asia after the docking of the Indian subcontinent with Eurasia early in the Paleogene.

Predictors of poor outcomes in children with tracheoesophageal fistula/oesophageal atresia:an Australian experience

Objective The aim of this study is to characterize long-term morbidities of oesophageal atresia(OA)with or without tracheoesophageal fistula(TOF).Methods Infants born with OA/TOF from 2000 to 2016 in Western Australia were included for *** were categorized into high-risk and low-risk groups based on the presence of one or more perioperative risk factors[low birth weight,vertebraldefects,anal atresia,cardiac defects,TOF,renalanomalies,limb abnormalities(VACTERL),anastomotic leak,long gap OA,and failure to establish oral feeds within the first month]identified by a previous Canadian *** of morbidities in infants with perioperative risk factors was *** Of 102 patients,88(86%)had OA with distal TOF(type C).The most common morbidities in our cohort were anastomotic oesophageal strictures(AS)(n=53,52%),tracheomalacia(n=48,47%),gastroesophageal reflux disease(GORD)(n=42,41%)and recurrent respiratory tract infections(n=40,39%).Presence of GORD(30/59 vs 12/43,p=0.04)and median frequency of AS dilatations(8 vs 3,n=59,p=0.03)were greater in the high-risk *** study further confirmed that inability to be fed orally within the first month was associated with high *** Gastrointestinal and respiratory morbidities remain high in OA/TOF regardless of perioperative risk *** to be fed orally within the first month is a predictor of poor outcomes with high frequency of gastrointestinal and respiratory comorbidities.

Preparation and Characterization of La2O3Doped Ba0.3Sr0.7TiO3Perovskite Ceramics of Varied Sintering Temperature and Doping

In order to explore new application opportunities of Barium Strontium Titanate (BST) ceramic composite by modifying the conventional ferroelectric properties of BST through La2O3 doping in BST matrix sintered at different temperature was investigated in this current study. Unadulterated Ba0.3Sr0.7TiO3 (BST) matrix was prepared from BaTiO3 (99.95%) and SrTiO3 (99.95%) taken in stoichiometric extents which later doped by La2O3 (99.99%) in varying extents (0.05 g, 0.10 g and 0.15 g) exploiting solid state reaction route. Doping caused drag effect for the penetration of impurities and sintering temperature helped the impurities migration to BST. Dielectric constant gets lower with rising of frequency, as electrons do not get enough time to polarize at high frequency. Dielectric constant and conductance are found maximum for the sample (0.1 g La2O3 doped BST) sintered at 1460°C and reverse is found in impedance analysis. These electrical properties showed visible frequency dependent response irrespective of sintering temperature and doping.

Identification, occurrence, and validation of DRE and ABRE Cis-regulatory motifs in the promoter regions of genes of Arabidopsis thaliana

Plants posses a complex co-regulatory network which helps them to elicit a response under diverse adverse conditions. We used an in silico approach to identify the genes with both DRE and ABRE motifs in their promoter regions in Arabidopsis thaliana. Our results showed that Arabidopsis contains a set of 2,052 genes with ABRE and DRE motifs in their promoter regions. Approximately 72~o or more of the total predicted 2,052 genes had a gap distance of less than 40o bp between DRE and ABRE motifs. For positional orientation of the DRE and ABRE motifs, we found that the DR form （one in direct and the other one in reverse orientation） was more prevalent than other forms. These predicted 2,o52 genes include 155 transcription factors. Using microarray data from The Arabidopsis Information Resource （TAIR） database, we present 44 transcription factors out of 155 which are upregulated by more than twofold in response to osmotic stress and ABA treatment. Fifty-one transcripts from the one predicted above were validated using semiquantitative expression analysis to support the microarray data in TAIR. Taken together, we report a set of genes containing both DRE and ABRE motifs in their promoter regions in A. thaliana, which can be useful to understand the role of ABA under osmotic stress condition.

中印两国文明源远流长,汉语、孟加拉语也是世界上使用人数最多的几种语言之一。成语形式多样,内涵丰富,掌握好其用法及意义,对于了解一个国家的语言和文化都大有益处。其中,人体成语覆盖面大,使用频率较高,且贴近生活,运用广泛,具有极高的研究价值。无论是在汉语中还是孟加拉语中,人体成语的意义都并非简单字义的堆积或拼凑,其内涵和外延蕴含着两国独特的文化和语言信息,值得我们深入比较和探索。本文首先梳理了汉语、孟加拉语两种语言比较研究的研究现状,并针对现有研究中的问题及不足提出两国成语对比研究的重要意义,突出表现本研究的必要性和参考价值。论文正文共分为五个章节,第一章从汉语、孟加拉语人体成语的概念界定谈起,对所要分析的成语进行梳理和分类;第二章到第四章分别讨论两国人体成语来源的差异、语言文化的差异(包含语言结构和语义上的差异)、文化特性上的差异(包含使用特征的差异和文化内涵上的差异);第五章则总括性地概括了这些差异形成的原因,以及这些差异带来的启示。最后,结语部分总结了研究结论,进一步论证了本研究的目的和意义,同时也指出了本论文研究的不足及未来努力的方向。本文包含了大量成语语料,除个别网络用语、广告用语外,均来自北京语言大学及北京大学在线语料库,在最大程度上保证了语料的准确性和权威性。总的来说,本文通过以人体成语为主要分析对象和突破口,对比研究汉语和孟加拉语中相应的语言文化现象,探寻其中蕴含的深层文化内涵及相关衍生意义,希望能够在一定程度上丰富该领域的研究成果,帮助第二语言学习者更加准确、高效地进行交流与合作。
