Dear editor,Family physicians often serve as the primary resource for parents seeking medical treatment for their children,and it is not uncommon for children with medical emergencies to be brought into primary care offices instead of local emergency departments(EDs).Although estimated incidence rates of pediatric emergencies in primary care offices vary based on the definition used,the number of patients seen,and clinic location,[1-3]any healthcare provider who sees pediatric patients should be ready for immediate medical intervention to minimize adverse outcomes.[4,5]Various studies in the USA have shown that outpatient offices are not adequately prepared for pediatric emergencies,whether that is defined as stocking recommended equipment,having policies for the transport of patients to EDs,engaging in mock codes,or being certified in Advanced Pediatric life Support(APlS)or Basic life Support(BlS).[1-3]This deficit in preparedness exists despite the presence of multiple nation-and state-wide guidelines on the subject,including a policy by the American Academy of Pediatrics.[3]limited information exists on the preparedness of primary care physicians for pediatric emergencies in other nations.

316l SS alloy was tested under different applied potentials to study the susceptibility of this alloy to crevice corrosion. XPS measurements have been carried out to detect and define the products which formed on the surface of 316l SS in 3.5% NaCl at room temperature at applied potential = 200 mVSCE. The formation of Fe, Cr and mo compounds were found, and these compounds play a great role in protecting the alloy which was found. The boundaries of the corroded area under washer teeth are in agreement with IR drop. The potentiodynamic technique is also studied to examine the overall corrosion behavior of 316l SS.

The wide-spreading SARS-CoV-2 virus has put the world into boiling water for more than a year,however pharmacological therapies to act effectively against coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)remain ***(CQ),an antimalarial drug,was found to exhibit promising antiviral activity in vitro and in vivo at a high dosage,thus CQ was approved by the FDA for the emergency use authorization(EUA)in the fight against COVID-19 in the US,but later was revoked the EUA status due to the severe clinical ***,we show that supramolecular formulation of CQ by a macrocyclic host,curcurbit[7]uril(CB[7]),reduced its non-specific toxicity and improved its antiviral activity against coronavirus,working in synergy with CB[7].CB[7]was found to form 1:1 host-guest complexes with CQ,with a binding constant of$104 l/*** CQ-CB[7]formulation decreased the cytotoxicity of CQ against Vero E6 and l-02 cell *** particular,the cytotoxicity of CQ(60 mmol/l)against both Vero E6 cell line and l-02 cell lines was completely inhibited in the presence of 300 mmol/l and 600 mmol/l CB[7],***,the CB[7]alone showed astonishing antiviral activity in SARS-CoV-2 infected Vero E6 cells and mouse hepatitis virus strain A59(mHV-A59)infected N2 A cells,and synergistically improved the antiviral activity of CQ-CB[7],suggesting that CB[7]-based CQ formulation has a great potential as a safe and effective antiviral agent against SARS-CoV-2 and other coronavirus.

Objectives:*** examine the characteristics of patients with erectile dysfunction in a family physician led erectile dysfunction clinic;*** review association of chronic disease spectrum and erectile dysfunction;*** review initial treatment pattern and ***:Retrospective case series ***:All consecutive patients seen in a regional hospital family physician led erectile dysfunction clinic from April 2014 to march *** outcome measures:*** severity of erectile dysfunction,based on International Index of Erectile Function(IIEF-5).*** associated chronic comorbidities of *** patterns and patient ***:One hundred and eighty three patients presented with erectile dysfunction(ED)with mean age 58.7(range 23 to 82)years old were seen during the study *** hundred and twenty seven patients(69.4%)had comorbidity of chronic diseases,including 50.8%had hypertension,38.8%had diabetes mellitus and 33.9%had *** mean body mass index was 25.2 kg/m2,the mean blood pressure was 137.3/79.5 mm Hg(1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa).According to IIEF-5 score,50.3%,30.6%and 18.6%had severe,moderate and mild erectile dysfunction *** average duration of ED before seeking medical help was 3.9 *** 5(PDE5)inhibitors were prescribed to 119 patients(65%),and 57.1%of them achieved good *** nine patients(15.8%)were referred to other specialty for further management,including 27.6%had contraindication for PDE5 ***:High proportion of erectile dysfunction patients had comorbitiy of chronic dis-eases.57.1%of those patients receiving PDE5 inhibitors showed good response.

Background: Nurses are very important frontline health care professionals as they spend more time with patients than other professionals. This is even more so at this critical time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The nursing profession is facing great challenges in coping with the pandemic as they are more vulnerable to exposure and infection with the disease. Kuwait is not spared from the global pandemic which has put the health sector under immense pressure. Because COVID-19 is highly transmissible and deadly, it poses a huge health risk to nurses and has a huge impact on their cognitive, emotional, behavioural and physical dimensions. Aim: The study aims to explore the positive and negative emotions and feelings of staff nurses while giving care to COVID-19 patients. materials and methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out. 300 nurses from different general hospitals, field hospitals, and quarantine facilities in Kuwait participated in the study. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. Results: The findings show that for the cognitive evaluation, 72% were moderately affected, for the emotional evaluation 51.3% and 44% were moderately and mildly affected respectively, for the behavioural evaluation, 66.7% were severely affected, and for the physical evaluation, 43.3% and 31.7% were moderately and severely affected respectively. Prolonged working hours has a highly significant negative correlation to emotional (m>rm> −0.165), behavioral (m>rm> −0.177) and physical (m>rm> −0.155) dimension of the nurses at 0.01 level using Spearman’s correlation. Conclusion: The study concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the psychophysical dimensions of staff nurses.

Introduction: Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is the most common soft tissue tumor in children, with the head and neck location accounting for up to 40% of cases. The embryonal and alveolar histologic variants are more commonly seen in pediatric patients. The treatment is multimodal and the prognosis of this clinical entity is always gloomy. We report the case of nasopharyngeal rhabdomyosarcoma in a 7-year-old boy child with a good response to early post-therapy. Case Presentation: The patient was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal RMS revealed by a congested nose, ptosis and bilateral blindness, and who received induction chemotherapy followed by concurrent radiotherapy followed by adjuvant chemotherapy.
