Some systems,in spite of having multiple outputs,have only one control input,which makes their control a *** novel controllers are proposed that utilise an adaptive finite-time sliding mode control(AFSMC)scheme for a class of single-input multiple-output(SIMO)nonlinear systems in the presence of unknown mismatched *** alleviate the inherent chattering phenomenon of sliding mode control,new forms of the two designed controllers are suggested by using new sliding *** only can the proposed AFSMC scheme stabilise the system in a finite time,but also it can provide estimated data of the uncertainty upper bound in the *** stability theory is used to obtain finite-time stability analysis of the closed-loop ***,simulation results are carried out in Simulink/MATLAB for a four-dimensional autonomous hyper-chaotic system with mismatched uncertainties as an example of SIMO uncertain nonlinear systems to reveal the effectiveness of the proposed controllers.

The fast growing demands and increasing awareness for the environment, PV systems are being rapidly installed for numerous ***, one of the important challenges in utilizing a PV source is the maximum power harnessing using various maximum power point tracking techniques available. With the large number of MPPT techniques, each having some merits and demerits, confusion is always there for their proper selection. Discussion on various proposed procedures for maximum power point tracking of photovoltaic array has been done. Based on different parameters analysis of MPPT techniques is carried out. This assessment will serve as a suitable reference for selection, understanding different ways and means of MPPT.

This study examines the statistical properties required to model the dynamics of both the returns and volatility series of the daily stock market returns in six Gulf Cooperation Council countries,namely Bahrain,Oman,Kuwait,Qatar,Saudi Arabia,and the United Arab Emirates,under different financial and economic *** empiri-cal investigation is conducted using daily data from June 1,2005 to July 1,*** analysis is conducted using a set of double long-memory specifications with some significant features such as long-range dependencies,asymmetries in conditional variances,non-linearity,and multiple seasonality or time-varying *** study indicates that the joint dual long-memory process can adequately estimate long-memory dynamics in returns and *** in-sample diagnostic tests as well as out-of-sample forecasting results demonstrate the prevalence of the Autoregressive Fractionally Integrated Moving Average and Hyperbolic Asymmetric Power Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity modeling process over other competing models in fitting the first and the second conditional moments of the market ***,the empirical results show that the proposed model offers an interesting framework to describe the long-range dependence in returns and seasonal persistence to shocks in conditional volatility and strongly support the estimation of dynamic returns that allow for time-varying correlations.A noteworthy finding is that the long-memory dependencies in the conditional variance processes of stock market returns appear important,asymmetric,and differ in their volatility responses to unexpected *** evidence suggests that these markets are not completely efficient in processing regional news,thus providing a sound alternative for regional portfolio diversification.

Objective: To investigate the antibacterial effect of selected lactic acid bacteria(LAB)biofilms on the planktonic and biofilm population of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)(S547).Methods: In this study, biofilm-forming LAB were isolated from tairu and kefir. Isolate Y1 and isolate KF were selected based on their prominent inhibition against test pathogens(using spot-on-agar method and agar-well-diffusion assay) and efficient biofilm production(using tissue culture plate method). They were then identified as Lactobacillus casei(L. casei) Y1 and Lactobacillus plantarum(L. plantarum) KF, respectively using16 S r DNA gene sequencing. The influence of incubation time, temperature and aeration on the biofilm production of L. casei Y1 and L. plantarum KF was also investigated using tissue culture plate method. The inhibitory activity of both the selected LAB biofilms was evaluated against MRSA(Institute for Medical Research code: S547) using L. plantarum ATCC 8014 as the reference ***: L. casei Y1 showed the highest reduction of MRSA biofilms, by 3.53 log at48 h while L. plantarum KF records the highest reduction of 2.64 log at 36 h. In inhibiting planktonic population of MRSA(S547), both L. casei Y1 and L. plantarum KF biofilms recorded their maximum reduction of 4.13 log and 3.41 log at 24 h, respectively. Despite their inhibitory effects being time-dependent, both LAB biofilms exhibited good potential in controlling the biofilm and planktonic population of MRSA(S547).Conclusions: The results from this study could highlight the importance of analysing biofilms of LAB to enhance their antibacterial efficacy. Preferably, these protective biofilms of LAB could also be a better alternative to control the formation of biofilms by pathogens such as MRSA.

Monitoring water quality in an aquatic system is a crucial objective in pursuing sustainable development,despite the challenges posed by water scarcity and the impact of climate *** objective of the present study was to examine the water quality of the Tigris River along its course from the point of entry into Baghdad city to its exit,particularly in the presence of Phthalic Acid Esters(PAEs).In both dry and wet seasons and from five sites of the river,nine environmental factors(Turbidity,Total dissolved solids,pH,dissolved oxygen,Chloride,nitrate,phosphate,sulfate,and Biological oxygen demand)and three PAEs(di-n-butyl phthalate(DBP),di-isononyl phthalate(DiNP),and di-2-ethyl hexyl phthalate(DEHP))were *** revealed that the river has high levels of turbidity and Total dissolved solids,slightly alkaline,and well-aerated(dissolved oxygen>7 mg/L).Chloride,nitrate,phosphate,and sulfate values varied between seasons,as high values were recorded in the wet *** oxygen demand levels were higher during the dry *** highest value of total PAEs(2.20μg/L)was observed during the dry season,and the lowest value was in the wet season(1.16μg/L).The HQ results revealed that the river was ranked as a moderate risk *** the water quality index and environmental risk index classified the water quality as a poor category,with a high-risk score in the study sites within Baghdad ***,despite the acceptable limit of PAEs in the river's water(<3μg/L),its presence is an early alarm to withdraw attention to its environmental *** findings highlight the need for appropriate measures to control and remove pollutants to ensure a safe and healthy water supply in the Tigris River.
