Background:Chukrasia velutina is an enthnomedicinally used plant reported to have significant medicinal *** present study aimed to explore the pharmacological activities of bark methanol extract using in vitro,in vivo and in silico ***:The study was designed to investigate the pharmacological effects of methanol extract of Chukrasia velutina bark(MECVB)through in vitro,in vivo and in silico *** activity was tested using formalin-i nduced nociception and acetic acid-i nduced writhing assays while the antipyretic effect was tested using yeast-i nduced hyperthermia in mice *** antioxidant effect was tested using the DPPH and reducing power assay and the cytotoxic screening was tested using the brine shrimp lethality *** addition,in silico studies were conducted using computer aided ***:In the acetic acid-i nduced writhing assay,the extract showed 28.36%and 56.16%inhibition of writhing for doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg,***,a dose-dependent formalin-i nduced licking response was observed in both early and late *** yeast-i nduced pyrexia,the MECVB exhibited(p<0.05)antipyretic *** extract demonstrated an ICvalue of 78.86μg/ml compared with ascorbic acid(IC23.53μg/ml)in the DPPH scavenging *** compounds sitosterol,5,7-dimethoxycoumarin and scopoletin were seen be effective in molecular docking scores against COX-I(2OYE),COX-II(6COX)and human peroxiredoxin 5(1HD2).In ADME/T analysis,5,7-dimethoxycoumarin and scopoletin satisfied Lipinski’s rule of five and thus are potential drug ***:The bark of Chukrasia velutina showed significant analgesic and antipyretic properties and is a potential source of natural anti-oxidative agents.

Post-acute care(PAC)residents in nursing homes(NHs)are recently hospitalized patients with medically complex diagnoses,ranging from severe orthopedic injuries to cardiovascular diseases.A major role of NHs is to maximize restoration of PAC residents during their NH stays with desirable discharge outcomes,such as higher community discharge likelihood and lower re/hospitalization *** prediction of the PAC residents’length-of-stay(LOS)with multiple discharge dispositions(e.g.,community discharge and re/hospitalization)will allow NH management groups to stratify NH residents based on their individualized risk in realizing personalized and resident-centered NH care *** to the highly heterogeneous health conditions of PAC residents and their multiple types of correlated discharge dispositions,developing an accurate prediction model becomes *** predictive analytics methods,such as distribution-/regression-based methods and machine learning methods,either fail to incorporate varied individual characteristics comprehensively or ignore multiple discharge *** this work,a data-driven predictive analytics approach is considered to jointly predict the individualized re/hospitalization risk and community discharge likelihood over time in the presence of varied residents’characteristics.A sampling algorithm is further developed to generate accurate predictive samples for a heterogeneous population of PAC residents in an NH and facilitate facility-level performance evaluation.A real case study using large-scale NH data is provided to demonstrate the superior prediction performance of the proposed work at individual and facility levels through comprehensive comparison with a large number of existing prediction methods as *** developed analytics tools will allow NH management groups to identify the most at-risk residents by providing them with more proactive and focused care to improve resident outcomes.

With the shocking present vehicle growth over 10%, many vehicles are found to operate within urban areas and national highways of Bangladesh without having necessary registration and fitness papers. Uncontrolled vehicle modification practice has become a serious concern particularly for large vehicles, which leads the vehicle owners not to properly adhere to the vehicle fitness rules. The primary objective of this research is to reveal the extent of vehicle modification of different categories of vehicle. In this regard, field survey is conducted in major bus terminals and truck depots of Dhaka city to find out the issues related to rampant vehicle modification. Later statistical analysis is performed to obtain the most observed vehicle dimensions followed by local body workers. Finally, detailed questionnaire survey is performed on vehicle owners as well as the body makers as an attempt to reveal the poor quality of work performed by unskilled local workers. This paper would describe the findings of this research work along with appropriate remedial measures to control the unsafe modification of vehicles.

Curcumin reverses T cell-mediated adaptive immune dysfunctions in tumor-bearing hosts

Immune dysfunction is well documented during tumor progression and likely contributes to tumor immune ***81 cytotoxic T lymphocytes(CTLs)are involved in antigen-specific tumor destruction and CD41 T cells are essential for helping this CD81 T cell-dependent tumor *** often target and inhibit T-cell function to escape from immune *** dysfunction includes loss of effector and memory T cells,bias towards type 2 cytokines and expansion of T regulatory(Treg)*** has previously been shown to have antitumor activity and some research has addressed the immunoprotective potential of this plant-derived polyphenol in tumor-bearing *** we examined the role of curcumin in the prevention of tumor-induced dysfunction of T cell-based immune *** observed severe loss of both effector and memory T-cell populations,downregulation of type 1 and upregulation of type 2 immune responses and decreased proliferation of effector T cells in the presence of ***,in turn,prevented this loss of T cells,expanded central memory T cell(TCM)/effector memory T cell(TEM)populations,reversed the type 2 immune bias and attenuated the tumor-induced inhibition of T-cell proliferation in tumor-bearing *** investigation revealed that tumor burden upregulated Treg cell populations and stimulated the production of the immunosuppressive cytokines transforming growth factor(TGF)-b and IL-10 in these ***,however,inhibited the suppressive activity of Treg cells by downregulating the production of TGF-b and IL-10 in these *** importantly,curcumin treatment enhanced the ability of effector T cells to kill cancer ***,our observations suggest that the unique properties of curcumin may be exploited for successful attenuation of tumor-induced suppression of cell-mediated immune responses.

Reproducible wafer-scale growth of two-dimensional(2D)materials using the Chemical Vapor Deposition(CVD)process with precise control over their properties is challenging due to a lack of understanding of the growth mechanisms spanning over several length scales and sensitivity of the synthesis to subtle changes in growth conditions.A multiscale computational framework coupling Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD),Phase-Field(PF),and reactive Molecular Dynamics(MD)was developed–called the CPM model–and experimentally *** between theoretical predictions and thorough experimental measurements for a Metal-Organic CVD(MOCVD)-grown WSe_(2)model material revealed the full power of this computational ***-area uniform 2D materials are synthesized via MOCVD,guided by computational *** developed computational framework provides the foundation for guiding the synthesis of wafer-scale 2D materials with precise control over the coverage,morphology,and properties,a critical capability for fabricating electronic,optoelectronic,and quantum computing devices.
