Objective To investigate whether Naoxueshu Oral Liquid(NXS)could promote hematoma absorption in post-craniotomy hematoma(PCH)*** This is an open-label,multicenter,and randomized controlled trial conducted at 9 hospitals in *** aged 18–80 years with post-craniotomy supratentorial hematoma volume ranging from 10 to 30 mL or post-craniotomy infratentorial hematoma volume less than 10 mL,or intraventricular hemorrhage following cranial surgery were *** were randomly assigned at a 1:1 ratio to the NXS(10 mL thrice daily for 15 days)or control groups using a randomization code *** medical care was administered in both *** primary outcome was the percentage reduction in hematoma volume from day 1 to day *** secondary outcomes included the percentage reduction in hematoma volume from day 1 to day 7,the absolute reduction in hematoma volume from day 1 to day 7 and 15,and the change in neurological function from day 1 to day 7 and *** safety was closely monitored throughout the ***,subgroup analysis was performed based on age,gender,history of diabetes,and etiology of intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH).Results A total of 120 patients were enrolled and randomly assigned between March 30,2018 and April 15,*** patient was lost to follow-up in the control ***,there were 119 patients(60 in the NXS group and 59 in the control group)included in the *** the full analysis set(FAS)analysis,the NXS group had a greater percentage reduction in hematoma volume from day 1 to day 15 than the control group[median(Q1,Q3):85%(71%,97%)vs.76%(53%,93%),P0.05).Furthermore,no adverse events were reported during the *** the FAS analysis,the NXS group exhibited a higher percentage reduction in hematoma volume on day 15 in the following subgroups:male patients,patients younger than 65 yea

A novel model of the carbon cycle in the Cambrian ocean

The classic model of the carbon cycle suggests that the extensive burial of ^(12)C-enriched organic carbon leads to a positive carbon isotope(δ^(13)C)excursion(CIE),while massive oxidation of organic carbon results in a negative ***,global events such as the BAsal Cambrian Carbon isotope Excursion(BACE)and the Steptoean Positive Carbon Isotope Excursion(SPICE)are global negative and positive δ^(13)C excursions,respectively,and they also exhibit significant organic carbon burial anomalies,displaying decoupling between carbon isotope anomalies and organic carbon *** on the analyses of the Cambrian carbon cycle and paleoceanographic evolution records from well Tadong2 in the Tarim Basin,we propose a novel model of the carbon cycle in the Cambrian ocean that incorporates oceanic dissolved organic carbon(DOC).Our findings are as follows.(1)The Cambrian ocean maintained substantial DOC reservoirs,which were regulated by ocean currents and paleo-redox conditions and exerted significant influence on the oceanic carbon cycle.(2)The oxidation of the oceanic DOC reservoirs during the early Cambrian led to the BACE and the Asian Phenomenon of the Cambrian petroleum systems,while the expansion of the oceanic DOC reservoirs during the SPICE resulted in a global positive δ^(13)C excursion and the absence of significant organic carbon burial.(3)The deep-basin sedimentary environment in the eastern depression of the Tarim Basin may have fostered the development of organic-rich black shales during the Furongian Series,corresponding to organic carbon burial during the SPICE and representing potential prospects for ultra-deep oil and gas *** research should focus on the formation mechanism,reserve scale,and influencing factors of the oceanic DOC reservoirs,as well as their resource and environmental *** is expected that new breakthroughs will be made in the fields of Earth system science and oil and gas exploration.

Long-term efficacy of excimer laser in situ keratomileusis in the management of children with high anisometropic amblyopia

Background Children with anisometropic amblyopia are often noncompliant with traditional treatment including spectacules and contact lenses. This study was to evaluate the long-term efficacy of excimer laser in situ keratomileusis （LASIK） for children with high anisometropic amblyopia. Methods A retrospective analysis of 24 children with high unilateral anisometropic amblyopia, who underwent LASIK during the period between August 2000 and September 2005 in our hospital, was conducted. The mean age of these children was （7.4±1.9） years （range 5-14 years） and the mean follow-up period was （33.3±14.2） months （range 18.5-74.2 months）. After LASIK, visual acuity, refraction and far or near stereoacuity were analyzed. Near stereoacuity was measured by the random-dot butterfly stereogram and the pre-school random-dot stereogram, while far stereoacuity was measured by the synoptophore with Yan＇s random-dot stereogram. Results Mean preoperative uncorrected visual acuity was 0.06±0.05, while mean postoperative uncorrected visual acuity was elevated to 0.43±0.33. Mean preoperative best-corrected visual acuity was 0.26±0.22, while mean postoperative best-corrected visual acuity was elevated to 0.67±0.40. For patients with myopic anisometropia, preoperative mean spherical equivalent refraction was （-8.01±2.70） D while postoperative value significantly reduced to （-1.32±2.47） D. For patients with hyperopic anisometropia, preoperative mean spherical equivalent refraction was （ 7.35±1.55） D while postoperative value significantly reduced to （3.30±0.86） D. These results demonstrated that there was statistical difference in these parameters between preoperative and postoperative tests. At the last follow-up, 20 patients had near stereoacuity, and the mean near stereoacuities measured by the random-dot butterfly stereogram and the preschool random-dot stereogram were （149.00±152.93）＂ and （201.05±235.94）＂, respectively. Effects of thinning on the understory light environment of different stands and the photosynthetic performance and growth of the reforestation species Phoebe bournei

Light levels determine regeneration in stands and a key concern is how to regulate the light environment of different stand types to the requirements of the *** this study,we selected three stands typical in south China(a Cryptomeria japonica plantation,a Quercus acutissima plantation,and a mixed stand of both)and three thinning intensities to determine the best understory light environ-ment for 3-year-old Phoebe bournei *** canopy structure,understory light environment,and photosynthe-sis and growth indicators were assessed following *** improved canopy structure and understory light availability of each stand;species composition was the reason for differences in the understory light *** the same thinning intensity,the mixed stand had the greatest light radiation and most balanced spectral *** photosynthesis and growth were closely related to the light environment;all three stands required heavy thinning to create an effective and sustained understory light *** a suitable understory light environment,the efficiency of light interception,absorption,and use by seedlings was enhanced,resulting in a higher carbon assimilation the main limiting factor was stomatal *** a shade-avoidance signal,red/far-red radia-tion is a critical factor driving changes in photosynthesis and growth of *** seedlings,and a reduction increased light absorption and use capacity and height:diameter *** growth advantage transformed from diameter to height,enabling seedlings to access more *** findings suggest that the regeneration of shade-tolerant species such as *** could be enhanced if a targeted approach to thinning based on stand type was adopted.

Astronomic background of global huge earthquakes at beginning of 21st century

Since the beginning of the 21st century,major earthquakes have frequently occurred *** explore the impact of astronomical factors on earthquakes,in this study,the statistical analysis method of correlation is used to systematically analyze the effects of astronomical factors,such as solar activity,Earth’s rotation,lunar declination angle,celestial tidal force,and other phenomena on M≥8 global earthquakes at the beginning of the 21st *** regard to solar activity,this study focuses on the analysis of the 11-year and century cycles of solar *** causal relationship of the Earth’s rotation is not obvious in this work and previous works;in contrast,the valley period of the solar activity century cycle may be an important astronomical factor leading to the frequent occurrence of global earthquakes at the beginning of the 21st *** topic warrants further study.

First satellite observation of total column water vapor from the Chinese Environmental Trace Gases Monitoring Instrument

Atmospheric water vapor is a critical component of the Earth's water cycle and has significant impacts on weather,climate, and atmospheric chemistry. However, deficiencies remain in the coverage and accuracy of water vapor monitoring. In this study, we first retrieved the total column water vapor（TCWV） in the visible blue spectral band from two Chinese satellite UV-Vis spectrometers, the Environmental Trace Gases Monitoring Instruments（EMIs）, which are onboard the Chinese GaoFen-5（GF-5, since May 2018） and GaoFen-5B（GF-5B, since September 2021） satellites. Nevertheless, limited by factors such as the relatively lower spectral signal-to-noise ratio and weak absorption of water vapor, the accurate retrieval of TCWV from the EMI spectrum is rather challenging. Therefore, we improved the baseline TCWV retrieval based on the differential optical absorption technique, including the re-calibration of the on-orbit spectra, optimization of the spectral fitting, and bias correction in the fitted result. Sensitivity tests show that the mean retrieval TCWV error of the EMI decreased by 1.47 kg m–2compared to that using uncalibrated spectra. The improved spectral fitting significantly reduced the relative uncertainty of the water vapor slant column densities（SCD） by 13.42%, and increased the number of successful fits by 11.64%. The improved EMI TCWV retrieval results from both the GF-5 and GF-5B satellites show a trend consistent with the TROPOspheric Monitoring Instrument（TROPOMI）satellite observations, with a correlation coefficient（R） of 0.98 and a mean bias of 1.04 kg m–2（6.88%）. Ground-based validations showed that the correlation between the EMI TCWV retrievals from the GF-5B satellite（R=0.91） and sun photometer measurements was significantly higher than that from the GF-5 satellite（R=0.87）, which may have been due to the improved performance of the EMI instrument on the GF-5B satellite.
