Effects of the intergrain exchange interaction on magnetic properties of nanocomposite magnets were investigated by using the computer simulation based on the micromagnetic theory. The simulation was carried out under the assumptions that the strength of the intergrain exchange interaction is weaker than that of the intragrain exchange interaction, that inhomogeneous nanostructures result in the distribution of the strength of the intergrain exchange interaction, and that there exists nonmagnetic intergranular phase (NMIP) between grain boundaries. The distribution of the strength of the intergrain exchange interaction was simulated by the lognormal distribution with the standard deviation of σ.The calculations for Nd 2Fe 14B/α-Fe nanocomposite magnets reveal that a suitably weak intergrain exchange interaction and small grain size enable us to improve magnetic properties. It is also found that a Nd 2Fe 14B/α-Fe nanocomposite magnet has a potential of a (BH) max value exceeding 300 kJ·m -3. On the other hand, the calculations for Nd 2Fe 14B/Fe 3B nanocomposite magnets reveal that the distribution of the strength of the intergrain exchange interaction deteriorates magnetic properties significantly. Particularly, this tendency is remarkable, when the grain size L is larger than its optimum value, 11 nm. The existence of nonmagnetic boundary layers accelerats this tendency. At σ=0.2, the calculated demagnetization curve for the model magnet composed of Nd 2Fe 14B(36%)/Fe 3B(54%)/NMIP(10%) (Valume fraction) grains (L=15 nm) agrees with that obtained experimentally for a Nd 2Fe 14B/Fe 3B nanocomposite magnet. These results suggest importance of refinement of grain size, suppression of a nonmagnetic intergranular phase, and preparation of homogeneous nanostructure for superior magnetic properties.

Autism spectrum disorder(AsD)is a prevalent and complex neurodevelopmental disorder which has strong genetic *** the rapidly rising incidence of autism,little is known about its aetiology,risk factors,and disease *** are currently neither validated biomarkers for diagnostic screening nor specific medication for *** the last two decades,there have been remarkable advances in genetics,with hundreds of genes identified and validated as being associated with a high risk for *** convergence of neuroscience methods is becoming more widely recognized for its significance in elucidating the pathological mechanisms of *** have been devoted to exploring the behavioural functions,key pathological mechanisms and potential treatments of ***,as we highlight in this review,emerging evidence shows that signal transduction molecular events are involved in pathological processes such as transcription,translation,synaptic transmission,epigenetics and immunoinflammatory *** involvement has important implications for the discovery of precise molecular targets for ***,we review recent insights into the mechanisms and clinical implications of signal transduction in autism from molecular,cellular,neural circuit,and neurobehavioural ***,the challenges and future perspectives are discussed with regard to novel strategies predicated on the biological features of autism.

BACKGROUND For total laparoscopic distal gastrectomies for gastric cancer,the reconstruction method is critical to the clinical outcome of the ***,which reconstruction technique is optimal remains *** originally reported the augmented rectangle technique(ART)as a reconstruction option for total laparoscopic Billroth I ***,little is known about its effect on long-term outcomes,specifically the incidence of postgastrectomy syndrome and its impact on quality of *** To analyze postgastrectomy syndrome and quality of life after ART using the Postgastrectomy syndrome Assessment scale-37(PGsAs-37)*** At Juntendo University,a total of 94 patients who underwent ART for Billroth I reconstruction with total laparoscopic distal gastrectomies for gastric cancer between July 2016 and March 2020 completed the PGsAs-37 *** analysis was performed,comparing those 94 ART cases from our institution(ART group)to 909 distal gastrectomy cases with a Billroth I reconstruction from other Japanese institutions who also completed the PGsAs-37 as part of a larger national database(PGsAs group).REsULTs Patients in the ART group had significantly better total symptom scores in all the symptom subscales(i.e.,esophageal reflux,abdominal pain,meal-related distress,indigestion,diarrhea,constipation,and dumping).The loss of body weight was marginally greater for those in the ART group than in the PGsAs group(-9.3%vs-7.9%,P=0.054).The ART group scored significantly lower in their dissatisfaction of ongoing symptoms,during meals,and with daily *** ART for Billroth I reconstruction provided beneficial long-term results for postgastrectomy syndrome and quality of life in patients undergoing total laparoscopic distal gastrectomies for gastric cancer.

A nucleotide substitution at the 5′ splice site of intron 1 of rice HEADING DATE 1(HD1) gene homolog in foxtail millet, broadly found in landraces from Europe and Asia

We investigated genetic variation of a rice HEADING DATE 1(HD1) homolog in foxtail ***, we searched for a rice HD1 homolog in a foxtail millet genome sequence and designed primers to amplify the entire coding sequence of the gene. We compared full HD1 gene sequences of 11 accessions(including Yugu 1, a Chinese cultivar used for genome sequencing) from various regions in Europe and Asia, found a nucleotide substitution at a putative splice site of intron 1, and designated the accessions with the nucleotide substitution as carrying a splicing variant. We verified by RT-PCR that this single nucleotide substitution causes aberrant splicing of intron 1. We investigated the geographical distribution of the splicing variant in 480 accessions of foxtail millet from various regions of Europe and Asia and part of Africa by d CAPs and found that the splicing variant is broadly distributed in Europe and Asia. Differences of heading times between accessions with wild type allele of the HD1 gene and those with the splicing variant allele were unclear. We also investigated variation in 13 accessions of ssp. viridis, the wild ancestor, and the results suggested that the wild type is predominant in the wild ancestor.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)is emphysema and/or chronic bronchitis characterised by long-term breathing problems and poor *** prevalence of COPD has increased over the last decade and the drugs most commonly used to treat it,such as glucocorticoids and bronchodilators,have significant therapeutic effects;however,they also cause side effects,including infection and *** we reviewed the pathogenesis and progression of COPD and elaborated on the effects and mechanisms of newly developed molecular targeted COPD therapeutic *** these new drugs,we focussed on thioredoxin(Trx).Trx effectively prevents the progression of COPD by regulating redox status and protease/anti-protease balance,blocking the NF-κB and MAPK signalling pathways,suppressing the activation and migration of inflammatory cells and the production of cytokines,inhibiting the synthesis and the activation of adhesion factors and growth factors,and controlling the cAMP-PKA and PI3K/Akt signalling *** mechanism by which Trx affects COPD is different from glucocorticoid-based mechanisms which regulate the inflammatory reaction in association with suppressing immune *** addition,Trx also improves the insensitivity of COPD to steroids by inhibiting the production and internalisation of macrophage migration inhibitory factor(MIF).Taken together,these findings suggest that Trx may be the ideal drug for treating COPD.

背景:腹腔灌洗液细胞学检查是一种检测腹腔内游离的癌细胞的方法。它已被广泛应用于临床,尤其在胃癌中应用更多。然而,其在结直肠癌中的临床意义尚未明确。目的:探讨结直肠癌患者腹腔灌洗液细胞学检查结果的阳性率及其对预后的影响。设计:单中心回顾性观察性研究。机构:综合癌症中心(日本癌症研究会有明医院)。患者:回顾性分析2007-2013年日本癌症研究会有明医院收治的3 135例结直肠癌患者的临床资料。手术开始后立即进行术中腹腔灌洗液细胞学检查。灌洗液以2 500 rpm离心5 min,对细胞行巴氏染色以进行显微镜观察。

Cerebellar ataxias are characterized by a progressive decline in motor coordination,but the specific output circuits and underlying pathological mechanism remain poorly *** cell-type-specific manipulations,we discovered a novel GABAergic Purkinje cell(PC)circuit in the cerebellar IV/V lobe that projected to CaMKIIα+neurons in the fastigial nucleus(FN),which regulated sensorimotor ***,transcriptomics profiling analysis revealed various cerebellar neuronal identities,and we validated that biorientation defective 1(BOD1)played an important role in the circuit of IV/V lobe to ***1 deficit in PCs of IV/V lobe attenuated the excitability and spine density of PCs,accompany with ataxia ***,BOD1 enrichment in PCs of IV/V lobe reversed the hyperexcitability of CaMKIIα+neurons in the FN and ameliorated ataxia behaviors in L7-Cre;BOD1f/f ***,these findings further suggest that specific regulation of the cerebellar IV/V lobePCs→FNCaMKIIα+circuit might provide neuromodulatory targets for the treatment of ataxia behaviors.
