salacia oblonga (Wall.) belonging to the family Celastraceae is an important medicinal plant available in India and sri Lanka. It possesses an array of pharmacological and therapeutic properties. In the present study phenolic compounds of s. oblonga methanolic extracts were estimated by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) indicating the presence of catechin, quercetin, synapic acid and syringic acid. The study involved evaluation of s. oblonga extracts for cytotoxic and cytoprotective effects on human lymphocytes. Aerial extracts have significant protective activity against hydrogen peroxide (Hsub>2sub>Osub>2sub>) induced cytotoxic activity in comparison to the root extracts. The results relate the cytoprotective effect of s. oblonga due to the presence of poly phenols and other phytochemicals, as they have significant ability to remove free radicals or reactive species and might induce the expression of antioxidant enzymes inside the cells.

Widespread catastrophic fog episodes in polluted northern India have been attributed to tropical cyclone activity in the Bay of Bengal&Arabian sea;however,limited studies have been conducted on the effect of tropical cyclone intensity(’T’Numbers)on different fog characteristics in Indo Gangetic Basin,Northern *** this study,different characteristics,including persistence,intensity,and areal extension,were analyzed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport,New Delhi during 1998-99,2013-14,and 2016-17.A high-intensity tropical cyclone(severe to Very severe Cyclonic storm)has been found to significantly increase the persistence,intensity,and areal extension of fog by inducing strong subsidence over the IGI Airport/Indo-Gangetic *** knowledge is vital for improving the short-term forecasting of fog in the IndoGangetic Basin of Northern India and will further support the Government agencies to take preventive safety measures and planning well in advance time.

A 41-year old alchoholic male with a history of chronic pancreatitis was admitted for nausea, vomiting and weight loss. Angiogram was performed and demonstrated an aneurysmal sac with a narrow neck originating from the inferior aspect of the distal portion of the proper hepatic artery. The origin of the pseudoaneurysm was covered with a 5 mm × 2.5 cm Viabahn cover stent （Gore）. A repeat angiogram showed some leak and a second stent （6 mm × 2.3 cm） was deployed and overlapped with the first stent by 3 mm. Contrast was injected and a repeat angiogram demonstrated complete exclusion of the aneurysm. A repeat computerized axial tomography （CAT） scan of the abdomen after 24 h showed successful stenting. The patient had an uneventful post-operative course.

Rising global COsub>2sub> levels are a major factor that impacts not only the environment but also many plant functions including growth, productivity and nutritional quality. The study examined the impact of elevated [COsub>2sub>] on nutritional quality and growth characteristics of lettuce (Lactuca sativa) and spinach (spinacia oleracea). Elevated [COsub>2sub>] decreased the concentration of many important nutrients including nitrogen (protein), potassium and phosphorus in the edible parts of both lettuce and spinach. The nitrogen concentration in lettuce shoots was reduced by more than 30% at elevated [COsub>2sub>] compared to the plants grown at ambient level of COsub>2sub>. similarly the concentration of a number of micronutrients including sulfur, zinc, copper and magnesium, was depressed in lettuce shoots. Although the total phenolic content and antioxidant capacity were higher in lettuce at elevated COsub>2sub>, they were not affected in spinach. The photosynthetic activity was variable among the plant species while there was no increase in the carbon accumulation in these plants at elevated [COsub>2sub>]. However, there was significant reduction in the leaf stomatal conductance in both lettuce and spinach in response to higher [COsub>2sub>], which is likely affect both water loss from the leaves and their photosynthetic activity. The results indicate a broad adverse impact of rising [COsub>2sub>] on the nutritional quality of commonly consumed leafy vegetables namely, lettuce and spinach.

Attention Based Multi-Patched 3D-CNNs with Hybrid Fusion Architecture for Reducing False Positives during Lung Nodule Detection

In lung nodules there is a huge variation in structural properties like shape, surface Texture. Even the spatial properties vary, where they can be found attached to lung walls, blood vessels in complex non-homogenous lung structures. Moreover, the nodules are of small size at their early stage of development. This poses a serious challenge to develop a Computer aided diagnosis (CAD) system with better false positive reduction. Hence, to reduce the false positives per scan and to deal with the challenges mentioned, this paper proposes a set of three diverse 3D Attention based CNN architectures (3D ACNN) whose predictions on given low dose Volumetric Computed Tomography (CT) scans are fused to achieve more effective and reliable results. Attention mechanism is employed to selectively concentrate/weigh more on nodule specific features and less weight age over other irrelevant features. By using this attention based mechanism in CNN unlike traditional methods there was a significant gain in the classification performance. Contextual dependencies are also taken into account by giving three patches of different sizes surrounding the nodule as input to the ACNN architectures. The system is trained and validated using a publicly available LUNA16 dataset in a 10 fold cross validation approach where a competition performance metric (CPM) score of 0.931 is achieved. The experimental results demonstrate that either a single patch or a single architecture in a one-to-one fashion that is adopted in earlier methods cannot achieve a better performance and signifies the necessity of fusing different multi patched architectures. Though the proposed system is mainly designed for pulmonary nodule detection it can be easily extended to classification tasks of any other 3D medical diagnostic computed tomography images where there is a huge variation and uncertainty in classification.

Background The natural history of the profile and development of the miscellaneous complications. iver cirrhosis in China has not been we complications of liver cirrhosis as we understood. This study aimed to elucidate as the mortality of those cirrhotics with Methods We assembled data from the clinical characteristics, especially from the profile complications of cirrhosis on admission, and collected information by telephone or interview with patients and/or their family members in clinic to evaluate the development of complications in 920 patients enrolled in a prospective non-randomized cohort study, and followed up from June 2006 to October 2010. Mortality was calculated using Kaplan-Meier analysis and Cox regress analysis. We employed both of the Child-Pugh scoring system and model for end-stage liver disease （MELD） scoring system to compare with the accordance and veracity between liver function and the long-term outcome. Results On admission, only 7.4% patients had no complications, 44.5% patients with one complication （ascites, esophageal/gastric varices or hepatocellular carcinoma）, 33.8% patients with two coexisting complications, and 7.5% patients had complications concurrently with ascites, esophageal/gastric varices and hepatocellular carcinoma. During the follow-up （mean follow-up time was 17 months, ranging from 1.0 to 52.2 months） of all the patients, 37.5% patients survived without new complications, 62.5% patients had new complications, and the overall mortality was 53.9%. Patients with one or more complications had higher mortality （total mortality, 1-year or 3-year mortality） and shorter mean survival time than those without any complication; the major cause of mortality of these cirrhotic patients was hepatocellular carcinoma （59%）. Evaluated with the Child-Pugh score system, the total mortality in those with the scores more than 12 （class C） was 71.4%, the 1-year and 3-year mortalities were 57.1% and 71.4% respectively; while evaluated with the

Nowadays with ever increasing demand of energy, developing of alternative power sources is an important issue all over the world. In this respect we have prepared nanocomposites based on metal oxide (titanium oxide) coated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)/polyaniline (PANI) with graphene and without graphene and studied their electrochemical performance. The formation of the polymer in the nanocomposites was confirmed by the Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) study. The morphological characterisations were carried out by the Field Emission scanning Electron Microscopy (FEsEM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). To characterize the prepared nanocomposites electrode, a cyclic voltammetry test for measuring specific capacitance, and an impedance test were conducted. The highest value of specific capacitance obtained for the TiO2 coated MWCNTs/PANI nanocomposite was 443.57 F/g at 2 mV/s scan rate. Upon addition of graphene nanosheet to the TiO2 coated MWCNTs in a weight ratio of (9:1) the specific capacitance value increased to 666.3 F/g at the same scan rate, also resulting in an increase in energy density and power density.

Oxygen limiting conditions are a common occurrence in root zones of most crop plants and can adversely affect nearly all aspects of plant growth and development including its survival. The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a novel redox cycling agent, vitamin K3, and various peroxides including hydrogen peroxide, calcium peroxide and magnesium peroxide in alleviating the effects of hypoxia in bean seedlings grown in nutrient culture. All the anti-hypoxic agents including vitamin K3 had a positive impact on the overall growth of bean seedlings under hypoxic conditions, but their responses were variable depending on the concentration. With regard to shoot growth, vitamin K3 (5 μM) increased the leaf area significantly, by more than 58% over the hypoxic control plants and produced the highest stem fresh weight similar to calcium peroxide (20 μM) and magnesium peroxide (10 μM). In addition, the use of vitamin K3 resulted in the highest accumulation of chlorophyll (chla + chlb) in the leaves, an increase of nearly two-fold over the hypoxic control plants. Furthermore under hypoxia, calcium peroxide (20 μM) and magnesium peroxide (10 μM) produced the highest leaf biomass (FW) followed by vitamin K3. Vitamin K3 (1 μM) also favored root growth in bean seedlings under hypoxia;it produced the largest increase in root length and root biomass (DW) similar to calcium peroxide and magnesium peroxide. Based on the overall shoot and root growth response of bean seedlings to various anti-hypoxic substances under hypoxic conditions, calcium peroxide, magnesium peroxide and vitamin K3 performed better than hydrogen peroxide. These findings show that vitamin K3 and peroxide salts are effective in alleviating hypoxic stress in bean seedlings and also, further highlight their potential for dealing with hypoxia in wide ranging situations.

近年来精神障碍和社会心理问题的患病率显著增加。精神障碍患者是最脆弱的人群之一,他们的政治、经济、社会和文化权利经常被忽视,在利用卫生保健、保险、就业和住房方面也受到歧视。精神卫生立法可以提高精神障碍患者的生活水平,可以为保护精神障碍患者的基本人权提供保障,还可以为精神障碍患者的社区融合,改善其获得卫生保健的机会,保护公民权利,以及住房、教育和就业等关键问题的解决提供法律框架。精神卫生法成为促进精神障碍患者获得精神保健服务,促进和保护其权利的有效工具。事实上,精神卫生系统的建立是一个循序渐进的过程,尽管一些国家已经建立了精神卫生法,但是其精神卫生体系仍然需要进一步完善。国家需要对精神卫生立法不断进行审查、修订和修正,不断提高其质量。世界卫生组织于2005年发布了一份关于精神卫生立法的检查清单,目的是为各国制定以人权为中心的精神卫生法提供指导。这份清单不是一套绝对的规则,它有助于各国评估其精神卫生立法是否已包括了关键组成部分,也有助于拉近各国精神卫生立法与《世界人权宣言》之间的联系。目的精神卫生立法的目的是保护、促进和改善公民的生活和精神健康。制定精神卫生法可以成为保护和促进人们获得利用精神卫生服务权利的有效工具。中国和印度尼西亚都制定了精神卫生法来保护精神障碍患者的权利。然而,精神卫生法本身的执行并不能确保尊重人权。因此,有必要对精神卫生立法进行分析,以确定精神卫生立法的内容是否能为精神卫生障碍患者提供保护。精神卫生系统的发展不是一蹴而就的,它需要不断的完善来提高精神卫生服务的质量。本研究的目的:1)根据世界卫生组织精神卫生立法检查清单,对中国和印度尼西亚的精神卫生法进行比较,分析其立法符合世界卫生组织检查清单的程度;2)为中国和印度尼西亚精神卫生系统的发展提供建议。方法本研究采用文献研究和专家访谈法。以世界卫生组织公布的精神卫生立法检查清单(2005年)为基本框架,在中国和印度尼西亚分别采访了一名具有法律或卫生法经验的专家,对各自国家的精神卫生法及相关的法律对照世界卫生组织检查清单进行打分,并解释理由。访谈的印度尼西亚专家是一名律师,支持并担任法律规划工作,目前在多所大学担任法律讲师;中国的专家是某大学卫生法专业教授,同时在中国卫生法专业学会任职。本研究采用的专家访谈法在先前Kelly等评估英格兰,威尔士和爱尔兰精神卫生立法,Richard评估印度精神卫生立法时均应用过。两名专家对各自国家的精神卫生法及相关法律对照世界卫生组织检查清单(2005年)进行评估,世界卫生组织2005年精神卫生法检查清单由175个条款组成,分为27个部分:A:序言和目的;B:定义;C:精神卫生服务的获得;D:患者获得精神健康服务的权利;E:家庭成员和其他护理人员的权利;F:法律能力及监护;G:自愿住院和治疗;H:无自主决定能力患者;I:非自愿住院(独立于住院)和非自愿治疗(住院和治疗结合);J:非自愿治疗(独立于非自愿住院);K:代理人对治疗的知情同意;L:社区中的非自愿治疗;M:紧急情况;N:精神障碍的确定;O:特殊治疗;P:隔离,限制;Q:临床与实验研究;R:监督和审查机制;s:警方职责;T:犯罪的精神障碍患者;U:歧视;V:住房;W:就业;X:社会保障;Y:人权问题;Z:对弱势社群的保护;AZ:罚则。这份清单可以帮助各国审查现有精神卫生立法的全面性和充分性。根据2014年sotelo-Monroy的研究,我们按照以下方法对三种可能的答案进行赋值:(a)如果该材料完全符合法律规定,或在精神卫生法中没有规定,但在其他法律中有规定,则得分为2;(b)精神卫生法有规定,但不全面的为1分;(c)完全不包括在内的为0分。如果为(b),请解释为何没有充分涵盖,现有条文有何欠缺或问题。如果为(c),请解释为何现行法律不包括(如有需要,可将额外资料加入新页)。如果为(b)或(c),请说明如何/是否将其列入新法律。每个国家精神卫生立法条款与世界卫生组织检查清单的符合程度为每位专家依据世界卫生组织检查清单对各自国家精神卫生立法的评分除以世界卫生组织检查清单中该条目的最大值乘以100%,世界卫生组织检查清单包括177个项目,因此总分为354分。计算公式为:符合率:专家对每个国家精神卫生立法的评分/世界卫生组织检查清单中该条款的最大值×100%为了分析立法与世界卫生组织检查清单的符合程度,我们将结果分为4个级别符合性非常高(75-100%)、符合性一般(50-74%)、符合性较低(25-49%)和符合性非常低(低于24%)。结果1.中国精神卫生法与世界卫生组织检查清单符合率非常高的条款包括:A)序言和目的,(C)精神卫生服务的获得,(D)患者获得精神健康服务的权利,(G)自愿住院和治疗,(H)无自主决定能力患者,(N)精神障碍的确定,(s)警方职责,(U)歧视,W(就业
