Cell therapy,i.e.,the use of cells to repair an affected tissue or organ,is at the forefront of regenerative and personalized *** the multiple cell types that have been used for this purpose[including adult stem cells such as mesenchymal stem cells or pluripotent stem cells],urine-derived stem cells(UsCs)have aroused interest in the past *** display classical features of mesenchymal stem cells such as differentiation capacity and ***,they have the main advantage of being isolable from one sample of voided urine with a cheap and unpainful procedure,which is broadly applicable,whereas most adult stem cell types require invasive ***,UsCs can be differentiated into renal cell *** is of high interest for renal cell therapy-based regenerative *** review will firstly describe the isolation and characterization of *** will specifically present UsC phenotype,which is not an object of consensus in the literature,as well as detail their differentiation *** the second part of this review,we will present and discuss the main applications of *** include use as a substrate to generate human induced pluripotent stem cells,but we will deeply focus on the use of UsCs for cell therapy approaches with a detailed analysis depending on the targeted organ or ***,we will also focus on the applications that rely on the use of UsC-derived products such as microvesicles including exosomes,which is a strategy being increasingly *** the last section,we will discuss the remaining barriers and challenges in the field of UsC-based regenerative medicine.

Exploring the impact of weak measurements on exciton-exciton interactions

In our study of super quantum discord between two excitonic qubits inside a coupled semiconductor quantum dots system,our primary focus is to uncover the impact of weak measurement on its quantum *** achieve this,we analyze how varying the measurement strength x,affects this super quantum correlation in the presence of thermal ***,we assess the effect of this variation on the system's evolution against its associated quantum parameters;external electric fields,exciton-exciton dipole interaction energy and F?rster *** findings indicate that adjusting x to smaller values effectively enhances the super quantum correlation,making weak measurements act as a *** adjustment ensures its robustness against thermal effects while preserving the non-classical attributes of the ***,our study unveils that the effect of weak measurements on this latter surpasses the quantum effects associated with the ***,manipulating the parameter x allows the weak measurement to function as a versatile tool for modulating quantum characteristics and controlling exciton-exciton interactions within the coupled semiconductor quantum dots system.

AIM:To investigate trefoil factor(TFF) gene copy number,mRNA and protein expression as potential biomarkers in cholangiocarcinoma(CCA).METHODs:TFF mRNA levels,gene copy number and protein expression were determined respectively by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(PCR),quantitative PCR and immunohistochemistry in bile duct epithelium biopsies collected from individuals with CCA,precancerous bile duct dysplasia and from disease-free *** functional impact of recombinant human(rh) TFF2 peptide treatment on proliferation and epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) /mitogenactivated protein kinase(MAPK) signaling was assessed in the CCA cell line,KMBC,by viable cell counting and immunoblotting,***:TFF1,TFF2 and TFF3 mRNA expression was significantly increased in CCA tissue compared to disease-free controls,and was unrelated to gene copy ***1 immunoreactivity was strongly increased in both dysplasia and CCA,whereas TFF2 immunoreactivity was increased only in CCA compared to diseasefree *** contrast,TFF3 immunoreactivity was moderately decreased in dysplasia and further decreased in ***-Meier analysis found no association of TFF mRNA,protein and copy number with age,gender,histological subtype,and patient survival *** of KMBC cells with rhTFF2 stimulated proliferation,triggered phosphorylation of EGFR and downstream extracellular signal related kinase(ERK),whereas co-incubation with the EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor,PD153035,blocked rhTFF2-dependent proliferation and EGFR/ERK ***:TFF mRNA/protein expression is indicative of CCA tumor progression,but not predictive for histological sub-type or survival ***2 is mitogenic in CCA via EGFR/MAPK activation.

A composite sphere assemblage model for porous oolitic rocks:Application to thermal conductivity

The present work is devoted to the determination of linear effective thermal conductivity of porous rocks characterized by an assemblage of grains(oolites) coated by a matrix. Two distinct classes of pores, *** or intra oolitic pores(oolite porosity) and mesopores or inter oolitic pores(inter oolite porosity), are taken into account. The overall porosity is supposed to be connected and decomposed into oolite porosity and matrix porosity. Within the framework of Hashin composite sphere assemblage(CsA)models, a two-step homogenization method is developed. At the first homogenization step, pores are assembled into two layers by using self-consistent scheme(sCs). At the second step, the two porous layers constituting the oolites and the matrix are assembled by using generalized self-consistent scheme(GsCs) and referred to as three-phase model. Numerical results are presented for data representative of a porous oolitic limestone. It is shown that the influence of porosity on the overall thermal conductivity of such materials may be significant.

Low-ionization galaxies and evolution in a pilot survey up to z=1

We present galactic spectroscopic data from a pencil beam of 10.75×7.5 centered on the X-ray cluster RXJ0054.0–2823 at z=*** study the spectral evolution of galaxies from z=1 down to the cluster redshift in a magnitude-limited sample at R≤23,for which the statistical properties of the sample are well *** divide emission-line galaxies into star-forming galaxies,Low Ionization Nuclear Emission line Regions（LINERs） ,and seyferts by using emission-line ratios of[OII],Hβ,and[OIII],and derive stellar fractions from population synthesis models. We focus our analysis on absorption and low-ionization *** absorption-line galaxies,we recover the well-known result that these galaxies have had no detectable evolution since z～0.6-0.7,but we also find that in the range z=0.65-1,at least 50% of the stars in bright absorption systems are younger than 2.5 *** absorption-line galaxies in the cluster at z=0.29 also had significant star formation during the previous 2-3 Gyr,but their brighter counterparts seem to be only composed of old *** z～0.8,our dynamically young cluster had a truncated *** result seems to be consistent with a scenario where the final assembly of E/s0 took place at *** the volume-limited range 0.35≤z≤0.65,we find that 23% of the early-type galaxies have LINER-like spectra with Hβin absorption and have a significant component of A *** vast majority of LINERs in our sample have significant populations of young and intermediate-aged stars and are thus not related to AGNs,but to the population of‘retired galaxies’recently identified by Cid Fernandes et *** the sloan Digital sky survey（sDss） .Early-type LINERs with various fractions of A stars and E＋A galaxies appear to play an important role in the formation of the red sequence.

Assessing the impact of conceptual mineral systems uncertainty on prospectivity predictions

The past two decades have seen a rapid adoption of artificial intelligence methods applied to mineral exploration. More recently, the easier acquisition of some types of data has inspired a broad literature that has examined many machine learning and modelling techniques that combine exploration criteria,or ’features’, to generate predictions for mineral prospectivity. Central to the design of prospectivity models is a ’mineral system’, a conceptual model describing the key geological elements that control the timing and location of economic mineralisation. The mineral systems model defines what constitutes a training set, which features represent geological evidence of mineralisation, how features are engineered and what modelling methods are used. Mineral systems are knowledge-driven conceptual models, thus all parameter choices are subject to human biases and opinion so alternative models are ***, the effect of alternative mineral systems models on prospectivity is rarely compared despite the potential to heavily influence final predictions. In this study, we focus on the effect of conceptual uncertainty on Fe ore prospectivity models in the Hamersley region, Western Australia. Four important considerations are tested.(1) Five different supergene and hypogene conceptual mineral systems models guide the inputs for five forest-based classification prospectivity models model.(2) To represent conceptual uncertainty, the predictions are then combined for prospectivity model comparison.(3)Representation of three-dimensional objects as two-dimensional features are tested to address commonly ignored thickness of geological units.(4) The training dataset is composed of known economic mineralisation sites(deposits) as ’positive’ examples, and exploration drilling data providing ’negative’sampling locations. Polyester(PET) was pre-activated by atmospheric air plasma and coated by various inorganic oxide nanoparticles(MOx) such as titanium dioxide(TiO2), zinc oxide(ZnO), and silicon oxide(siO2), using poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF) and chitosan(CT) as binders. The resulting PET-PVDF-MOx-CT composites were thermally compressed and then characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier infrared spectroscopy, thermal gravimetric analysis, and flame retardancy(FR) ability tests. PET modifications resulted in more thermally stable and less harmful composites with weaker hazardous gas release. This was explained in terms of structure compaction that blocks pyrolysis gas *** incorporation was found to reduce the material susceptibility to oxidation. This judicious procedure also allowed improving flame retardancy ability, by lengthening the combustion delay and slowing the flame propagation. Chitosan also turned out to contribute to a possible synergy with the other polymers present in the synthesized materials. These results provide valuable data that allow understanding the FR phenomena and envisaging low-cost high FR materials from biodegradable raw materials.

study of the Action Mode of Wickerhamomyces anomalus against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides

Colletotrichum gloeosporioides is the causal agent of anthracnose disease in fruits and vegetables, representing a global problem. The use of biocontrol agents has proved effective against fungal diseases in a wide variety of products. In this work, the antifungal activity of Wickerhamomyces anomalus against C. gloeosporioides isolated from contaminated avocados was evaluated. The antagonism and volatile compound inhibition were measured on Petri dishes. In the mixed cultures, the mycelia damage was observed by scanning electron microscope （sEM）. Chitinase and glucanase production by the antagonism was quantified by the reducing sugars method, and biofilm formation was evaluated with 1% crystal violet. The yeast W. anomalus could reduce the growth of C. gloeosporioides up to 65% by direct antagonism and 10% by volatile compounds. The antagonist did not allow the conidia germination and mycelia growth in any of the tested formulations. sEM showed mycelial damage caused by W. anomalus. The antagonist showed adhesion to the mycelium by a polysaccharide biofilm. The presence of mycelium stimulated the hydrolytic enzyme production with the maximal activity of 21.4 U/mg for chitinases at 24 h and 10 U/mg for glucanases at 60 h. These results showed that W. anomalus used together different mechanisms to express its antifungal activity against C. gloeosporioides. This study might be the first report for this phytopathogen isolated from avocado fruits, which could represent an opportunity to establish biocontrol of diseases for this agricultural product.

Typology of the Main Fungal Diseases Affecting Winter Wheat in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

Over the 2003-2009 period, field campaigns were carried out in order to identify the main fungal diseases of winter wheat （Triticum aestivum） in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg. Four fungal diseases （septoria leaf blotch （sLB）, wheat leaf rust （WLR）, wheat powdery mildew （WPM） and fusarium head blight （FHB）） were observed and a regional-based typology was established according to their severity and prevalence. In the Gutland （south）, sLB severity was strong （about 51% on average） and higher than the severity （about 16%） prevailing in the Oesling （North）. similar typology was observed with the WLR： high severity in the Gutland （66% and 57% for the years 2003 and 2007, respectively） and low severity （〈 1%） in the Oesling. The FHB was also present in the Eastern part of the Gutland, with a prevalence and severity significantly higher （P = 0.049 and P = 0.012, respectively, Tukey＇s test） compared with their values in the Oesling. On the other hand, the WPM severity was high in the Oesling （15% to 40%） while less than 1% in the Gutland. such a study is important for the spatial mapping of wheat fungal diseases risk based on agroclimatic parameters and for defining optimal frequencies and dates of chemical treatments.
