Literature Review on the significance of Death Conferences for Nurses in Japan

Aim: To identify evidence in the literature on the significance of death conferences for nurses. Method: This is an integrative literature review, consisting of scientific articles published on “Ichushi-Web”, an Internet-based retrieval service by the Japan Medical Abstracts society (JAMAs), pubMed, Medline, Cochrane library, and Google scholar for ‘the whole year,’ combining the keywords “death conference”, “nurse”, and “KJ method”. The significance of death conferences was reviewed by comparison of prior qualitative studies analyzed by the KJ method. Result: seven studies, all from Japanese, were identified. The significance of death conferences showed “refraction”, “cooperation”, “directionality of nursing”, “caring for patient”, “caring for family”, “specific methods of nursing”, and “feelings of nurses”. Conclusion: The significance of death conferences is considered to be the effect on nurses for amelioration in the quality of patient and family care, development of human relations, and growth as a nurse. The quality of death conferences should be enhanced based on the guidelines for its clear definition.

In response to the Deepwater Horizon （DwH） oil spill event in 2010, the Naval Oceanographic Office deployed a nowcast-forecast system covering the Gulf of Mexico and adjacent Caribbean sea that was designated Americas seas, or AMsEAs, which is documented in this manuscript. The DwH disaster provided a challenge to the application of available ocean-forecast capabilities, and also generated a historically large observational dataset. AMsEAs was evaluated by four complementary efforts, each with somewhat different aims and approaches： a university research consortium within an Integrated Ocean Observing system （IOOs） testbed; a petroleum industry consortium, the Gulf of Mexico 3-D Operational Ocean Forecast system pilot prediction project （GOMEX-ppp）; a British petroleum （Bp） funded project at the Northern Gulf Institute in response to the oil spill; and the Navy itself. Validation metrics are presented in these different projects for water temperature and salinity profiles, sea surface wind, sea surface temperature, sea surface height, and volume transport, for different forecast time scales. The validation found certain geographic and time biases/errors, and small but systematic improvements relative to earlier regional and global modeling efforts. On the basis of these positive AMsEAs validation studies, an oil spill transport simulation was conducted using archived AMsEAs nowcasts to examine transport into the estuaries east of the Mississippi River. This effort captured the influences of Hurricane Alex and a non-tropical cyclone off the Louisiana coast, both of which pushed oil into the western Mississippi sound, illustrating the importance of the atmospheric influence on oil spills such as DwH.

The ARp2/3 complex, a highly conserved nucleator of F-actin polymerization, and its activator, the sCAR complex, have been shown to play important roles in leaf epidermal cell morphogenesis in Arabidopsis. However, the intracellular site（s） and function（s） of sCAR and ARp2/3 complex-dependent actin polymerization in plant cells remain unclear. We demonstrate that putative sCAR complex subunits BRK1 and sCAR1 are localized to the plasma membrane at sites of cell growth and wall deposition in expanding cells of leaves and roots. BRK1 localization is sCAR-dependent, providing further evidence of an association between these proteins in vivo. Consistent with plasma membrane localization of sCAR complex subunits, cortical F-actin accumulation in root tip cells is reduced in brkl mutants. Moreover, mutations disrupting the sCAR or ARp2/3 complex reduce the growth rate of roots and their ability to penetrate semi-solid medium, suggesting reduced rigidity. Cell walls of mutant roots exhibit abnormal structure and composition at intercellular junctions where BRK1 and sCAR1 are enriched in the adjacent plasma membrane. Taken together, our results suggest that sCAR and ARp2/3 complex-dependent actin polymerization promotes processes at the plasma membrane that are important for normal growth and wall assembly.

The southern road network covers the eastern, central and southern administrative regions;its linear network of national and provincial roads is about 5 620 km. It was the subject of a survey for the identification of lateritic quarries. To this effect, 144 sites have been discovered. The collected lateritic gravels were subjected to identification analyzes (Granulometry, Atterberg Limits, densimetry, water content) and geotechnical characterization tests (proctor Modified, CBR at 95% OpM). The obtained results show that the grain size has a great percentage of gravels (>60%) followed by sand. stones silt and clay particles are poorly represented. The samples show a high plasticity in conformity with Casagrande’s plasticity diagram. The density values of the solid particles (γ s) are quite stable in the studied area and vary between 26 and 29 KN/m3 for a natural water content comprised between 10% and 20%. The modified proctor test gives an optimal water value (Wop %) comprised between 8% and 12%. Dry density values (γ d) varied between 18 and 30 KN/m3. The bearing capacity of the materials is good (30 se results permit the recommendation of the studied materials as foundation layers of roads for traffic classes between T1-T4.

Wireless Networked Control systems (WNCs) are used to implement a control mechanism over a wireless network that is capable of carrying real-time traffic. This field has drawn enormous attention from current researchers because of its flexibility and robustness. However, designing efficient WNCs over Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) is still a challenging topic because of its less-predictable aspects, such as inconsistent delay, packet drop probability, and dynamic topology. This paper presents design guidelines for WNCs over MANET using the Network simulator version 2, Ns2 software. It investigates the impact of packet delay and packet drop under the AODV and DsR routing protocols. The simulation results have been compared to MATLAB results for validation.
