The reduction of nitrate to nitrite by the oral microbiota has been proposed to be important for oral health and results in nitric oxide formation that can improve cardiometabolic conditions. studies of bacterial composition in subgingival plaque suggest that nitrate-reducing bacteria are associated with periodontal health, but the impact of periodontitis on nitrate-reducing capacity(NRC)and, therefore, nitric oxide availability has not been evaluated. The current study aimed to evaluate how periodontitis affects the NRC of the oral microbiota. First, 16s rRNA sequencing data from five different countries were analyzed, revealing that nitratereducing bacteria were significantly lower in subgingival plaque of periodontitis patients compared with healthy individuals(P sets with n = 20–82 samples per dataset). secondly, subgingival plaque, saliva, and plasma samples were obtained from 42 periodontitis patients before and after periodontal treatment. The oral NRC was determined in vitro by incubating saliva with 8 mmol/L nitrate(a concentration found in saliva after nitrate-rich vegetable intake) and compared with the NRC of 15healthy individuals. salivary NRC was found to be diminished in periodontal patients before treatment(P s 90 days post-treatment. Additionally, the subgingival levels of nitrate-reducing bacteria increased after treatment and correlated negatively with periodontitis-associated bacteria(P significant effect of periodontal treatment on the baseline saliva and plasma nitrate and nitrite levels was found, indicating that differences in the NRC may only be revealed after nitrate intake. Our results suggest that an impaired NRC in periodontitis could limit dietary nitrate-derived nitric oxide levels, and the effect on systemic health should be explored in future studies.

Pancreatic adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is one of the most deadly cancers,characterized by extremely limited therapeutic options and a poor prognosis,as it is often diagnosed during late disease *** and selective treatments are urgently needed,since current therapies have limited efficacy and significant side *** proteomics analysis of extracellular vesicles,we discovered an imbalanced distribution of amino acids secreted by PDAC tumor *** findings revealed that PDAC cells preferentially excrete proteins with certain preferential amino acids,including isoleucine and histidine,via extracellular *** amino acids are associated with disease progression and can be targeted to elicit selective toxicity to PDAC tumor *** in vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrated that supplementation with these specific amino acids effectively eradicated PDAC ***,we also identified XRN1 as a potential target for these amino *** high selectivity of this treatment method allows for specific targeting of tumor metabolism with very low toxicity to normal ***,we found this treatment approach is easy-to-administer and with sustained tumor-killing ***,our findings reveal that exocytosed amino acids may serve as therapeutic targets for designing treatments of intractable PDAC and potentially offer alternative treatments for other types of cancers.

Designing an Effective Method for Automatic Electric Vehicle Charging stations in a static Environment

This article outlines an Effective Method for Automatic Electric Vehicle Charging stations in a static Environment. It consists of investigated wireless transformer structures with various ferrite forms. WPT technology has rapidly advanced in the last few years. At kilowatt power levels, the transmission distance grows from a few millimeters to several hundred millimeters with a grid to load efficiency greater than 90%. The improvements have made the WPT more appealing for electric vehicle (EV) charging applications in both static and dynamic charging scenarios. static and dynamic WEVCs, two of the main applications, are described, and current developments with features from research facilities, academic institutions, and businesses are noted. Additionally, forthcoming concepts based WEVCs are analyzed and examined, including “dynamic” wireless charging systems (WCs). A dynamic wireless power transfer (DWPT) system, which can supply electricity to moving EVs, is one of the feasible alternatives. The moving secondary coil is part of the dynamic WPT system, which also comprises of many fixed groundside (primary) coils. An equivalent circuit between the stationary system and the dynamic WPT system that results from the stationary system is demonstrated by theoretical investigations. The dynamic WPT system’s solenoid coils outperform circular coils in terms of flux distribution and misalignment. The WPT-related EV wireless charging technologies were examined in this study. WPT can assist EVs in overcoming their restrictions on cost, range, and charging time.

Acute effects of Helicobacter pylori extracts on gastric mucosal blood flow in the mouse

AIM： To investigate the mechanisms underlying the reduction in gastric blood flow induced by a luminal water extract of Hellcobacter pylori （HPE）. METHODs： The stomachs of isoflurane-anesthetized mice were exteriorized, and the mucosal surface exposed. Blood flow was measured with the laserDoppler technique, and systemic arterial blood pressure monitored. C57BL/6 mice were exposed to water extract produced from Hpylori strain 88-23. To investigate the role of a nerveor iNOs-mediated pathway, we used intraluminal lidocaine and iNOs-/- mice. Blood flow response to the endogenous nitric oxide synthase inhibitor asymmetric dimethyl arginine （ADMA） was also assessed. REsULTs： In wild-type mice, HPE decreased mucosal blood flow by approximately 30%. This reduction was abolished in iNOs-deficient mice, and by pre-treatment with lidocaine. Luminally applied ADMA resulted in reduction in blood flow similar to that observed in wildtype mice exposed to HPE. CONCLUsION： A H py/ori water extract reduces gastric mucosal blood flow acutely through iNOs- and nerve-mediated pathways.

There are both considerable horizontal and vertical governance problems with the Chinese state-owned-enterprises （sOEs）, which mean the firm operators are basically unaccountable. Due to the sOEs＇privileged positions in the Chinese political economy, almost all kinds of traditional institutions of corporate governance are far from perfect. Thus the value of overseas listing as a governance mechanism is highlighted, and that could be well revealed by a deeper analysis of the cost-and-benefit balance done by the government, which controls the sOEs and makes the real decision of overseas listing. such a listing wouM bring a variety of economic benefits to sOEs, but the major driver for the action is the government＇s wishes to employ an effective mechanism to restructure and discipline the old sOEs, solve the problems such as manager slack and still keep things under control A change of the main overseas listing place from New York to Hong Kong after the shock of a class action further testifies such considerations from the state. But interestingly, during this process, bound by the external rules, the powerful state itself has gradually been driven in a more market-oriented and rule-abiding direction. This implies the complexity of the interplay of the state and the firm and reflects a typical market-oriented reform and an institutional evolution story of China in the past decades.

synergistic Effects of Biochar and NPK Fertilizer on soybean Yield in an Alkaline soil

Biochar effects on legume growth and biological nitrogen fixation have been studied extensively, mostly in acidic soils with laboratory produced biochar. In the present study, a pot experiment in a full factorial experimental design was performed to examine soybean yield and nodulation of three genotypes grown with or without biochar and NPK fertilizers in an alkaline soil. We observed synergistic effects of biochar and NPK fertilizer applications on biomass and seed yields for all three soybean genotypes. Total biomass production and seed yield increased on average by 67% and 54%, respectively, with biochar and by 201% and 182% with NPK fertilizer application compared to the control. When applications of biochar and NPK fertilizer were combined, the increases were 391% and367%, respectively. However, the biomass production in the control was very low(692 kg ha-1) due to a high soil p H(8.80). The nodulation increased with biochar and NPK fertilizer applications, and was largest with the combined application. A correlation was found between leaf chlorophyll content(single photon avalanche diode value) and nodule number. We suggested that the synergistic increase in yield was due to a decrease in soil p H caused by biochar and NPK fertilizer applications thereby increasing P availability in this alkaline soil.

AIM To describe the development and implementation of a person-centered endoscopy safety checklist and to evaluate the effects of a "checklist intervention".METHODs The checklist,based on previously published safety checklists,was developed and locally adapted,taking patient safety aspects into consideration and using a person-centered approach. This novel checklist was introduced to the staff of an endoscopy unit at a stockholm University Hospital during half-day seminars and team training sessions. structured observations of the endoscopy team's performance were conducted before and after the introduction of the checklist. In addition,questionnaires focusing on patient participation,collaboration climate,and patient safety issues were collected from patients and staff. REsULTs A person-centered safety checklist was developed and introduced by a multi-professional group in the endoscopy unit. A statistically significant increase in accurate patient identity verification by the physicians was noted(from 0% at baseline to 87% after 10 mo,P ses(93% at baseline vs 96% after 10 mo,P = nonsignificant). Observations indicated that the professional staff made frequent attempts to use the checklist,but compliance was suboptimal: All items in the observed nurse-led "summaries" were included in 56% of these interactions,and physicians participated by directly facing the patient in 50% of the interactions. On the questionnaires administered to the staff,items regarding collaboration and the importance of patient participation were rated more highly after the introduction of the checklist,but this did not result in statistical significance(P = 0.07/P = 0.08).
