Two series of lanthanide-containing metal-organic frameworks(Ln-MOFs)of the general formula{[Ln(HIDA)_(2)H_(2)O]ClO_(4)·H_(2)O}_n(Ln=La(1),Nd(2),Eu(3),Gd(4),Tb(5),Eu:Tb(6);H_(2)IDA=iminodiacetic acid)and[Ln(TT)(HTT)(H_(2)O)_3]_n(Ln=Eu(7),Gd(8),Tb(9),Dy(10),and Eu:Tb(11);H_(2)TT=tartaric acid)were synthesized by reacting Ln(ClO_(4))_3 with iminodiacetic acid and L-tartaric acid,*** compounds were structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray *** analyses are co nsistent with the corre sponding crystallographically generated *** reover,the luminescence properties of both the single and mixed-lanthanide complexes were *** infrared,red,and green emissions that are characteristic of Nd(Ⅲ),Eu(Ⅲ),and Tb(Ⅲ)are observed for 2,3/7,and 5/9,*** the two mixed-lanthanide complex systems 6 and 11,depending on the relative amount of Eu(Ⅲ)and Tb(Ⅲ),the color of emission can be *** is found that a small amount of Eu(Ⅲ)is adequate for the observation of the most intense transition of Eu(Ⅲ).This is believed to be a result of energy transfer from Tb(Ⅲ)to Eu(Ⅲ)within the same complex-a conclusion supported by the significantly shortened lifetime of Tb(Ⅲ)and the accompanying enhanced lifetime of Eu(Ⅲ)in the mixedlanthanide complex with respect to the corresponding values for the pure Tb(Ⅲ)and Eu(Ⅲ)complexes with the same ligand.

There are large and growing textual corpora in which people express contrastive opinions about the same *** has led to an increasing number of studies about contrastive opinion ***,there are several notable issues with the existing *** mostly focus on mining contrastive opinions from multiple data collections,which need to be separated into their respective collections *** addition,existing models are opaque in terms of the relationship between topics that are extracted and the sentences in the corpus which express the topics;this opacity does not help us understand the opinions expressed in the ***,contrastive opinion is mostly analysed qualitatively rather than *** paper addresses these matters and proposes a novel unified latent variable model(contraLDA),which:mines contrastive opinions from both single and multiple data collections,extracts the sentences that project the contrastive opinion,and measures the strength of opinion contrastiveness towards the extracted *** results show the effectiveness of our model in mining contrasted opinions,which outperformed our baselines in extracting coherent and informative sentiment-bearing *** further show the accuracy of our model in classifying topics and sentiments of textual data,and we compared our results to five strong baselines.

We investigate quantum-squeezing-enhanced weak-force sensing via a nonlinear optomechanical resonator containing a movable mechanical mirror and an optical parametric amplifier(OPA). Herein, we determined that tuning the OPA parameters can considerably suppress quantum noise and substantially enhance force sensitivity, enabling the device to extensively surpass the standard quantum limit. This indicates that under realistic experimental conditions, we can achieve ultrahigh-precision quantum force sensing by harnessing nonlinear optomechanical devices.

This article is designed as the starting point for future research into the implementation of the funds of knowledge concept in the People’s Republic of *** an exploratory research design,I sketch how the funds of knowledge concept could be used by teachers to empower ethnic minority and city-born migrant children disadvantaged by government policies that restrict access to educational resources and marginalize local *** article identifies a number of logistical and cultural constraints that complicate the implementation of the funds of knowledge concept in the Chinese context,including access to minority and city-born migrant students,guanxi,examination pressure,and cultural scripts for teaching that emphasize knowledge ***,it also suggests how teachers can work within these constraints by taking advantage of curriculum reform in China,which has led to more autonomy at the local level and the creation of elective *** courses could provide the space for the deployment of strategies that draw on students’funds of *** strategies proposed include neighborhood walks,artifact collection,and pedagogies for teaching that foster collaboration between teachers and *** article also extends the notion of funds of knowledge by suggesting how the funds of knowledge concept could be of benefit to China’s Han ethnic majority.

Photonic devices rarely provide both elaborate spatial control and sharp spectral control over an incoming *** optical metasurfaces,for example,the localized modes of individual meta-units govern the wavefront shape over a broad bandwidth,while nonlocal lattice modes extended over many unit cells support high quality-factor ***,we experimentally demonstrate nonlocal dielectric metasurfaces in the near-infrared that offer both spatial and spectral control of light,realizing metalenses focusing light exclusively over a narrowband resonance while leaving off-resonant frequencies *** devices attain this functionality by supporting a quasi-bound state in the continuum encoded with a spatially varying geometric *** leverage this capability to experimentally realize a versatile platform for multispectral wavefront shaping where a stack of metasurfaces,each supporting multiple independently controlled quasi-bound states in the continuum,molds the optical wavefront distinctively at multiple wavelengths and yet stay transparent over the rest of the *** a platform is scalable to the visible for applications in augmented reality and transparent displays.

Marcel Proust is an author of global significance and renown. Trans- lations into Chinese and Korean of A la recherche du temps perdu are ongoing. The Gallica online library of France＇s Bibliothbque nationale makes the notebooks from which Proust＇s novel emerged between 1908 and 1922 digitally accessible any- where in the world. It is well known that Proust has been adapted to graphic novel format, individual volumes of his novel have been adapted for cinema, inspired ballet and musical theatre and his characters＇ lives have fuelled works of fiction by contemporary creative writers. This paper considers a very recent instance of Proust＇s reception and adaptation：＂Works in Fiber, Paper and Proust＂ created by the critic and theorist Eve Kosofsky sedgwick （1950-2009） and first exhibited at Harvard University in 2005. These remarkable objects--including what sedgwick calls an ＂accordion-book＂ and a ＂loom-book＂--give a woven, layered physicality to Proust＇s words and remobilise them in ways that force us to reconfigure our understanding of the text-reader relation. sedgwick＇s visual, textile artworks are the products of creative, adaptive practices undertaken as a sort of therapy that was instrumental in her coming to terms with the terminal cancer diagnosis she received in 1996. My paper explores sedgwick＇s adaptive practice and interrogates the in- sights their challenging hybridity offers us into the ongoing transmission of Proust＇s work.

The most heavily glacierized tropical range in the world– the Peruvian Cordillera Blanca-has been losing ice since the end of the Little Ice Age(LIA).In this study,the decline of the Churup glacier(9°28’18"s;77°25’02"W)and associated processes were documented employing multi-proxy approach including the analysis of remotely sensed images(1948-2016),the schmidt hammer rock test and lichenometric *** is shown that Churup glacier has lost the vast majority of its estimated LIA extent(1.05±0.1 km^2;45.0×10^6-57.4×10^6 m^3).The rate of glacier retreat is documented to vary in space(sE,sW and NW-facing slopes)and time,with the peak between 1986 and *** an area of 0.045 km^2 in 2016,it is expected that the complete deglaciation of the Churup valley is inevitable in the near ***(post-LIA)exposed bedrock surfaces have shown higher R-values(54.2-66.4,AVG 63.3,sTDEV 2.9)compared to pre-LIA exposed surfaces(46.1-59.3,AVG 50.1,sTDEV 4.9),confirming the links to the duration of rock *** Lichenometric dating is applied to recently exposed areas and elevations above 4800 m a.s.l.,revealing only limited reliability and agreement with the age of deglaciation estimated from remotely-sensed images in such an environment.
